Dou Itashimashite Hello there. You've stumbled upon Charmaine's blog.Remember to tag before you leave. :D
Oh, it's just another fangirl. I'm Charmaine and I live in sunny Singapore (means that I'm located near the equator, where it's summer, summer, and when I wake up the next day, it's still summer). I don't usually expect presents on 7 April, but if you're feeling unusually happy you can give me one on that day. (:
I'm currently crazy over... Happy Birthday Ohno Satoshi!

I'm still here but...
Thursday, November 19, 2009, 12:15 AM
...but I won't be updating often. Probably will update when an Arashi member's birthday arrives, or when someone asks me to relink them. If by any chance you need to contact me, just drop me an email (if you have my email). Alternatively, if you comment/pm me on YouTube, Blogskins or LiveJournal (look to your left), I'll probably see your message, because I get an email whenever I get a comment from someone in those communities. Unfortunately, I'm not getting a Facebook account so don't bother trying to contact me via that platform. Bye! Enjoy the Nov/Dec holidays :D
Shige's Birthday
Sunday, July 12, 2009, 3:29 AM
Oops, no birthday graphic this time. But I'm glad I celebrated it with other NEWS fans. Yes! A fan gathering! xD I really enjoyed it. Even though it wasn't an Arashi fan gathering, it's still J-pop :D Through this fan gathering, I learnt a lot. Like how age doesn't matter.. Like how suddenly it's so comforting that so many others know the lyrics to the songs. Like how it's so awesome to see a fangirl in real life, dancing JE. Like how brilliant it is to hear them sneak in Japanese phrases in between sentences. Like how amazing it is that I finally got the chance to play group JANKEN (imagine playing scissors-paper-stone with 16 people). The one thing I won't forget from this fan gathering would probably be the part where m-chan did the 'Sugoi' action. It was clear that m-chan, lyn and a few others were imitating someone.. but who? I was thinking, "Have I seen that before?" HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN. I'm so annoyed at myself. Sho did it in the episode where Toma came as a guest for VS Arashi! I'm slow ne. Plus, Sho was incredibly adorable when he said it. Ahh~ Sho-kun! Don't worry! Even if you belong to the '下の下の下', we still love you (and each and every one of your !fails!)

Sho's hair...
Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 11:58 PM
Sho got a new haircut. I miss his previous hair already. ): I think the last time his hair was this short was.. what, 9 years ago? For a period of time, after Arashi's debut, his hair was around its current length. Then after that, it grew long, and stayed long for 9 years. For some reason I'm feeling self-conscious about HIS hair. ^^; I'm not even that conscious about my own hair. I do hope his hair will grow back quickly. (: PS. If you want to see his hair, search 'うたばん/Everything' on YouTube.

Warning: Fangirl post. Just skip. If you're reading this, I suggest that you ought not waste time on this post, but instead, TAG ME! (: I spent the entire night yesterday watching all 11 episodes of MAOU! Ohno gives off a really awesome aura. His real personality makes people belittle him. Spacing out. Man of few words. Then when he sings. Dances. Acts. WOAH. I start to think, "How hard has he been practising, exactly?" Plus his art. RIIDA SUGOI! xD He keeps amazing me with new things! Not forgetting Ikuta Toma. He played the role really well. Really well. Couldn't see a trace of Nakatsu in him. Back to Ohno ^^ Now I don't know whether Aiba or Ohno's my niban. Ichiban remains the same. Ohno still can't replace my ichiban, no matter how artistically inclined he is. (Ironically my ichiban is so not artistically inclined BUT I STILL LOVE HIS DRAWINGS xD) Ah, Ohno, you amazing riida. You played the role of Maou really really well. Your lines were calm yet.. your significant pauses were so intense. Now my ICHIBAN! I just watched Episode 9 of The Quiz Show II! Can't wait for Episode 10 to be subbed. I'll miss Sho when the drama ends (technically speaking it has already ended in Japan). The amount of expressions he can project on his face never ceases to amaze (and amuse) me. Then when his tears fall.. it hurts. This always happens. It's annoying, really. I would feel better if I cry with the characters but the tears don't come and so my heart feels like it's been wrenched and squashed. When Zero-One (Zettai Kareshi) died, I couldn't cry. When Kouichi cried (Ryusei no Kizuna), woah that really hurt. The stupid tears wouldn't come. When Naruse (Maou) wanted Naoto to kill him, and Naoto died instead, then Naruse died after that, the