Miss Fisher exhibition

So, I've mentioned before that I absolutely love Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and I was so excited when Bonita from Lavender & Twill suggested we go together to see the costume exhibition when she was in Sydney. Season three of the show was full of amazing pieces, and I loved seeing the pieces - so many of them I had swooned over on screen! That mermaid costume! The evening dresses! And that amazing red, white and black set in the final picture that would've been so risqué in 1920s Melbourne, I adore it.

One of the best things about seeing Bonita was planning our outfits together. We went for a purple and black theme, and I was pleased to pull out one of my favourite 40s dresses from the wardrobe. I love the floral detailing on the pockets and neckline! Bonus, the venue was just perfect for photos!

The exhibition is on in Sydney at Old Government House at Parramatta with ticketing information here. It is also coming to Brisbane, so check it out if you can!

Face of Daisy Jean 2016

Wowee it's been a BIG weekend. Aside from all the shenanigans this weekend which will be in my next post, I had to hold in the news I'm the Face of Daisy Jean for 2016 until yesterday! I am so freakin' excited about this opportunity to work with such a great local small business that focuses on supporting other women and makes such beautiful product. I can personally attest to this having bought some myself!

I will be shooting for Daisy Jean Florals early next year, but until I kick off officially next year, you can check out Daisy Jean on their website, or etsy shop.

Candifornia Pool Party!

Thanks to the lovely team at Sherbet Birdie Photography and their ingenious idea to have a pool party, I spent yesterday afternoon floating about on a blow up donut in the pool and chatting with beautiful ladies. What more could you ask for?

Making bubble wrap neck wear a thing

If you follow me on Instagram, no doubt you saw me looking ridiculous with a giant bubble wrap bow around my neck on Friday night. My 'brother' held a cocktail party for the his 21st birthday last week with the theme 'outrageous neck wear'. I pretty much fashioned this bubble wrap bow at the last minute because I had made a neck piece for the party with a thousand sequins hand pinned, and doofusly left it at home. Hours of my life I will never get back, nor praised for. Given this bow took me a grand total of two minutes and a couple of bits of sticky tape to make, it got plenty of attention. About as much as the guy with the toilet seat around his neck.

I also carried my Dorset Rex bag for the first time. Super duper love this bag, it's exactly the kind of bag I've been hunting for awhile.

Rose Seidler House Fifties Fair 2014

What could be a better time to return to outfit posts than the Fifties Fair? Feels good to be back on here wearing something so fabulous. I snapped a few pics at home before I left because I wasn't sure if I'd get any decent photos there, though I'm sure plenty of other people did! I posed for photos galore.

I love the vibe at the fair... they're my people. Everyone is always in a fantastic mood, with compliments flying, and sharing tales of your outfit with people. Not even the rain could dampen the spirit. I had a lovely chat with two ladies who wanted to know how I wear vintage on a daily basis, and another chat with a lady who used toilet rolls to pin curl her hair! I also made two little purchases which I will be sharing on here soon - can't wait to show you!

I bought my hat purposefully for the event. Of course, I think I cursed it, as it decided to rain for awhile during the middle of the day. Oh well! The Melissa shoes were also a brilliant purchase for the grounds - what between all the mud and wet, I wasn't worried about destroying my shoes.

Perfectly plum

I'm just crazy mad super in love with plum tones at the moment. It is a distinctly autumnal colour to me. So rich and warm, somehow. I wore this last week on a busy day. So busy my shoes gave me blisters, ouchy!

I really enjoyed wearing my Art Deco Pagoda pendant again. It's such a statement piece. I had shop assistants, friends & co-workers all commenting on it.

The Enchanted Florence

I love those Saturdays when you wake up and you just know you've got a lovely day ahead. I went into the CBD and wandered the David Jones 'The Enchanted Florence' window display with oohs and aahs. Then I treated myself to a decadent hot chocolate and wandered through Hyde Park, past St Mary's down to the Art Gallery of NSW to meet the lovely Caitlin to see the Sydney Moderns exhibition. We were blown away by the artwork in the exhibition.

A stop off at the florist was the final treat. Coming home with a huge bouquet of flowers always makes me feel happy, especially after all this amazing colour!

How was your weekend?
