The vb textbook's on my lap now. Wana study but don't feel motivated, don study, feel abit guilty. =.= Contradicting.
I miss school leh. I rather do assignments than study for exams. I wana get out of my house!
You know like in the lab, there's many people chionging assigments. Then you walk around kpo abit on people's progress, talk talk joke joke, kanchiong whether can make it ornot, buy some snacks then continue doing. I like that feeling! haha. Then the countdown timer shows up people sian diao and hearing the technician shout "lab closing!". haha. Kinda miss that.
Recently been very high on a Taiwan/HK/Spore/China? drama: 小鱼儿与花无缺. I am so looking forward to the weekends night to watch the next episode.

Assignments
Finally finished my assignments 2 days ago and I'm quite happy with it =)
DEUI: Its actually the first assignment I finished so early like 2 days before the deadline. Maybe because it didn't have sections like quiz or galleries, just sections of info categorised into 3 topics and some animation.
VB: I think this is the first time I worked a project with Xue Jia. She always comes up with lots of theories and "cheat codes" that I everytime -.-'' haha. But anyway I think we could have done better if we knew how to use those menutabs or whatever it is. Fun working with ya!
IWED: We kept chionging the coding and neglected our design. Its the first time we did an assignment in school till 10pm. Video didn't even do until so late. In the end the coding works but we got penalised heavily for our design. =.= But I'm happy with what we've done. Besides ShuPing being late everytime we meet up to do IWED, she's very clever :3 Nice working with ya also!
DEAE: One of my favourite assignments. Last minute realised one of my sections was linked wrongly and I couldn't edit it because the school coms didn't have the font. Given more time I could've added some music.
CANI: The toughest assignment this sem. It was nice to work with Brenden, ShuPing, Nicolette and Mark. The only thing was my animated part, the fire looks abit crappy. Thanks to Mark's lighting and editing, our sheeps look great. Lucky there's the rendering farm which saved us alot of time. Good job people! =D

So yeah, I finished my year 2 assignments! Time passes so fast next semester is ITP. I actually prefer doing assignments than mugging for exams. I miss assignments already!

experience
Yesterday I went for an interview @ Mediacorp. Firstly I was thinking sian so far away but turns out I've got a direct bus from my home to there. The reception was cool with lots of plasma TV showing obviously their shows la. haha. I waited for 15mins then a guy came to shake my hand welcoming me in. I didn't bring my portfolio and they asked for it, so it was rather malu. But anyway they were nice and friendly people. It would be really nice if I could get in. They weren't looking for a graphics design person though, not even if you know dreamweaver. =/ Don't think I'll be able to get in. Self sourcing is like kinda late especially I have another interview appointed by the school to MOE. But I'd like to work there.
So today I went for an interview at MOE. I thought working at MOE would be nice too cos MOE sounds prestigious being a government thing. But the environment seems like everyone's doing their things and its like quiet, the very office boring feel. Just a first impression. Anyway Trey and Mark Hong went before me and say its a programming job. I was like sian 1/2. But luckily its actionscripting. Flash programming at least I know a bit about actionscripting so hopefully it won't be too bad. But still don't know whether I'll get in la.
Gained some experience through these interviews especially the mediacorp one. Always bring something to show there and sell yourself more to them. :3

Davy Jones is 3D!
Thanks to today's CANI lecture then I know Davy Jones, from Pirates of the Carribbean is fully CG. Before that I thought its some awesome guy acting in an octopus costume o.O Knowing its 3D animated kinda revived my interest in angsty Davy Jones again! Can't wait for the third movie!
Anyway we finally had our PTN lunch today @ Jurong Point's Swensen with Ho Kah Hong. He paid near $300 for it :x cos we had main course and ice cream. Ok la.. nothing much to talk about also, talk about DEUI some ocasional laughs. We were all fascinated about Nico's tongue tying a knot with the cherry stick. haha.
Today like do nothing much for assignments due to the MLP test and the lunch. Yesterday while doing IWED we were joking about "programming god". Some people don't turn up much for lessons yet they know alot more than us do. Not genius then what? haha. Or people like WenJie tries php on the day itself and solves more problems than us, figuring the codes for hours and still not don't know how to do. Geniuses.

