Anything Goes - Weeks #673-674

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday!  We're always so grateful to have you join us for our challenges.  We enjoy your art so much; and even if we don't get to your blog every week to leave a comment, please know that we appreciate you very much.  This wouldn't be a challenge blog without YOU.  Please know that you matter to us, and more importantly, you matter to God.  Thank you for sharing your God-given talents with us.  We praise God for you, and I really do pray for you.  Oh, and here's some more good news.....our Sponsor Calendar for 2025 is full.  As long as God continues to guide, to bless and to provide, this challenge blog will continue.  PRAISE GOD!  And now, let's jump right into this awesome challenge.

Our Bible verse of focus for this challenge is Micah 7:8 and it says, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".  Let me tell you a story relating to this verse.  I have an extended family member, a nephew, who is like a son to me.  If you remember back about ten years ago, I shared with you all the story of my dear friend and sister-in-law who died of brain cancer.  For some strange reason, she once said to me that one of her (four) children was "my other son".  I never quite knew why she said that.  Well, that nephew (now 19) not only lost his dear Mama at the age of 9, but he was also discarded by his father.  To this day, his own father has cast him away, turned his back on him, and wishes the worst for him.  It's tragic.  However, God got ahold of this young man and changed his life; making him a "new creature".  So, when I read these words, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".....it really hit home.  You see, even when our "enemies" (those who wish us the worst and oppose us) desire for us to fail and be miserable, PRAISE GOD, He tells us that He will be our light when we sit in darkness.  My nephew doesn't have to sit in darkness.  He doesn't have to be sad or live a bitter and miserable life.  Neither do you, and neither do I.  When we choose to give our life to the Lord, He promises to always be that light in the darkness.  God, unlike the world and its people, will NEVER leave us or forsake us, and He will bless us, show us a better way, and even "be a father to the fatherless".  My sweet nephew has been through a lot in his young life.  Many of you have gone through a lot as well.  But PRAISE GOD that He will always be there to pick up our broken pieces and make something beautiful out of it all.  He wants to be the light in your darkest days, and it's our sincere hope and prayer that you will call on Him and allow Him to be that light for you.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #663-664

Hurray!  We're SO blessed to have you join us here for another FUN and FABULOUS challenge.  WOW!  Do we ever have something AWESOME waiting for you again this time.  The prize being offered for this challenge is AMAZING!  We are so appreciative of the art you share with us, and we're always amazed at the wonderful creativity you share with us.  Thank you so much for playing along with us.  Please know that if we don't make it by to comment on your card(s), we are SO grateful for you all.  We wouldn't be a challenge blog without each of YOU.  You're important to us, and you're SO important to God.

Our devotional today centers around the Bible verse Romans 5:1-2 which says, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God".  So, what does it mean to be justified by faith?  Well, I believe that it means we are surely blessed.  The Bible tells us that we are blessed when we are able to believe in what we cannot see.  That's faith.  It takes a lot of trust.  As humans, we are inclined to not trust.  That's because people will almost always disappoint us in some way.  But God will never disappoint us.  Through our faith, belief and trust in Him, we are forgiven of our sins (when we confess with a right attitude of remorse), and we can KNOW FOR SURE that we are "saved" and will spend eternity with Him.  The verse goes on to say that we will have PEACE and HOPE.  These are things the world (or people) can't offer us.  The world will always have its troubles, and we will go through difficult times.  However, our hope is not of this world.  By placing our hope, our faith, and our eternity in the hands of God Almighty, we are assured that this HOPE will get us through every trial, and finally, will lead us to His immediate presence when we leave this world.  PRAISE GOD for giving us FAITH, HOPE and access to His grace.  If you've never experienced this, today is the perfect time to call on His name and to begin to experience how wonderful it is to KNOW that we are never again alone.

Anything Goes - Weeks #649-650

Welcome back today, everyone.  Thanks for stopping by for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday.  We've got so many exciting things to share with you, so let's get started right away with our challenge.  Thank you, as always, for joining us.  Please be sure to invite others to come join the FUN here on our challenge blog.  We try to get around to as many blogs as possible to leave a comment, but if we should miss visiting your creative social media; please know that we appreciate you and the art you share with us.  Let the FUN begin.

The word art scripture is Colossians 4:6 (KJV) and it says, "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man".  This verse tells us that we need to be very careful and deliberate about the words we choose to speak and what comes out of our mouth.  The verse also reminds us that our words should always be graceful.  The part about our speech being "seasoned with salt" means that it stands the test of time (salt has been used as a preservative for many years).  Over the years, as we seek God and learn to hold our tongue; asking Him for the words we speak, our speech becomes "seasoned with salt" and our words become deliberate, carefully chosen and wise.  In our flesh, we often give a quick response that may be hurtful to someone.  Let's try to truly ask ourselves, "what would Jesus have said or done in this situation"?  We should desire to be like Him because He is holy.  He is our perfect example.  The closer we draw to God, seek His wisdom in all we do and say, and try to speak words of love and truth; God helps us remain prepared to give an answer (a good and wise answer) to every person who questions us.  Each of us needs to draw close to God and ask Him to season our words with salt, wisdom and grace.  The more we seek God, the more God pours out His wisdom, truth and guidance to help us live our best lives AND give an answer to others that will bless and encourage their walk with God.  I also pray for you, my friends, that when the moment comes and you have the opportunity to give wise counsel; trust God to allow you to give it - wisely and confidently.  God will surely give you the words you need at that time to be a blessing to someone.  This is why He equips us.  Let's each do our very best to watch our speech, to seek God's wisdom in how speak, and to learn how to use our speech for His glory in our encounters with others.