stupid tears STILL wouldn't come. Then when Kamiyama (The Quiz Show II) cried just now, my eyes only got wet because I was yawning. What's wrong with my tear ducts -_- --- If you've managed to read this far, this is what you should do next. The dramas mentioned above are one of the best I've ever watched. I highly recommend them. Absolute Boyfriend/Zettai Kareshi: Robot maker, Kronos Heaven, finally develops "Night Tenjo", the perfect male humanoid programmed to be devoted and completely loyal to his lover. The company chooses temp worker Izawa Riko to take part in a 5-day free trial. At first, Riko only sees Night as a household appliance. But when she finds out how deep Night's devotion to herself is, Riko finds herself falling in love with him. Joining the love triangle is Asamoto Soshi, a distinguished young executive at her company who has feelings for her. --Fuji TV Ryusei no Kizuna: “When we grow up… We’ll kill him together”. Koichi, Taisuke, and Shizuna are three siblings whose parents had been brutally murdered when they were just in elementary school, and they vowed to avenge their death. Fourteen years later, their vengeful plan unravels countless new facts. A shocking revelation leads to an overwhelmingly emotional ending. What will become of the siblings who have lived their lives solely in reliance of their bond alone? --DramaWiki Maou: This drama is a remake of the popular suspense drama The Devil that was aired in Korea last year. Ohno Satoshi will be playing the role of a two-faced lawyer, one of which is a kind hearted soul and the other who is plotting revenge, using his brilliant mind, on the person who killed his relative. On the other hand, Ikuta Toma will play the double lead role of the man, who has become a detective due to his dark past, who is pursuing the mysterious series of murders and fighting against the devil (maou). --DramaWiki *The Quiz Show II: Sakurai plays the host of a live TV quiz program. On the show, contestants who achieve 7 correct answers win 10 million yen, and those who get 8 correct answers will have one of their wishes granted by the TV network. But while the questions start off innocently enough, as the game progresses, the questions gradually delve into the contestants' past crimes or indiscretions, presenting them with the dilemma of having to confess their guilt in order to win. Sakurai's character also has a mysterious past. Before becoming the show's host, an accident had left him in a vegetative state for six years, which also resulted in him losing most of his memories. --Tokyograph *Only episode 1 to 4 has been uploaded onto MySoju. If you like the drama and would like to continue watching, let me know and I'll let you know where to find the rest. I won't bite. In fact I'd be over the moon. I can discuss the show with you xD Thanks for reading (:

Apparrently ants can't survive in a fridge
, 4:08 PM
A conversation between me and my brother. Me: There are ants in the fridge! Brother: Where? Let me see. Me: *shows him the cap of the unopened bottle of Wintermelon Tea that I just took out from the fridge* Brother: Oh, those poor frozen dudes... Me: How did they even get in there?! Basically I was just thirsty so I went to the fridge to take out a bottle of Wintermelon Tea. Then I saw 1 dead ant on the cap, 1 dead ant on the side, 2 dead ants on the base. Apparently they were frozen to death. Ewww. They probably came from the dinner table. Before the bottle was placed in the fridge, they were placed on the dinner table for some time, since the fridge was already full. So someone probably didn't notice the ants and put in the bottle straight into the fridge.
New skin

Arashi Concert in Singapore (petition)
Friday, June 12, 2009, 2:04 PM
Hey, there's a petition circulating around the online communities. For the sake of those without LJ (Livejournal), I'll post the petition link here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/arashiconinsg/ This petition can be signed by anyone who is willing to attend an Arashi concert in Singapore. You need not be someone who is currently living in Singapore. You need not be an Arashi fan. If you are willing to come, that's enough. I don't know if the person who set up the petition has a target in mind, but the bare minimum we'll need is 10,000. The number of signatures, as of this post, have only reached 129. C'mon people, let's help to make this happen! PS. Even if you don't want to sign it, if you know of anyone who likes Japan/if you have any Japanese neighbours/classmates/co-workers, please pass this message on to them. I'd truly appreciate it. The entire Singapore Arashi fan community would be extremely grateful. :D THANK YOU!