春乐齐鸣
Just came back home from the concert not long ago. Finally its over. The annual concert we've been working so hard for. I want to thank all those who came to support. =) Thanks for coming.
Qizhou was the most worrying thing on my mind, good thing it at least turned out much better than the rehearsal imo. After that I tried to enjoy myself while playing so much so that I didn't look at the score and forgot where was I playing. I figured I couldn't focus reading the score without my mind wandering off somewhere.
I feel satisfied, remembering when I first entered spco and heard chun I thought I could never play that. I learnt alot of things making this concert, publication things, ticketing, finding people.. Never did so much things for a concert before. What we've worked so hard for ended in just merely 2 hours. I'm happy and a little sad that the concert's over, after all the difficulties we've been though, I'm glad to know more people better. I started with no knowledge of what is supposed to be done, with ocasional panicks that I forgot to do certain things. Now finally everything's done, its a relief.
After that we went to eat with so many people, I had a great night =)
There's so many things I want or rather need to learn from scratch when it comes to playing erhu. When I was tuning, YiJun happened to be around me and said "wai xuan gao yi dian etc" [He's like always happen to be around whenever I'm tuning without a tuner and can't seem to get the note right. ] Kinda demoralising I can't get it right myself after so many years of playing. =.=
Anyway after tonight its chiong assignments week, hopefully I'm able to finish them properly..

2 Days to Concert
I think I'm more stressed about the qizhou than the assignments. haha. It sounds so uber crappy, everyone not together.
Scared no people come, scared our qizhou bring spco name down..
As for assignments.. I just reached home from Xue Jia's house doing VB. Now still not completed. =.=
My mind's all blank now.
I just heard a music piece from Amelie- Les jours tristes (instrumental) flashed in one of the Channel 8 commercials. Note its channel 8. So that means they do know the movie la. Can they just show Amelie on TV please..

musician
Well-known musicians not only have talent but they also met people who gave them the important helping hand. Or so I interpreted from what they meant in one of the eps in Nodame Cantabile.
I had a really great time playing the songs today.
I remember those days when I can't sleep because I was too excited over the actual performance on the next day.
-
Ok I'm thinking too much.

Nodame Cantabile
Nodame Cantabile is about a guy Shinichi Chiaki, a talented pianist who wanted to be a conductor and of course Noda Megumi a weird pianist. Anyway for a drama about music, the most important thing is for the actions to synch with the music. I'm surprised how well they go about sychronising the music to the camera shots. For the starting few episodes I really thought these actors know how to play the piano, the violin.. Of course I'm not a professional player to see properly la. But the editing job really will be tough for these kind of shows.
And the copyrights they have to get approved because they used so many classical pieces, [not sure whether classical music have copyrights, maybe not if the composer like Beethoven died years ago?] Pieces from Mozart, Schuman, Chopin, Brahms, Schubert and more .. and I only recognised Rhapsody in Blue out of so many music played. So sad right.
What I liked about Nodame Cantabile is its light-heartedness, sometimes the exaggeration that earns a few laughs, the knowledge of music involved definitely is a plus. Ueno Juri did a great job acting Nodame because most of the time I find such exaggerating loud characters annoying. But I heart Nodame and of course Chiaki-senpai.. ^∇^
To create an orchestra that lasts forever, an orchestra that everyone wants to join, an orchestra that everyone enjoys playing with an amazing conductor.. From the S orchestra to the Rising Star Orchestra, a short little girl playing the double bass, a punk guy playing the violin, the quiet oboeist, to the gay timpani guy who worships Chiaki..
Everyone should just watch this show =D

Subarashii
Nodame Cantabile is my most favourite Jap drama ever.
"Subarashii (Wonderful)," I said to myself as the last song ended. I was so touched by the music I unknowningly said subarashii to the computer screen as if I'm part of the audience.
Even though while they were playing I thought to myself whether [Tamaki Hirose] was really conducting like a conductor to an orchestra would, whether he learnt conducting to act in this drama. When the last note of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 ended, I'm awed as the camera shows him in tears and sweating profusely.
omgomgomg.
Subarashii.

[I'll continue this in the morning]
