Rokuta

My favourite kirin! [Taiki too]
This's my first time colouring a sketch in photoshop =D
The scanner's not very good so I'm not too happy with the pencil lines which were darkened alot to make it more obvious. But yay! I tried something new today! Now only if I can draw without reference...

Anyway I ransacked my drawer to look for my old drawings so to see whether I've improved drawing. Then I saw this:

This is probably done in my secondary school days, clothes inspired by FF. Spot the Rikku, Aeris wanabe! haha. There was a period of time I wanted to be a character designer, I'd draw alot of girls like this and think of all the funky clothes design [inspired from video games] then have a little story in my head. And why are they all females? Because I fail drawing males' clothes, it always end up being tshirts and pants. haha.

Oh and I realise I never like using pencils to draw in the past so I always use black pen but now.. I'm afraid to use pen for fear of drawing wrongly =.=

Wanton

The devil C.T made us wanton! Well we helped made most of them, I helped a litttttle too. Surprisingly it tasted quite good.

The process...

Vladimir and Estragon *coughwaitingforgodotcough*
Reminds me of Wang Sa Ye Fong too.. oh or even Bert and Ernie! But it's really just 2 Mr Beans~ [Too lazy to edit that glaring light]

Most of the busts are either moldy or cracked already and so is my Kimutaku
His poor poor neck. Looks more like my Dad actually now to look at it.
Yes looking at this picture my inner voice is ranting how he doesn't look like youknowwho but I will ignore this for now. After all I made this with my very bare hands beginning with zero experience, 1% knowledge [paint the wood, screw it tight], I tried my best, I should be proud of it! So hopefully my 2nd attempt with objectwithlight will make up for it.

Playing with Daiso's bamboo blinds for a few hours and you'll get this.

Most heartwarming of all, he gave us these little plants and not saying what it'll grow up into. Perhaps in a way saying we're like these little seedlings, still growing. There's still much to learn.

I think this is the most meaningful present a teacher can ever give a student, I like it alot. Can't wait for it to grow! So by the time I graduate from here it should have bloomed. :)

The devil unmasked! And his family! [gf behind, tsk tsk how can like this]
But well he's not that entirely nasty after all :)

Afternoons with Kuala

Onward with classmates for our long-awaited post exams buffet dinner!

2 days of holidays so far I did:
  • Watched red cliff. Was really awed by the visuals. I like the battle scenes. I like how every character had his little own screen time to show off his abilities. Most importantly I like the 2 main leads.

  • Love for "Coffee Prince" rekindles due to repeat telecast at 6pm!
I think I enjoyed watching this better the second time than the first. I like the mood of the environment, the green and the earthy tiles. Able to appreciate it better this time and the music too. Watching it once a day feels better than watching it all at once sometimes.

  • I spent my 1st day of holiday [Friday] at home with "Kuala" having our little own random afternoon chat on the msn. While talking about Persona, we moved on to Ingmar Bergman and read all about his life on the internet, something I should have done BEFORE and not AFTER the exams. Having biscuits for lunch became selling celebrity/harry potter cookies to earn a luxurious screening room so we can invite people to come over and watch movies all day. Yes see you next afternoon! haha.

  • A 4 months break from studying Japanese has made my brain rust.
Anyway the lesson was alright though I had a hard time trying to catch what sensei said and remembering what we learnt before. I like Takagi sensei's cheery energy.

Now how do I end this post...

David strikes back

OMG. Just when I'm happy that my exams are over. Michelangelo's David continues to haunt me when I'm watching anime. Out of all the artworks that flashed by they had to stop at DAVID.

Nodame: I know this person
Chiaki: Michelangelo's David. This is a replica.
Nodame: Wouldn't it be nice if you were famous someday and have a sculpture of you made like this? *all smiley*
Chiaki: o.O'' Nude statue of a conductor?!

See the little tree trunk behind the statue, it's a reference to the classical Greek style omg they even include the tree trunk. And yes he's in a pose ready to attack Goliath just like the real thing, his face twisted to the side, the body contrapposto positioned. David is really famous even after like 500 hundred years, to appear in an anime that I chose to watch out of so many titles on a night that I've just finished my exams.

Funny coincidence is I did this sculpture for my WAH paper. Art history is everywhere~

I am waiting

Art History paper's finally over. 2 more days and I'll have my lit paper and that's it!

It feels like I'm taking my O levels again but not taking it that seriously. Due to age perhaps? I'm taking exams much lightly than I used to. While scribbling on the exam paper, somehow I feel my English standard probably stopped at sec4 because I stopped applying it on papers, or even in conversations. The cheem vocabulary in my notes, I didn't use them much at all because I can't remember. Now that's something to work on during the holidays... if 1 + months can make a difference of a 3 year gap in using the language other than blogging and msn.

It's so hard when you wana describe a good work and then the words that come out from your head are only: good, beautiful, wonderful, good representation. Linking the sentences with 'and' and 'but'...

This cannot go on when I'm here.

***

How to study lit when my film of study doesn't even have a proper setting, the tree is just something like a clothes hanger and throughout the whole film of about 2 hours it's just about 2 men talking, waiting for somebody that doesn't come.