Expectations are officially healthy
Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 10:18 PM
okay, a rant. just ignore me. Expectations are often viewed as unhealthy pressure (especially when coming from parents). But from what I've experienced, I think that it can also be viewed.. sort of like, if people who expect me to do something/expect that I can do xxx with ease, it indicates that they believe in me/trust in me/want me to be able to do better because they know that this is not my best.

I usually don't realise how much I miss it until I find it again. Like the way I realised how much I missed Photoshop. Or just a while ago, when I realised that I really missed Arashi. Although my thoughts are predominantly Arashi, until I read their interview, I realised how much I want to see them. Is this a good or a bad thing? I don't want to spend my life on doing things that are sort of along the lines of: "I have to get these xxx grades before I can do xxx." That way I will never get to do what I want. I'd better go do my Biology homework. Not that I want to. It's not a chapter I'm fond of. Plants were more interesting. :P "Because you said so, I believe." - Lyrics from ORION I'll believe what Sho says, because he was the one who said those special words.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHO-KUN!
Sunday, January 25, 2009, 9:57 PM
![]() Resources: Photo | Texture | Brushes (1) | Brushes (2) | Font His recent words in a certain interview has given me much food for thought. Time really flies. Even the youngest in Arashi are going to turn 26 this year. And our dear Onii-san of Arashi has turned 27 today. It's already 11pm in Japan ne. I hope he had fun today :D I wonder what Arashi gave him. Maybe something special will pop up in Shukudai-kun tomorrow night! Or maybe they already gave him a surprise yesterday during VS Arashi. Wish I was in Japan. :P Where I could actually WATCH these programmes on the TV. Not through a small screen on my PC. :P I feel so bad. I didn't celebrate his birthday properly.. No huge icon batch. Actually I tried to write a song instead. But obviously it didn't work out. :P Like DUH. Since when did Charmaine go into songwriting? There's so much I wanted to say, to post, to think, and to write about. But there's so much of it that's slipping away. I can't remember. I wonder... Oh well. Whatever those thoughts were, I better go do something constructive. See you uhh... around? Next Arashi birthday to celebrate: 17th June 2009, Ninomiya Kazunari. THEY BETTER NOT PUT THE PRELIMS ON THAT DAY. I NEED to celebrate on that day. Plus it's Yu E's birthday. It'd be so awful to have a PRELIM EXAM on your own birthday. Thank goodness my birthday's in April. Labels: arashi, birthday, event, sakurai sho

Charmaine's disorganized thoughts.
Friday, November 21, 2008, 1:40 AM
There are so many things I want to say! Oh gosh. For example: 1. Massu has got to be the cutest ever! 2. Tesshi is definitely beautiful! 3. Arashi, oh Arashi, COME TO SINGAPORE! 4. LJ IS A BIG INFO SOURCE:D 5. OMG I FOUND AN ARASHI FANCLUB IN SINGAPORE TOO! 6. UWAH a Singaporean fangirl went to taipei for Arashi's concert and wrote in to Teens Magazine! That person.. I WANT TO BE IN HER SHOES! 7. Gosh there's so much to do and so little time. 8. I want to design more icons. More, more, MORE! 9. I want to hear TEGOMASU with NEW songs! 10. I want to be able to SING like TEGOMASU! Their voices make you feel.. inspired, you know? 11. I want to be able to sing with them some day! (yeah right I'd be extremely lucky to be even able to attend their concert) 12. I want to sing original songs! Any budding songwriters/composers/lyricists out there? Can I sing your creations? I guarantee I won't be able to a professionally beautifully inspiring job, but I want to try and practice. And I won't forget to give you credit if the song becomes famous some day! (yeah right like something I sing will become famous) 13. Ohhhh.. I want to create a music video in