Sweet Stampin' - Fairies & Fantasy

Hello... ok, so I failed slightly with the 'more frequent blogging' thing... must try harder this week!  Had a lovely week with the boys though... well, mainly Dex, as Morgan spends most of his time in his dressing gown, on his Xbox in the dark.  Managed to drag him out for a walk once though, which is a fairly major achievement with a teenage boy I think!

So, anyway... our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'fairies & fantasy'.  I have a basket of images that I've either stamped or printed, and then not got round to colouring, so I thought I'd have a rummage and choose one from there.

I'd forgotten about this image - she's adorable, isn't she?!  She's a digi from CC Designs, but I don't know if she's even available anymore... maybe as a stamp?  I coloured her with copics and a touch of prisma pencil.  The papers are new (to me) from Polka Doodles, they're called Belle Papillon, the star die is Memory Box, sentiment is Clearly Besotted.  Finished off with some Glamour Dust sparkle for her wings and a sparkly enamel dot... oh, and some lace I found in my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Aud Sentiments - bingo (pink, digi, die cuts)
Crazy 4 Challenges - layer it up
Cutie Pie - think pink

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Busy Alf - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Oh, I really must blog more often!  I make cards and then just forget to blog them... need to start scheduling a few posts in advance I think, try and override my forgetfulness!

Anyway, here's one I made for a customer weeks ago, and then forgot to post...

I've used the fabulous Alf from DigiStamp Boutique, as my customer was quite taken with him... and really, who wouldn't be?  He might actually be my favourite character ever.  You can find Alf HERE.  He's coloured with copics, the papers are retired ones from LOTV and the large number dies are Crafter's Companion.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Dream Valley - birthdays

The boys are off for the half-term now, and Dex has plans for fairy cakes and crafting apparently... but hopefully I'll remember to pop back soon!  Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Stampin' - bingo board for Halloween

Happy Saturday :o)

For this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' we have a Halloween bingo board... although there are a couple of lines where you could squeeze something 'un-Halloween' in too!

Here's my card... another one that I have absolutely no use for really, but I had fun making it.

I used the Halloween Squares set from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with copics, with some old First Edition papers and a sentiment from a magical/ fairy themed set... which is so old I have no idea where it was from.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - photo inspiration
Allsorts - Halloween
Try it on Tuesdays - Halloween
Sweet Stampers - autumn or Halloween
The Crazy Challenge - Halloween
Pile It On - fantasy and/ or spiders/ cobwebs

Pav's off out tonight (drinking mucky beer, as Dex puts it), so I have pizza and the remote control all to myself... might even get my knitting out.  Ooh I know how to party eh?!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Sweet Stampin' - distressing

Happy Saturday :o)

This week at Sweet Stampin' we'd like to see your 'distressed' cards... my cards tend to be quite neat and 'clean', but every now and then I do like to play with inks and distressing tools.  I've even been known to rip paper, but I have to be feeling very brave for that lol!

I couldn't decide what to make, so ended up playing with some new male sentiment stamps I bought from Polkadoodles - you can find them HERE.  Pav's birthday has been and gone, so I'm not sure why I chose the husband stamp... maybe someone will need one, otherwise I'll be super organised for his next birthday for a change lol.  I stamped the sentiments in black Archival ink, the distress inks are Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron.  Papers are an old First Edition pad and the star die was from Joanna Sheen.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Aud Sentiments - use a die-cut plus a sentiment
Creatalicious - anything goes with optional make your own background

Actually, thinking about it, I probably should have made a Christmas card shouldn't I?!  Think I've only made about 3 so far this year... oops!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Basketball Owen - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Today I'm sharing the card I made for Morgan's 15th birthday a few days ago.

Anything basketball related usually goes down well with Morgan, so I used Basketball Owen from DigiStamp Boutique.  I coloured him with copics and used the sentiment that's included with the image.  Buttons from my stash, and I can't remember what the papers are... will have to check later!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Crafty Addicts - use a brad/ button
Addicted to Stamps - anything goes

I met up with an old friend this morning for a walk with the dogs (hers and mine that is, I haven't been daft enough to get another dog...).  We went to school together and lived on streets next to each other, but haven't met up since we were teenagers... so, some time ago lol!  She's got a very handsome dalmatian, and Chester played with him while we walked and chatted.  I was really nervous about meeting up, but it was so lovely to see her and the dogs are as silly and hyper as each other, so I'm sure we'll do it again.

Thanks for popping in, hope you're all having a lovely weekend :o)

Boys Toys/ In the Garden - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello again :o)

I'm here with a card I made for an order, using images from DigiStamp Boutique.

I really am hopeless at taking photos of anything other than square cards, but I tried!

The golf cart and fishing images are from the Boys Toys set and the gardening images are from In the Garden - Veggies.  With most of them I printed directly onto the patterned paper, and then again onto my usual colouring paper, coloured them with copics, and then cut out the coloured bits and layered them over the printed images.  The number dies are MFT die-namics, sun die is Lil' Inkers, husband stamp is Clearly Besotted, the rest of the text is computer generated.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - pop it up
Tuesday Throwdown - more than one fold

We're off to my mum's for fish & chips, as it's Morgan's 15th (!!!!) birthday tomorrow, and he wants to go to Meadowhall (generally known as Meadowhell in our house) to spend his birthday money... so mum's tonight, Meadowhall tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Stampin' - cute & cuddly

Hello again... at last!

Oh, I've been a rubbish blogger again... shame on me!  I'll waffle on about why at the end, so you can skip it if you like ;o)

Our challenge over at Sweet Stampin' for this week is 'cute & cuddly', which fit in nicely with a card I needed to make for my lovely step-sister (from her dad and my mum).

The image is Girl's Best Friend from Tiddly Inks, coloured with copics.  Papers and enamel dots are Doodlebug, the leafy die I think is Memory Box, the flower is MFT die-namics.  The sentiment is a mix of LOTV and Clearly Besotted stamps.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Tiddly Inks Challenge - anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - floral embellishments
Daisy Chain - in the pink
Creatalicious Challenges - anything goes with optional leaves
Use Your Stuff - pets

So, what have I been up to for the last few weeks?  Well, I was chatting with my mum, casually saying how I'd quite like to pick up some knitting again, and maybe learn to crochet... that would probably have been the last I thought of it, but hubby heard me and the next time he went to the shop he came home with the first issue of one of those weekly knitting mags, where you get wool and patterns to make squares each week, and it takes years and several hundred pounds to make a throw lol... and then signed me up for the subscription for it.  So then I had to have a go, didn't I?!  And I've got rather addicted already.  It's probably going on 20yrs since I last knitted but it's all coming back and I'm really enjoying my 'new' hobby.  I've finished a hat for myself and now I'm working on one for Dex, so I'm sure I'll share pics on here eventually... apologies in advance to anyone who finds knitting deadly dull lol.

Oh, and if anyone's still interested in the boring weight loss stuff, I've now lost 40lbs!

Thanks for popping in, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)
