temasek's me
OKAY! So it's finally time to do some updates bout school. Here's what it's been like the last few couple of weeks.
Project-work filled Sundays, working & working with The Group..
.. and another Sunday, at Gab's house rushing the Entre project ..
.. and YET another Sunday spent together! just after 3 days of CNY and we were over at Elena's for a mad dash of the Intl Business project.
just notice the time on the clocks below man..
hahah. we worked..
and worked..
.. and worked ourselves silly!
and that was our final project EVER. together. in tp. which we handed up at an amazing record-breaking hour man, woohooo you wouldn't even believe it. :/ hahaha
Yep and to end things off before study break, took my Napfa test early on a saturday morning with Feli and Stef and Kris. Run at the reservoir, all those situps, pullups.. rahhh, managed a bronze! Having not trained fer this AT ALL, I hafta say I'm quite wowed at myself, and with the girls too! Go us! :D
and then on Monday and Tuesday it was accounting and law exams, fingers crossed for some justifiable results at least, and.. yea.
-
So, thats it!
The end of 3 years. (unless I go back for supp papers and still fail those but choy choy choy)
3 years of Business studies. 3 years of great friends and gossip, of Mensa and Biz Park and Cheers, of projects tutors unfinished tutorial homework and long lectures. 3 years of change, of decisions, of new dreams & realizations, of quite alot of growing up.
3 whole years.
Haha I actually can't believe its really come to a close. It HONESTLY really still seems as if it were just yesterday that I first saw the lovely TP campus and told myself I HAVE to study here, that I went for that CMM interview and didn't get in, and got into Business instead, that I crazily went for freshman orientation, that I met my first classmates and everything began..
Some memorable times? One would be the first semester, first few weeks with the new class. Gosh if you look back at my 2005 archives you'll see 'B20 rocks!' and 'i love my class!' repeated so so often. Haha, those reaaally were great times in year one; funny shit from Gerald Naysh and Eugene combined, russell peters craze, the webber nonsense (not that tt was good or anything, just funny), angel/mortal and all that. Oh, there'd be getting that A for business stats too, haha! totally scored on a numbers subject, for once in my life. :D Also, all that reading of Sandra Brown in the library (kudos to Feli for starting me on her books haha). All that shopping craze and online spree-ing for the last 3 years with the girls! haha much much thanks to Stef this time for starting it all back then. zomg, with the ton of shopping I've done in Poly, the amount is probably enough to feed half of Zimbabwe or smthing man. :/ Sem 2.1 was memorable, and in a small way, I quite miss it. That was the only sem I didn't have my bestest girlfriends in the same class too. Then came Sem 2.2, and from there onwards I had a jolly great group to last me through thick & thin, heaven & hell; from Isaac and his everyday lameness, to the occasional group drama we've had, to the comfort in knowing that I've 5 great people to rely on to get me through school. I found joy in CorpComm and writing and all, and I ended up with a superb internship experience. There were rough times of course - the stressful deadlines, no-sleep nights, long school days when you're a tired sod, times when I struggled to make head and tail of tough subjects, and struggling to balance school and life. And then there were fun CCN days, class bonding times, the satisfaction at completing a good piece of work, and of course, those simple little moments of love smiles friendliness and laughter. Who'd wanna forget all that great stuff?!
Aye its pretty hard to put down everything, what I feel for the school and for the last 3 years la. Its very.. mixed. TP has had this ultra impact on me, in so many good ways I didn't expect when I came in 3 years back. I've always said how poly wasn't great because it didn't give me a sense of belonging at all, but strangely enough, its hard saying Bye to this now and moving on.
Sigh! We all HAVE to move on to get through life though, yes? :)
I'll really miss the people, esp the ones I've seen and talked with everyday for so long. I'll miss this polytechnic's lively culture. I'll miss the familiar places and habits and faces. and the food the food!! oh my cutlet and cheese. hahaha. Hmm I quite hate feeling so nostalgic and attached la but hahah, there's so many things about it to miss man!! It was all pretty awesome. And even though its the hols now and I've been enjoying every second of it since it started, boy, I wonder what it'll be like for the next 4 months or so.
Byebye, Temasek Poly! ♥

Visited Jamie at work earlier, bighugs to that woman, I miss! Awhile ago Baby gave me a surprise call too, he was on his dinner break. Then Jimmy tt ol' tuition teacher of mine called, we caught up. Then best, Leanna and Kris called and that was really the cherry on top! (:
Even though I'm surrounded by such hateful accounting notes, I feel so loved! HAHA yay

Jared's second decade!
Happy birthday sweetheart, love love love!
The boy is feverishly sick on his own birthday yknow. Aiyai. :/ GET WELL JARED GET WELL! ♥♥♥

Before he got so ill, we visited the Night Safari (:
Dinner with a tribal hooga-saaaga fire-blowing performance. ahaha, nice!
Inside the safari. Was rather hard taking clear photos of nocturnal animals on my cam without using flash that will blind em, so yea.. you won't get to see the adorable otters or the sleek leopard or the majestic owl we saw here. I honestly forgot their animal names la, but hoho they were all pretty cool! Esp in the dark surroundings all, its quite like an adventure through the trails hahah.
One creature left the deepest impression though..
POCKY! the porcupines! hahaha SO HUGE i tell you, and man, those spikes! you srsly wouldn't wanna kick this guy's ass. Jared did something and all the Pockies had their spikes raised at once and whoa, scary! lol, don't mess man :D

rolls eyes
This is where I talk to myself. STUDY, SARAH, STUDY.
-
My entire block had a gathering last night, in no better place than at our carpark area! Cosy la.. open air, under the stars, lots of space to mingle and play. 6 families, abso-yummy food, and I finally got to know these 2 most adorable little girls who stay above me, wan ying and wan en. We had conversation that ranged from Orion's Belt and rock collections, to art classes and kindergarden, cartoons and pets.. it was so sincere and interesting to just sit and talk with them and find out about their little-girl-lives! Sigh, I really missed my childhood last night.
The girls put their 'rock collection' on Aaron's tummy to turn him into RockMan. lol
Neighbours!

