Welcome To A Woodsrunner's Diary Video.

This piece is actually used as an introduction to other videos. It was taken some time ago when my right hip was breaking up, so you can see that I am favouring my left leg.
Even so it is a reasonable demonstration of using the dog trot to cover ground quickly when carrying a pack without tiring too soon.
The music was written & supplied by Mr Matthew L. Fisher.
My sincere thanks Matthew, much appreciated.
Regards, Keith.

The Gewgaw.

The Gewgaw as it is known in English (also known as a jaw harp) dates back to medieval times right through the 18th century and up to the present day.

The Tin Whistle.

Dispite well known companies such as Colonial Williamsberg advertising and selling 18th century tin whistles, I have not been able to find any documetation on the tin whistle before 1840ad. That is mid 19th century, NOT 18th century. I have emailed Colonial Williamsberg asking them if they could please send me some documentation on the 18th century tin whistle!
