Food Journal

Have any of you ever kept a food journal before? I've started keeping one the last couple of weeks and it's been pretty eye-opening. I'm not really trying to keep to a "diet" or anything... I'm just using it to gauge how much I really eat. And YIKES!
But it's turned into a really good thing for me. I know that I'm going to be writing down everything that I eat, so it helps me to stay away from extra snacks (the first week I realized how much I mindlessly ate while I am sitting at my desk during my 8-hour shift). Plus, it helps me see that I don't eat a balanced diet. Where the heck are the fruits and veggies??
Oh yeah... I'm picky...

I sometimes keep a journal. Well, I do when I am eating healthy. But when I don't it generally goes something like...

Eggs for breakfast with turkey bacon...blah, blah, blah, healthy lunch... HORRIBLE! I ATE HORRIBLY FOR DINNER!! AHHHHH!

I am not that good at keeping one... so props to you!

It sucks thinking about food before you eat it. That is how I lost the baby weight though. It helps to realize how much a portion is and to stop eating when I am not hungry. The only thing is I have gained some back because I quit thinking about it. Good luck, especially on those fruits and veggies. they are the hardest!
