Kazan's sketch #64--sneak of November kit, scrapbook circle

3 comments:
So we had a bit of an adventure last night at our house involving children, my car, and a garage door...I'm happy to report that all is well.  Door is fixed, car is not severely damaged and no children were harmed either....we missed soccer, but sometimes life is just like that.

After it all I was able to chill last night and make this fun little card using Kazan's sketch, AND a sheet from the November kit from Scrapbook Circle.  (don't worry when those sneaks some up I will have to show you--it is SOOO yummy!)

This is a Bella Blvd. piece.  I added some distress stickles, buttons, googly eyes and pop dots to give this guy some life (they were all from my stash.)

It rained last night and cooled us down some more, it's like 64 degrees!  I think this is the first day since May that I've worn jeans, LOVE it!  I even pulled out closed toe shoes out of my closet!  my middle guy says, "wow, mom I haven't seen those shoes in a LONG time!"

Have parent teacher conferences today....should be alright.  Luckily they are one right after the other.
I'm off to hopefully get a page or two done!  Thanks for stopping in and visiting! :)

Kazan's sketch #63--Happy Birthday Nanny

6 comments:
I wanted to quickly share with you a birthday/Halloween card I made for my Nanny.  I used scraps from the Spooky town kit from Scrapbook Circle, and the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 you.  So fun, I did some distress inking on the background and spider web.  These cuts come from the pumpkin carving cartridge, the sun is from accent essentials for the cricut, the stamp is Imagainisce.
That's pretty much it for today!  Thanks for stopping in for a visit!  Hope you have a FUN Saturday!

2 Sketches Laura's #53

4 comments:
We pause between June reveals to bring you this card based on Laura's #53 sketch:
I did double duty on this one. I was asked to design cards for girls camp and REALLY wanted to do something patriotic (I just got some 99 cent WeRMemory keepers stamps) AND I wanted to play along with 2 sketches. I REALLY wanted to sew on this one but it is for girls camp and well....that might be a little complicated for the girls.

supply list:
paper: Pink Paislee
stamps: Hero Arts, We R Memory keepers
glitter glue: ranger
jewels: Bazzill

Off to go eat and get ready for the gym, we are swimming today! Should be fun--I might even go down the slides today....

My take on 2 sketches this week....

6 comments:
This is actually my second card from this sketch, the first is not fit to be seen by anyone.....my DD told me it wasn't as good as others while my DS said it was awesome (no he was not trying to get something from me, he just doesn't like people to be sad....) One more thing, truthfully I am not a great bow tie-er (is that a word?)
Loved working with this paper, it's actually from the November kit at Scrapbook Circle, one of my FAVORITES! The stamp I bought at Michael's for $1 and has other sentiments on it. The embossing is from Quickutz. Thanks for for stopping by! Got to go get the kids from piano and off to Joe's for DH's birthday!

2 sketches card Kazan's #45, and oh, it's my BIRTHDAY! :)

12 comments:
so this is Kazan's sketch this week from 2 sketches 4 you:
It seems like forever since I've played over there! But this week I just had to...I cut these wonderful round scallops using the wild card cricut cartridge (thanks mommy!) I knew I liked them when I cut them I just didn't know what I was going to do with them. When I saw this weeks sketch I new just what to do with them. I ended up making 3 cards, here are two of them. The same BUT different! :)

I also used the doodlecharms cartridge for the bus/car and hearts. I sure am LOVING this expression--it's so much more versatile than my old cricut! :)
Here is the second card:
the rubons are from American Crafts, and the clouds I hand cut.

SO...today is my birthday! It's been a nice day--the whether is GORGEOUS like 70 degrees--(don't worry we will be 110+ in the summer and you won't be jealous!) I just got back from lunch with a friend, this particular restaurant is owned by a man named Joe--he happens to own 3 restaurants--he also happens to give you $10 toward your meal, which for me equates to FREE!! Guess where I'm going tonight?! His BBQ place, the one that my youngest DS says he could eat for breakfast lunch AND dinner. It's that good! :) Fun stuff, krispy kreme also gives you a FREE dozen doughnuts--when I went to pick them up the girl at the window told me to remind my DH that it was my birthday. I looked at her and said, "I'm OBNOXIOUS about my birthday!" She laughed and said, "you go girl!" And I did! :)
Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to enjoy something, not sure if I am going to be creating or reading, or watching something. I'm just going to enjoy it! AND Lost starts tonight! Woohoo! Great present! Have a FANTASTIC ground hog day!

Laura's sketch #36

Can I say FUN?! Yep, I was pretty excited to use my NEW stamps from Inkadinkadoo (I bought them yesterday at my local Scrapbook store, haven't done that in a WHILE...really!--I almost couldn't stand myself they were so CUTE! see:)
As for Laura's sketch here it is:
Here is my take on it:
(Okay, funny story....I bought a new kennel for Ms. Ella the puppy, it's HUGE! It's right by the window AND it makes a perfect place for taking pictures in natural light....)
The paper & ribbon came from the FANTASTIC special edition Halloween kit from Scrapbook Circle. I then added pearls, bling, stamp, hemp, bazzill border. I even broke out the water color pencils and played with those. (thanks again mom for those....)
It was a VERY creative day because I got all my have to's done this morning. (Ya know, loading the dishwasher, vacuuming the floor, stuff ready for my Scout meeting tomorrow.....)
So I had a great time creating this card and a layout I'll have to share tomorrow, it's time for me to get going to soccer practice...IMAGINE that! :) Thanks for stopping by and visiting today!

supplies used:
pattern paper: Basic Grey
stamp: Inkadinkadoo
distressing ink: ranger
ribbon: Making Memories
pearls: Basic Grey
border: Bazzill
hemp: I bought it at Walmart

rustic flower

2 comments:
Last week was a little crazy so I didn't get to the sketch at 2 sketches 4 you so I decided to do it today with one of those rustic flowers. There really fun and easy to do, first I want to show you the card I made then I'll give you the step by step instructions.
And for the instructions....
I used my cricut (walk in my garden) for cutting these particular flowers out but you can do these by hand too. I also used thicker cardstock, if you use thinner paper you can cut more flowers.
1. start with 8 flowers 4 large (2 1/2"), 4 small (2")
2. distress flower front and back
3. crumple the flowers.4. fold each flower in half, put a bit of glue to hold it in half.5. pick the spot you want your flower and glue half of your larger flower down. Next glue the other half to make your full flower.6. glue your next layer with your "seam" facing going the other direction. 7. continue layering until your flower is finished. I finished this flower with a button but you can put a jewel, or you may cut another smaller flower to cover the seam (of course distress the flower before adhering to your final project.)
Good luck and enjoy!