And the other one while it's abstractly intriguing to watch, it makes my hair stand for it's freaky intro- A hammer hammering a nail onto a hand. A boy sleeping and then wakes up to touch the screen of a woman's face, then the face of the woman closes her eyes and opens again. Plus it's a very old film in black and white, very disturbing to watch at 12.05am.

Interesting yes, but it's just so difficult to watch.

Met up with Poly friends and chatting with secondary friends now in the midst of the exam period and deadlines makes me feel.......

happier! .. =.=

Gah. Still lack of vocabulary even after 14 weeks.

Fangal's Gush

Takeshi Kaneshiro sang Kimi ga iru dake de in chinese before! =D
Omg. That totally made my night. I'm in Kome Kome Club mood since 2 weeks ago and still playing Tsu yo ga ri when I'm on the bus all the time. But of course I prefer the original version. I never grow tired looping KKC's songs for some reason, their songs are always super earworms that haunt me wherever I go.

Reading on led me to know Takeshi Kaneshiro + Tony Leung were on last week's Bistro SMAP. OMG!!!! The last time Takeshi was on SMAPxSMAP's way back in 2002. omgomg. Takuya + Takeshi + Tony Leung, Asia's top superstars, the 3 big Ts together! in a variety show! Kimutaku's specially excited this ep =D I'm too high to do anything now!

After the exams I must watch Red Cliff, Accuracy of Death, 2046, Lust Caution. It'd be super cool if they were together in a movie, especially Takuya + Takeshi. They haven't work together before yet but golly they totally should!

Anyway just now while walking past a bunch of kids playing, I suddenly recalled a piece of childhood memory. You know in playgrounds, the pole where you swivel down like a fireman. Everytime when I'm going up and down the slides, climbing here and there, I never dare to slide down the pole though I very much want to. I'd stand there looking at the pole for some time hesitating and then end up coming down from the slide again. Until one day, while I was thinking whether to try coming down from the pole again, a big sister looked up at me from below and said: You want to try coming down from there? She told me not to be scared and guided me step by step, my hands grab tight of the pole first, then cuddle it with my legs and down i went. I did it. She smiled, I smiled too. It wasn't as scary as I thought and happily for the rest of the day I kept climbing up only to swivel down the pole. I was only 10.

Maybe I just need someone to tell me not to be afraid.

Something else

I was rather frustrated when 157 came as I made a trip back home again a while ago because I forgot to take something. To my surprise this isn't quite the usual 157 I used to take...

Red carpeted walls and sofa seats, on a bus!

See those seats facing the window far at the front of the bus? There's a mini bar-like table against the window. Super cool.

Wonder if this's for some kind of ad but I don't see anything related except for the nokia-music-phone thingy? I doubt it's for that, it's too hidden behind. It'd be cool to see more of these buses but of course there's limited seats. The funny thing is I was sitting in a super old tibs bus yesterday, you know those kind where the door slides open before the bus actually stops? This one had trouble closing and the bus continues to run with the door struggling to close and finally closed it did.

Anyway today very random, when I was looking through my file for my 4D sketches, I browsed through a French film festival booklet and on the spot decided to watch Tokyo! today!

It's a film consisting of 3 short films shot in Tokyo by three directors from different countries - France, Korea and Germany. The three stories are namely Interior design, Merde, Shaking Tokyo, it depicts Tokyo life in the eyes of these foreign directors. There I saw Michel Gondry's name (director for eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!) So yes, I must watch this and of course it was good!

Without much spoiling all I can say is it's very abstract but entertaining as well, some images very disturbing but puts you to think, alot, am still. There were shots shot with steady hands [either that or there's some kind of device that can move with the cam] following the characters as they walk, I like that. It's rather funny at times too.

Girl: The bigger the company you work for, the smaller the flat you live in.
Guy: So you work in a big company?
Girl: No I work in a small one. [flat is very small]

If you feel useless, you can always be an object and live a life of your own.

Human Bust V

The best view of the bust well, isn't the front

Now that I have no choice but to "finish" my bust and looking through pictures to compare the resemblance with I realise; I made a very terrible mistake..

Out of so many high resolution pictures I have of KT, in the end I go and choose an old grey picture with very safe hair for the front view. What was I thinking! I should have go ahead and used a long hair one, I could have saved my energy from doing the ears! What was I thinking!!!! I searched high and low for a picture with short and neat hair and then after seeing other people do, it's long hair that's easier to do. And the picture is so low res, when I put together with my photo it's like 1: 20? lol? No wonder no matter how I do it still doesn't look like him even though I've got like 10 reference pictures? ha. ha. ha. And somemore I was given a good chance to redo it. Sure I did my best, but it didn't work.

I want to redo everything again :/

Human Bust IV

After major facelift by the hands of a certain Dr Doom..

.. It looks like this!
To crit my own bust:
The eyes are a little weird, somehow they don't look very realistic. Could be more defining.
[But hell the hours I took to do these pair of eyes]
Nose is a little too big at the tip, needs to be curved down.
Juicier lips, lips length seems uneven
Face could be sharper,hair taller

Can easily judge here but to do it's a another story..

These days whenever I set my alarm to 5.30 so I can wake up earlier to do my assignments, I get up at 5.30 and press exit, I don't even bother to snooze anymore =.=

3 more weeks to holidays!