Adobe Aftereffects. The shooting of the video alone should kill me. Let me animate starry skies and fluffy clouds and you singing in a beautiful place of my imagination. LOL. 14. I AM SO DEAD. Tomorrow's the big day and I'm here fangirling. I can't help it! I've been resisting this urge all day! It hurts, it hurts on the inside to be unable to see them! Now that I can hear them, can see them, suddenly it feels like I want to create something special too. They are so inspiring.. I can't imagine how much stress they are going through. Yet they're inspiring us fangirls. Awww. I wish I could do a small picspam. Nevermind. See you around. [:

at your own pace
Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 10:21 PM
Do you remember, people always used to tell you this: Don't compare yourself with others. If your friend got 85 for a test, and you only got 75, it's still alright, because you improved by 10 marks (assuming you achieved 65 for the previous test). Usually, people tell you this to make you feel better about your own results. But have you considered it from the other perspective? Let's say you started to learn something totally, totally, brand new. Let's say you've started to learn Adobe Photoshop. In the Photoshop lesson, your teacher starts off with demonstrating the basics and all. She seems to be going at this super slow pace. You just wanted to raise your hand to tell her that she's going too slow for your class when you friend next to you yells out "Teacher! Go slower! I couldn't catch what you were trying to explain!" Unexpectedly, the whole class murmurs in agreement. Being the considerate person that you are, you keep your opinions to yourself. Gradually, you get used to the slow teaching pace. After many many many lessons, your teacher attempts to speed up the teaching pace. Suddenly you find that you couldn't catch. You've gotten so used to the pace. Do you see what I'm trying to explain here? You need not necessarily be slower than the others. What if you were born talented in a particular area, but because you were influenced from the beginning to think that you're supposed to go s l o w? Okay, Photoshop's like a really bad example to use. But think about it, there must be something unusual that you seem to be able to pick up a lot faster than others. It might not even be a skill. You might be really good at memorizing awesome jokes at first sight or something really weird that you wouldn't have even considered it. I realised this "at my own pace" thing when I was forced to pick up a brand new, totally new skill on my own, without any guidance at all (but it was extremely fun to do so). What happened was, my IT skills are all self-taught (up until recently). I was never given the chance to go for any IT lessons in the past. Suddenly, there's an IT trainer in my school. So now I'm like learning from her, yeah, and I get comments like "you're really picking this thing up really fast". It never occured to me that I was learning fast. Because I was truly alone and the only comments I got was from myself (and I'm a very harsh critic when no one's looking). Mostly I only got to teach myself in the dead of the night, because that's when I'm not in school and when I've finally finished all the schoolwork and stuff. And because I have such limited time to teach myself with, I probably unconsciously try to pick up everything quickly so I can go to bed and finally get a good night's sleep. In the process, since I didn't have any external influence, I was truly learning at my own pace. No one to slow me down. You can try that too. Forget what the others have said and just do your thing. You might not be faster than the others, but what if you were faster than you thought you were? Don't let yourself slow you down! Did I just give a lecture? I must be growing old. ): MY NEXT POST WILL BE ON ARASHI! 'BEAUTIFUL DAYS' WAS RELEASED TODAY IN JAPAN YOU KNOW! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE PV!

We Can Make It!
Tuesday, October 28, 2008, 9:20 PM
Initially I planned to feature the "Step and Go" PV because it's so beautifully artistic, but when I was roaming around YouTube, I saw the "We Can Make It!" PV thumbnail and decided to feature "We Can Make It!" instead. Why am I featuring this? Because there are only 10 rehearsals left to the actual Musical performance and this is to remind myself that we can make this work, and we'll definitely get ourselves a standing ovation. Besides, this PV is really artistic too. It's nice to watch, even if you don't understand Japanese. :D We Can Make It! - Arashi Theme song for the JDrama - Bambino! Unable to look back at the passing days everyday Just how long will I continue to follow this path? The rhythm you can feel in your body The beat becomes wings The hesitation becomes the running approach Precious to the point of pain We can make it true, the real dream is always right beside you An endlessly wide world, the lone one that sparkled My dream! My dream! (We can make it! We can make it!) Unable to recognize the important things, overflowing tears in my eyes Just how far ahead will this become a forgotten feeling? What a feeling! With as much as I have The strength will become wings I'll overcome the loneliness And plunge forward into tomorrow We can make it true, the unwavering dream is always right here An endlessly wide world, right this minute I'll take hold of it Your dream! Your dream! (Oh yeah! We can make it!) Tears are surely not the end of sadness (the footprints of the dream) With fevered heart (from right here, right now) that story begins Sing your dream! All I'm doing is silently writing out my dream reading my goals, heading beyond into the direction of my imagination, go go and go, so on and on All I'm doing is silently writing out my dream reading my goals, heading beyond into the direction of my imagination, go go and go, so on and on I said it, go go and go, so on and on I said it, yo-ho and go, so on and on We can make it true, the real dream is always right beside you An endlessly wide world, the lone one that sparkled We can make it true, the unwavering dream is always right here An endlessly wide world, right this minute I'll take hold of it Your dream! Your dream! Source: http://www.jpopasia.com/lyrics/6084/arashi/we-can-make-it!.html Yatta! Only a week left to the release of Arashi's new single, Beautiful Days! (scroll down for the song) The CG done on the Beautiful Days PV looked really pretty in the preview. I can't wait for the actual. Furthermore, when the PV comes out, that's when the extension lessons are going to end. Awesome, ne? (: Labels: arashi, lyrics, youtube
Beautiful Days
Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 7:59 PM
Arashi's new single, Beautiful Days, is absolutely beautiful! It's like a beautiful collage of Planetarium (by Ai Otsuka) and CardCaptor Sakura songs! (just my opinion) It has an entirely new feel to it, yet anybody who has heard Arashi songs before will be able to recognize Arashi's touch to it. You can feel the energy in their voices. In this new single, their voices are strong yet gentle at the same time. The sweet melody and lyrics give a refreshing new touch to the whole Arashi collection. :D Arashi is so versatile! They've done pop, rock, r&b, jazz, rap, basically everything... But above all, they're truly good people. They might not be the tallest Japanese boys (they definitely aren't that tall), but they have big hearts of gold and they'll always shine, whatever they do, wherever they go. Let's hear the song, shall we? :D PS. View in high quality here for sharper lyrics! By the way, this is the "incomplete version" of the song (because you can hear Nino and Ryo talking towards the end). So far, only the incomplete versions of the song are around on the internet because it's a really new single and the full versions haven't been uploaded yet. I'm so going to buy it if I'm not broke by then (: PS2. This is not the official PV for Beautiful Days. It's a fan-made video by an Arashi fan (bless her for the adding the lyrics, translation, and putting the video together). I can just see the stars in the sky in the PV... bet it's going to be beautiful, just like the song title suggests. (: Arashi's PVs have always been artistically-inclined (eg. Pikanchi Double, Step and GO, We Can Make It!, Sakura Sake... :D Maybe I'll post those PVs here someday. Or you could do a YouTube search; they're everywhere) YATTA! ARASHI IS THE BEST ANTI-DEPRESSANT IN THE WORLD! Fangirls like me go high when we hear their voices :D
Overdose of Drama
Thursday, October 16, 2008, 10:06 PM
I just spent the whole day watching Zettai Kareshi (literally translated means "Absolute Boyfriend"). The synopsis was really interesting, but after a while... the drama got really annoying. I think it's because it was getting draggy, somehow. Then, I started to watch Kisarazu Cat's Eye because it features Sho, but I couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes of episode one because it seemed to be another one of those dramas with a bad storyline. And the first 15 minutes didn't feature more than 15 seconds of Sho. So I kind of stopped. Now, I really feel like watching Kimi Wa Petto (You're My Pet). If I remember correctly, I've watched it twice and it was funny, meaningful and just really good to watch. But crunchyroll removed it and it's down on mysoju as well! On the other hand, perhaps the reason why I couldn't keep on watching is because I already watched too much drama. Maybe it's an overdose of drama. Too much information. I'm feeling disorientated as I type this. I think my sentences don't link each other either. But I still want to watch. I don't want to sleep because I don't feel tired (how tired can you get from sitting in front of your computer for 10 hours and watching a draggy drama?). But I have to sleep or else tomorrow I'll die during rehearsal. Labels: jdorama, kimi wa petto, kisarazu cat's eye, zettai kareshi
Happiness - Arashi
Wednesday, October 15, 2008, 12:21 AM
This is the song which I've featured on the skin itself! Here's the English translation for the song! Happiness - Arashi Source: http://www.jpopasia.com/lyrics/6782/arashi/happiness.html
I'm not dead!
Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 2:21 AM
YES I AIN'T DEAD YET! I AM ACTUALLY UPDATING! :D I am, at this moment, VERY PLEASED with this skin! It took me almost 3+ hours to code it today (just look at the entire colour scheme). The image was even harder to fix. Extraction alone murdered my brain cells. Extraction has got to be the most boring thing in the entire web-design realm. After that, I tried to add a design to the umm.. design. Initially it was completely blueagh. Completely lacking in depth. Then after a few hours, I finally added a few more elements which made the skin passable. But it lacked PUNCH. But as I spent nearly 6 hours on the image alone (inclusive of time spent on extraction) on Sunday, I had gotten a headache from all the computer-screen-is-bright stuff (and mainly the extraction gave me a bad headache even though I played Arashi songs during those torturous hours - I probably wouldn't have survived extraction without Arashi). Then just around 7 hours ago, when I looked at it on Monday night, PAH! Inspiration hit. PAH! I put in the rainbow! Okay you may find the rainbow girlish, childish, or whatever. But you've got to admit it adds life to the skin. The basic colour scheme for the skin is a sort of pale greyish-bluegreen. What an awfully lively colour. Whee. Okay, enough irony. (I can't help it, after all, I'm a Lit Elect student.) I know full well I can't do extraction properly, so Arashi fans out there, forgive me for doing a poor extraction of Arashi. Speaking of Arashi, I am so dedicating more future posts to Arashi. More songs, images, information, EVERYTHING :D I really ought to be asleep. The only reason why I'm burning the midnight oil on a Monday night is because Tuesday (14 Oct) is the only day I Ah. I forgot how much I really enjoyed all this web-design stuff. Usually during the schooldays it's just trying to complete assignment after assignment, study for test after test, making a conscious effort to have enough sleep to survive the next day, and sufficient rest from the Saturday and Sunday morning sleep-ins is all I ask for. I really forgot, what it means to truly enjoy something. Well, I'll probably forget again once 2009 arrives. I'll probably get tired of this skin soon. OH ONE MORE THING! ARASHI, O-YASUMINASAI! WE, THE ARASHI FANS, WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! :D
Dedicated to Judy
Sunday, July 27, 2008, 3:00 PM
This post is dedicated to JUDY! (: Here are my replies to your replies to my questions: 1. Thanks! I shall dedicate this post to you too. Hmm. It's about time Yu E got herself a blog. So that she can dedicate posts to us too. Haha. (but on the other hand even if we force her into it I bet in the end she won't update it unless she's forced to) She's just not into computers. *sigh* 2. Linked (: I considered linking you as Jules, but that alias is too obvious. I couldn't link you as Eleanor (derived from your email), because I have a junior named Eleanor. 'The Insomniatic One' or 'Randomly Inspired' is just too long and the name itself would attract attention and I get the feeling that you're not looking for attention so I didn't put that. If you want me to change the name feel free to suggest (: 3 & 4. Actually I owe Li Ching a blogskin. I'm dying to make one for you too. But with all the tests going on, this is definitely the wrong time to start creating skins. If I remember correctly, my last Common Test for the year falls on Week 7. Hopefully Week 7 to 10 will be test-free and I can finally do a skin or two. (: 5. I know there's not much of a storyline for book one. That's because Stephenie Meyer didn't even plan on publishing the book! She didn't plan to even write a full book. All she did was pen down a beautiful dream that she had. And her imagination got out of hand (Twilighters like us are so glad she couldn't control her imagination) and tada! - Twilight is born! For the subsequent books, she did do actual planning so I recommend you continue reading New Moon and Eclipse. The final book, Breaking Dawn, is coming out next Sunday! I CAN'T WAIT! xD 6. Woah. Did the VJ dentist make you get braces or something? Notes to Self: The things I need/want to do once the tests are over: (not listed in any particular order) 1. Complete N.E.mation! III entries. 2. Watch 'Spirited Away' with my team. (: 3. Go ice-skating, duh! 4. Complete Finale Notepad tutorials for Sop 1. 5. Design blogskins for Li Ching and Judy. 6. Along with Elaine, teach Jia Xuan how to blog. 7. Start working on the birthday presents that I owe people. ^^; I'm starting to feel guilty for not studying in the previous hour. See you in a few weeks, people (:
Ice-skating!
Sunday, July 13, 2008, 9:14 AM
I've never tried ice-skating before. Yesterday was the first time and I had the best time ever :D XU CHANG CAME BACK! I thought she'd be good at ice-skating. But we were all wrong. She didn't ice-skate during winter in China! She totally wasted the natural ice there. Then she come to hot hot Singapore then ice skate on "artificial" ice. Haha (: Xu Chang, winter must practice ice-skating, then next time come back can compete with Huiling! I'll miss you but the thing that keeps the sad feelings away is knowing that you'll be back. So remember to practice ice-skating so when a guy asks you out for ice-skating, you can show-off to him! Haha :D When I first started out on the ice I went: "I am not skating anymore. Get me off the ice! Help!" Obviously, instead of getting me off the ice, my friends taught me how to ice-skate. At first, I couldn't stop clinging to the railing. There was one part, I had one hand on the railing and one hand gripping Jia Xuan's. Then I let go of Jia Xuan's hand. She was happy initially, until she realised that I released her hand so that I can grip the railing with both hands. MWAHAHA:D But after some time, when I got to a certain part of the ice-skating rink, there was one part with no railing. I was like O____O. So in the end, we formed a human chain, with noob skaters (me, Xu Chang) in between the good skaters (Huiling, Fangwei, Maryam, Jia Xuan, Xueni). Actually Fangwei and Maryam were first-time skaters too but they picked it up so fast! So hand in hand, our human chain made it across the "treacherous" part of the ice-skating rink. After some time, everyone got the hang of it but Huiling remained best skater. She then told me about Li Ching's ice-skating. She said that the 2nd time Li Ching when ice-skating with her, Li Ching could already skate faster than Huiling! Can't wait to see them compete with each other (: Now, I'm suffering from muscle aches. There's PE tomorrow. I'm gonna die. The muscle aches haven't fully come out yet. It'll come out tomorrow, or later on today. My legs are gonna die. LOL. Sorry no pictures because I don't have time to draw today. Got tuition later. See you people! Labels: ice-skating
Express Yourself Day
Monday, July 7, 2008, 7:01 PM
EXPRESS YOURSELF DAY was AWESOME, wasn't it, people? I should have brought a camera! But I didn't. I kinda forgot, like usual. So I drew the following after I got home last Friday, in a weak attempt to remember some of it. By the time I got to the 3rd drawing, almost all my memories of that day's events were gone. :P That's how bad my memory is. ![]() "Do you smell nail polish?" "Yeah I smell it too!" "Where is it coming from?" ![]() Ahem. The infamous "catwalk". (if you can't recognize the person, look at his hair.) ![]() The female teachers! (I know it's not a very accurate interpretation, but I'd already forgotten the details.) I wanted to post these up on Friday but I just couldn't get a chance to. Tuition, you see, ruins a weekend, as usual. Labels: photoshop
Slacking.