Okay, enough. Law is more important than keeping the Internet company at the moment. STUDY, SARAH, STUDYYYYY.

Last day of school today. ): I'm sad because.. TP has had this ultra impact on me, in so many good ways I didn't expect when I came in 3 years back. I've always said how poly wasn't great because it didn't give me a sense of belonging at all, but strangely enough, its hard saying Bye to this now and moving on. (will continue this after the exams.. short post for now!)
okay and so I went shopping with Stef and Elena after the final lecture, cheered up immensely with super good bargains at the m)phosis sale. YAYYYYY!

HAPPY VALENTINES LOVELIES! Who's gonna be my Valentine this year? (:
Well lets start with today, the actual day of love and friendship and all things nice and sweet. aww! hmm today was my 2nd last day of school in TP too, no more 9am classes in Tampines ever. Pretty sad in some way, well but luckily it was nicely spent!
Gifts from the girls! Brings back so great memories of IJ vdays, thank god for Stef and Feli and Elena now. (:
Thought we'd catch lunch at Sugarloaf, but geez the service was a real letdown. So we took a long walk over to Mensa instead..
Had jap food! That was probably my last official TP meal. I'll miss the good (cheap) food man. ): Elena had some bak kut teh today for lunch and that was pretty yummy, and I can't believe I haven't tried it before yknow. RAHH time's going so fassstttt!
Grouplove ((: Our last school day with Isaac, that idiot isn't coming for the final day tmr. haha and this is the last of LT19 as well! byebye!
So that was Vday with them, other school pics soon.
Yesterday I celebrated Valentine's too, with Kris!! we went for Nick's Shatec run-a-restaurant project thingaling; I dont know the details la, just that he was head chef and we were there to try his cooking for the first time. heh! (:
It was at their school's nice fine-dine restaurant near town, Rosette. Quaint place..
:)
Course number 3 out of 5. This black current lime sorbet was sooo heavenly..
and so was this sponge moouse cake fer dessert. Mmmm!
Nick our chef, Kris and I :)
Chionged to Paragon to surprise Baby after work. Broke my favouritest rose heels from him in the process, pffft. I'm still so miffed bout it.
Ah but yes, Vday isn't Valentines without Jaredddd! ♥ We went out Tuesday. His only off day this week, plus we managed to avoid the crowds and sky-high prices everywhere. Perfecto! (:
27 Dresses before this, then to dinner we went..
a damn good buffet there, I tell you. LOVE IS SWEETEST WHEN YOUR TUMMY AND HEART ARE BOTH FILLED TO THE BRIM. hehhh, yes? :D
So here's to my Valentine!
loverrrrr ((:

SQUEAK!
HELLO! I have so many many photos I want to upload! Bear with me okay?
Delayed reunion dinner and CNY pics in this post! :D
Love CNY, by the way. It's very different for me, compared to many I know? I don't dread the visits, the relatives, the constant same questions, the stoning, the boredom. As tiring as it gets, and believe me, its SUPER tiring - i love the back-to-back visits my family has on the first day, the highness that always goes on at my place on the second day right into the night, and so on and so forth. I'm glad my family's the way it is - rowdy, celebratory, fun! Srsly can't imagine CNY any other way. I LOVE CNY! :)
Another thing I thought about this year, was the cakes and goodies and basically, the good food thats ever-present each new year. My grandmother always prepares them, and now my mom's taken over to help with the load of food needed this season too. Makes me wonder if in time, it's gonna come down to me. If no one of my generation learns all these cake-baking, tart-making ways, and not to mention other things like dumpling-wrapping and tang yuen making and all that, what's gonna become of all these traditions? Seems to me a fragile thing. It can just disappear from age and time, just. like. that.
Scary. Should learn soon, hahah.
OKAAAAY. PICTURES!
Reunion
Dinner!
Lunch!
my favourite steamboat dishes (:
DAY ONE!
Start off the day with a traditional family picture, as always! heh :D
to Grandma's place first..
then Mom's side next, at Old Airport Road.
favouritest Timmy ((:
OH YEA, we had our very own Lion Dance performance in the living room hokay, how cool is that!
everyone smile with the lion!
Family (: love em allll!
and this is Elizabeth. kutie pie, isn't she? (:
DAY TWO!
Goodies galore at home
my dear guests! ♥
the whole gang of a family comes over in the evening for dinner and blackjack, as per each year. Jared and I take the little ones down to the playground instead to play, and boy, I got the best workout since the year began. Run and run and chase and catch. Then, Timmy and Zach on each of our shoulders had Jared and I running around pretending to be Transformers for them!! uber kuteness (and tired shoulders), piggy back rides all the way home after. hahahaha
Didn't take my risks with the gambling that night.. was too hardcore for me. My luck wasn't very good this year ): Ahwell!
DAY THREE!
YV over for lunch! after which, turned into a lonnnggg entertaining 3-hour Blackjack session!
and everyone seems so stoned after that. See. lol (: these people are stoned that they didn't earn enough. and there I am, not a single cent left in my hand. sigh sigh sigh.
Best wishes for the Year of the Rat, ya all! CHEERS (:
