Something different

Hello everyone :o)

I've made a little inky something today, using the latest freebie image over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps... Pop over here for all the details and here to get the freebie.

When it was finished I sprayed the whole thing with Goosebumps Spray, and I've tried to get in close to show the texture of it, but... nope, you really can't see it!  If you imagine a bumpy (goosebump-like) glossy texture - it looks (and feels) great in real life, you'll just have to take my word for it...

Items Used
Plain tag from my stash
Digi stamp - Cactus Tree - current freebie, Little Miss Muffet Stamps
Colouring - copics
Background stamps - Stampin' Up
Imagine stamp (possibly Kraftin' Kimmie)
Distress Inks (made this quite a while ago, and can't remember colours!)
Goosebumps Spray
Twine & sparkly fibres from my stash

We've been out doing a bit of Christmas shopping, which is even worse than normal shopping, and I can't stand doing that... so, you know, it's been a fun day!  Dex had a lovely time making Knex animals with Grandma, so at least he's had a good day.

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Ooh, nearly forgot... there's a fab sale at Little Miss Muffet Stamps at the moment - details below!

Hey Little Birdie - Sugar Nellie DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my Sugar Nellie DT card, using one of the new fairy digi stamps from the Return to Winter Wonderland release - just because I felt like colouring her... although I've made a right old mess of her hair!

I cut the card base a little bit bigger than usual because I wanted a bit of space around the Memory Box die, which I bought weeks ago and have only just got round to using!

Items Used
Cream linen cardstock - Papermill Direct
Digi stamp - Sugar Nellie Hey Little Birdie - Funky Kits
Colouring - copics
Paper - Woodland Wishes - LOTV

Pudding Chester - Little Miss Muffet DT

Hello everyone :o)

It's my day to post on the Little Miss Muffet facebook group, following the latest theme over on the challenge blog, which is 'It'll be all white on the night'.

Usually I really don't like my white on white creations... other people's look gorgeous, but mine never quite work.  I'm happy with this one for a change, although I think sweet Chester can make anything look good!

White hammered card - Papermill Direct
Grand nestabilities Labels 1

Graduation Zoe - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

It's my day to post on the DigiStamp Boutique blog, and I've used an older image today - I had an order for a graduation card, don't think I've ever made one before.

My colouring really is shocking on this one!  Having major sticky copic issues and had to correct some of it with prisma pencils.  I'm on the case though... I've been told if I clean the brush nibs and inside the lids that should help, although I did manage to break the first nib I tried to remove lol!  So I've got some replacement brush nibs on the way too.

Items Used
Card base - grand nestabilities Labels 1
Digi stamp - Graduation Zoe - DigiStamp Boutique
Colouring - copics & prisma pencils
Papers - Papermania Capsule Collection
Memory Box Cherry Blossom die
Memory Box Lorelai Leaf die - MCH
X-cut flower punch
Pearls from my stash

Off for a bit of a blog catch up before I go back in the craft room... next year I really must start making Christmas cards in January - I've only made 3 of our own cards, all the rest are for orders!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Hello everyone :o)

I've used the latest showcase stamp from Little Miss Muffet Stamps for today's card... You can see all the details, some fab DT cards and a freebie on this blog post.

There's something not quite right about this card... I think it's the sentiment that's ruining it, maybe it should be on a white background.

Items Used
Card blank - Craftwork Cards
Stamp - Swings & Slides Happy Mail - Little Miss Muffet Stamps
Colouring - copics
Papers - LOTV
Sentiment stamp - Personal Impressions
Snowflakes - MS punch
Memory Box Party Lanterns die - MCH

Hello again, I'm back with my second post for today... Please scroll down if you came to see my card for Sugar Nellie's new release.

I'm back with my 2nd post for today... and this one's a wee bit bright!  I had a lovely email from Lee Holland, asking if I'd like to make a couple of cards using his digi stamps... Well, I'd already seen them and knew they were very cute, so it didn't take me long to say yes.  You can see all of Lee's fab digis in his Etsy shop here.

Extreme Less is More!

Hello everyone.... I'm not really here, should be in the craft room!

Just popping in with a VERY 'less is more' card for the 'designer paper' challenge at Less is More, as my last attempt had a 'bit' too much paper.  This one definitely hasn't!  It's for an order for my friend, who prefers her cards as simple as possible... Pav actually laughed when he saw this one!

Sorry, just realised the photo looks a bit blurry, might replace it later!

Gorgeous new images at DigiStamp Boutique

Hello everyone :o)

It's my day to post on the DigiStamp Boutique blog, and I've made two cards using images from the brand new and very gorgeous Cute Robin Collection 2.

Aren't they adorable?!  There'll be lots more robin creations from me, as a friend has asked for 10 robin themed cards... so that's 2 down, more soon... I had my usual layers cut and placed on the first card, then realised my friend prefers them very simple so I took everything off again!

Gingerbread house

Hello everyone :o)

You know those freebies that come with magazines?  Well, what generally happens is, I put them to one side thinking I might use them, they sit there for a couple of months and then get passed onto my friend... I should probably cancel the magazines!  But one of this month's issues came with a set of gingerbread themed papers and chipboard shapes, and I had the urge to make something with them straight away... I made quite a few cards, and seen as I'm busy with DT work at the moment, I thought I'd share one of my gingerbread makes today.

Items Used
Scalloped card blank - Joanna Sheen
Papers & chipboard shapes - magazine freebies
Go Kreate scalloped & plain circle dies
Computer generated sentiment

Off for a little commenting catch up before I go back in the craft room... busy, busy, busy!  Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

CAS... but probably not LIM?

Hello everyone :o)

I've not played along with Less is More for months, but found a bit of time this weekend... This week's challenge is to 'use designer paper in a CAS way' but I think I've probably used too much paper for this to pass as LIM!

Items Used
Digi paper & sentiment - Pink Petticoat
(printed onto linen cardstock from Papermill Direct)
MS snowflake punch
Card candy - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon & thread from my stash

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Craftwork Cards - Vogue

Happy Saturday everyone :o)

I'm being lazy today and showing a 'here's one I made earlier' card, rather than the card I'd planned to show... because I'm quite comfy with a cup of tea and piece of shortbread, and don't really fancy moving to take a photo at the moment lol...

This one was made with goodies from the yummy new Vogue Collection from Craftwork Cards - I bought the 'project of the month' set and everything I've used, including the twister card blank, was included... I just added a bit of black card for matting, and distress ink around all the edges, and that's it!

Off for a wander around your blogs... Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Bags of Fashion Tabitha - Sugar Nellie DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm happy now, because Morgan's back safe and happy... he's had a bath (was a desperate first priority!) and is now filling his hungry tum.  According to his teacher, Morgan and his friends got the prize for the cleanest room, which is, quite frankly, astonishing!  He's managed ok with his hand, although he did miss out a couple of activities.

Anyway, here's my DT card for the Sugar Nellie blog, using one of the gorgeous Bags of Fashion stamps - Tabitha.

Items Used
6" x 8" card blank - cut from kraft card - Anna Marie Designs
Stamp - Sugar Nellie BOF Tabitha - Funky Kits
Colouring - copics

Butterfly - Prima Divine Butterflies - MCH
Sentiment stamp - Stampin' Up
MME enamel dots

Now I need to be brave and open Morgan's case... apparently everything is VERY muddy!

Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Crafty Little Fairies - top of the pops

Morning everyone :o)

I should be at the gym, but I'm far too busy worrying about Morgan and feel the need to be right by the phone lol... so I'll have a day in the craft room instead.

Our new challenge at Crafty Little Fairies is one of those that I dread, because my mind goes completely blank - 'top of the pops' (or inspired by a song).  Even though I listen to loads of different music, I can only ever come up with something deeply embarrassing and I might have outdone myself this time with 'Lipstick, Powder & Paint' by Shakin' Stevens... hangs head in shame... For some unknown reason, when I was around 7 or 8 I had a bit of a crush on old Shaky - I even had a Shaky calendar... it must have been quite worrying for my parents lol.

Our fab sponsors this week are The Ribbon Girl and Iva Nova Chest.

Items Used
Card base - Grand Nestabilities Labels 4 dies
(with point cut off at the back so it stands up)
Stamp - Getting Ready - LOTV (won on LOTV blog hop)

Go Kreate large circle dies
Memory Box Macarena Corner die (cut up)
Sentiment - LOTV

I'm entering my card for the following challenges

Creative Corner - sing, sing a song
Creative Card Crew - pearls

Off to the craft room... Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

My DT news and a tricky couple of days...

Hello everyone :o)

I was invited to join the DT at Little Miss Muffet Stamps recently and was very happy to accept - if you loved Pollycraft, you can find lots of Paula's fab images there, and lots of other gorgeous stamps and digis too!  I'm part of the new Facebook team, so I'll be posting my creations there every week... pop over and join the group here.

Today's card is for the latest Little Miss Muffet challenge, which is 'seeing dots' - you can join in with that here.

Items Used
Scalloped card blank - Joanna Sheen
Stamp - Dexter Ice Cream - Little Miss Muffet Stamps
Colouring - copics
Papers - MME (can't remember the name, sorry)
Sentiment stamp - Personal Impressions
Snowflakes - MS punch
Impression Obsession Buttons die - MCH
Memory Box Party Lanterns die - MCH
Glamour Dust in Crystal

Apologies for the loooong ramble - feel free to skip it!  I'm very tired so it might not all make sense!

So... the last few weeks we've been getting sorted (and stressed!) ready for Morgan's first residential trip with school - 3 days away at an outdoor adventure type place.. abseiling, potholing, that sort of thing.  Morgan's quite accident prone, so I've been worrying about all the different ways he could injure himself.  However, what I hadn't planned for, was him injuring himself before he went!  They were leaving on the trip today... yesterday I got a call from school to say he'd had an accident during basketball - he'd fallen over and another child stood on his hand... the hand started to swell up and he couldn't move one of his fingers.

Off we trekked to the hospital... we finally left at 10.30 last night!  We waited for hours and then he was prodded and poked a bit, then we waited hours and he had an x-ray, then we waited a bit longer and it turned out he hadn't actually broken it, it was just sprained.  So they strapped it up, and thankfully his teachers said he could still go on the trip... although obviously there'll be a lot he can't do - he couldn't even put his shoes on without help this morning!

Now we've just got to wait very nervously until Friday evening when he gets back - he's not allowed to ring home, although I'm sure they'll ring me if there's a problem.

Right, off for a catch up with some of your blogs, if I can keep my eyes open long enough!  Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)
