Soccer, Soccer, Baseball, and more Soccer

Around here with Spring comes sports. It is always busy, but a lot of fun. Kamryn and Derek are both playing soccer. Kamryn is playing little league baseball, and Derek will start T-ball in June. Wyatt is coaching Derek's soccer team, which is a lot of fun. I love to watch those little kids play. It is like the ball is a magnet, and they all just follow it around. It is so cute, and they get so excited. Kamryn is also fun to watch. By his age they actually understand the game and start to really play. He had his first little league game on Saturday. That was fun too. His team won 12-2. Derek plays once a week, Kamryn plays soccer twice a week, and baseball 2 or 3 times a week. So it is really quite crazy. Well last Thursday things got even more crazy. After Kamryn's soccer game we got a call from the traveling soccer team's coach. They want Kamryn to play on the traveling soccer team also. He is so excited. He has been wanting to play on this team, but it is an invitation only team. Now we will have to juggle extra soccer practices in our schedule. It will be a good experience for Kamryn. He should really learn the game of soccer better. Wyatt and I are not much help to him. It should be fun too. We get to go to the summer games in Cedar City as well as to a few other tournaments around the state. So if you are looking for us in the next few months and we are not home, you may want to try the soccer fields or the ball diamonds. That's most likely where we'll be.

A Magical Pack Meeting

The theme for pack meeting last week was magic. All the scouts prepared and performed their own magic tricks. They all did a great job. It was a lot of fun. Kamryn was super hyper that night. I don't know what happened to him, but he was very wild and crazy. I think he was just super excited and maybe on a little bit of a sugar high (he had a gatorade right before). Wyatt wasn't able to be there, so I videoed Kamryn's trick. I thought you may like to see it.

I don't know if he tricked anyone, but he did get a laugh from everyone. I guess maybe he's a better comedian than magician.

Welcome Home Troy

My brother Troy has been in Iraq with the National Guard for the last year. In February he was able to come home on leave for a couple of weeks, but Wednesday he was able to come home for good. He called last Sunday from Mississippi and said that he would be home on Wednesday at about 3:45. I was so glad to know that he was at least in the states. I made arrangements so that I would be able to see him come in. I was going to go to Lehi first and then ride to the air base with my sisters, but I was running late (surprise, surprise), so I just went straight to the Salt Lake Air Base. I got there about an hour early. I just took my time getting my kids out of the car because it was cold and I didn't want to wait around for to long. I finally decided to find where the airplane was coming in. As I got over there I saw that the plane had already landed and all the soldiers were already off. I was by myself with my three little kids. I was holding Sadie, and holding both Derek and Brynli's hands. There were so many people there and I didn't want to lose anyone. I was looking all over for my brother. Troy isn't married, my parents are gone on a mission, and I knew my sisters weren't there yet. I felt so bad that nobody was there to greet Troy when he got off the plane. I figured he must have given us the wrong time. As I'm looking all over the place I hear them announce on the loud speaker that the second plane will be here in about 25 minutes. Whew! I didn't miss him after all, he was just on the second plane. I found myself a seat to wait until the next plane arrived. I just watched the people around me. It was so neat to see the reunion of the soldiers with there families. They had a band playing patriotic music, flags, and soldiers everywhere. It was very patriotic, and I was glad that I was able to be there and experience this. I was very grateful for our soldiers and there sacrifices for us. About 3:30 (still 15 minutes early) the second plane arrived. My sisters were still not there, so I took my kids again and lined up to meet the soldiers. They had people holding flags that the soldiers walked through. There was someone handing each soldier a yellow rose as they came off the plane so they could give it to their sweetheart. It was really neat. I wanted to get better pictures, but my hands were full with kids. Troy was one of the first soldiers off. I was so glad that I was there to greet him. It was great to see him, and I am so proud of him. My sisters Melanie, and Jodi found us shortly after Troy came off the plane, and then Janet and her kids came a little bit later. The kids were all excited about the donuts and cupcakes that they had for everyone. It was a great reunion. I am so thankful to our military, and I'm very proud of both of my brothers, Troy and Bryce, who serve our country. I love you guys.

Family Bike Ride

For Kamryn's Birthday he wanted to go on a family bike ride with the Harding's. He got a new bike so he was way excited to be able to ride it. He hasn't had a bike since last summer when his bike was stolen. This was our first family bike ride of the year. Brynli and Derek both got new bikes for Christmas and Wyatt also just got a new bike so everyone was really excited to go. Our family bike rides are not your typical bike ride. We don't really have a destination, and we don't just ride our bikes on the road. We go to all the places in town that have stairs or fun jumps. We just kind of play around. Not really great exercise, but a lot of fun. We discovered on our bike ride that we have a superhero in our family. Brynli is Speedgirl! At least that is what she was telling everybody. This was her first bike ride were she rode solo. She usually accompanies Sadie in the trailer. She was so funny. She kept calling herself Speedgirl, and if you didn't call her that she would correct you. At one time she kind of fell off her bike. Randy asked her if she was hurt. She said she didn't get hurt, because she was as tough as her dad. So I guess that must be one of her superhero powers. She really did a great job. She survived a pretty long bike ride (for a 4 year old), with jumps, stairs, and even a dog. About a block away from home she started to get a little tired, so we let Abbie ride her bike the rest of the way home and she rode in the trailer. Once we were home we all enjoyed banana splits. It was a great birthday for Kamryn.

I tried to get pictures of everyone but Austin must have been way to fast because somehow I missed him (Sorry Austin).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KAMRYN

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Kamryn, happy birthday to you. I was going to do a video of our family singing to Kamryn, but I thought if I did nobody would ever come back to our blog. (Our singing is pretty scary). Kamryn is nine years old today. He has been really looking forward to his birthday. I thought in honor of Kamryn's birthday it would be fun to look back at his life as an eight year old. It was a great age. We would hate for him to forget it.

Now that we have gone back a year, I think Kamryn should stay eight for one more year. Is that all right with you Kamryn? I really hate to see him growing up. He is such a great kid. He is a wonderful big brother and he helps out a lot. Being the oldest, there is more expected of him, but he seems to step up to the plate. He is a great example. We are so glad he is a part of our family. We love you Kamryn.
