He Cracks Me Up!

Zack is such a funny boy! He is so easy going and has such a fun sense of humor that he is easy to be around and hang out with. Lately he has really cracked me up! It started last week when (as a family) we were discussing music and looking up videos on you tube. Nickelback has a song that is fun but not particularly nice. Matt knows I like this song and told the boys, "mom has an evil streak in her." Zack's brain translated this differently and confusedly asked "mom is an evil streaker?" So funny! We all laughed for a long time on that one. Then yesterday when he got home from school I had to leave for a doctor appointment. I asked him to preheat the oven at 4:30. Then when the oven got hot to put the casserole dish from the refrigerator in and set the timer. He was not so excited about this because it required him to stay home with Ty and interrupted his plans with his friends. In his frustration he asked "why do I always have to cook dinner?" Again I had to laugh! I didn't realize preheating the oven and putting something already prepared was considered "cooking dinner" and I can't remember asking him to do this any other time.

He is such a fun boy but the teenager in him is even funnier! Love you Zack!

Our Longhorns Lost :(

It was rough seeing the Longhorns get beat last night in the BCS Championship game.  Longhorn's QB Colt McCoy got hurt early in the game, and they struggled after that. After Colt's injury we had lost hope, yet Texas came back to within 3 points in the 4th quarter. If a few specific plays would have gone Texas' way, then they would have won.

We don't want to remember Colt like this...

But, rather like this...

I'm not sure if Becky will continue to be a Texas fan now that Colt is gone. I guess we'll have to see what the future brings.

Becky and I still had a blast seeing Texas play their last home game against Kansas on November 21, 2009.

You're Going to College?!

Yesterday as we had dinner I told the boys that I was going to do a lot of homework that night so that I could watch the Texas vs. Alabama game tonight. Ty began to beg me not to do homework so I could play with him, then he began to reason with me by telling me that I had school on Monday night, so I didn't have to do homework on any other night.

I said, "It's not like that in college."

He replied, "You're going to college?" He was totally shocked.

Ty's idea of college is living on campus and being on the football team.

(FYI...I'm going to Weber State University for a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) degree)