Hey:D Here's an excuse for you to watch TV. For those who want to practice for your Chinese Oral Exam, try this for 5 minutes everyday (5 minutes is enough to give you a headache): Turn on Channel 8 at 10pm and you don't have to watch the news. Just read the subtitles that flash on screen, and read them out loud. After 5 minutes, whilst your mum's in her room or something, you can change to another channel. When she comes out again, you continue practicing for your oral. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone! Ahaha. :) You get to practice and watch TV at the same time! As long as you put in effort when you read the subs, 5 minutes everyday should be enough. I did that for a week and somehow my oral has improved. The reason's because the subs flash really quickly and if you can actually manage to catch every word accurately, you should be able to handle the stationery piece of paper they ask you to read during the exam. If you can handle flashing words with chim words like stuff about politics, how tough can a passage (which will most likely be about some cliche philosophy story about the principles of life) with stationery words be? Furthermore, if the examiners ask something about the news for the conversation topic, because you've been paying attention to the news for simply 5 minutes everyday (the first 5 minutes contain the most important news so you only have to watch first bit before the first commercial), you can answer the examiner easily. Because you've been keeping up to date with the news. Killing 3 birds with 1 stone. You get to practice for the passage reading, find something to talk about for the conversation part of the exam, and get to slack and watch TV at the same time. This isn't studying smart. It's SLACKING SMART! LOL:D

Maybe not maple, I've lost all interest in mapling. RS, or Photoshop, maybe? 11.Your overall impression of him/her is ... Didn't I answer this question above alr? Low self-esteem
Friday, June 13, 2008, 11:11 AM
WARNING: HUGE RANT. You'd better not read. Just let me rant so I might feel better. I. Am. Suffering from low self esteem again. After viewing approximately 2 hours of artwork, designs, photo manipulations, drawings and stuff by people with exceptionally professional design skills, I feel miserable. As usual, all these people are SELF-taught. Like everyone else on the internet. So I have every reason to look down on myself and be jealous of them. I do not compare myself with people who have no experience with photoshop - that's a very despicable way to make myself feel better because it's not a fair comparison. Oh man. I don't want to do my homework. I want to learn. I want to start learning how to do photo manipulations. To make my own pretty brushes (Note: I know how to make brushes - just that all are terribly hideous), pretty patterns, pretty textures, awfully moving photo manipulations, I want to do that pretty vector thing. I want to use the pen tool to make those awfully classy tentacles, flowers, bursts of colour, shiny starry galaxy backgroundy-things, blend, do proper lighting and shadowing in photo manipulations, awesome colouring effects, SOTD. Yes I want SOTD. But I won't go around asking people to rate me 5 so I can get it. I'll earn it. I won't despicably self-advertise on others' skins. I want to earn it fair and square. But I probably won't ever earn it. Not when O levels are coming, performances, and not when real life gets in the way of my online life. How I wish I have all my revision and homework complete. How I wish I have perfected my choral singing. So I can get a life. So I can get a life online without any worry. I wonder if getting into poly will help. Doubt it. They'll start teaching all those theory things. How did I get into this mess? I'm starting to wonder which one is me - Is music my life (I thought it was in May)? Or is the computer and the internet my life (I'm starting to think this way in June)? Edward or Jacob? EDWARD<3, DUH! Music or internet? Umm... On a happier note, Jia Xuan finally created her own blog. Oh finally. (: But I'll link her when her blog is more complete. And I don't approve of the skin (yesterday I approved but this morning I found out something) she's chosen because I just found out that the person who made it RIPPED off http://www.portfelia.com. I'll let her know about it when I get the chance to so she can change it. I WANT MORE TIME! TIME TIME TIME! Most of my peers all have branded goods on their wishlist in their blog. I have some material wants, yes, but the thing I really yearn for most is TIME. Give me more time. I can't finish my holiday homework. End of rant. I feel worse than ever. Saved by Yu E
Monday, June 9, 2008, 5:01 PM
I finally did something useful. I contacted Yu E and asked if I could go to her house to do homework. She said yes! (: Hopefully, she'll discipline me and make me do my homework. I sound crazy, I know. But it's somewhat a SOLUTION. Even if I don't finish ALL my homework, at least I can show some to the teachers when school reopens. On Wednesday, when I go over, I shall surprise her with her birthday present! (: You're probably thinking, "If you want to surprise her, aren't you afraid she'll read this blog entry and find out? You're not making sense, woman. -.-" Actually, although she's like my BEST FRIEND, she doesn't even know my blog URL. Haha. Yeah. (: The COMPUTER is like my LIFE. Yet, my closest female friends are all anti-computer people. I mean, they don't even have blogs. It's so sad. But in a way it's a good thing. That's why they all have better grades than me. :P No distractions while they study. Labels: rant
Phobia
, 12:29 PM
There's only 2 more weeks of the June vacation left. I haven't done my homework, revision, or any school stuff. I AM DOOMED. OFFICIALLY. I still have activities for the next two weeks and it adds up to about 7 days. That means I have one week left for my holiday assignments. Which is IMPOSSIBLE. Before the holidays started I did take a small glance at what we had to do. My rough estimation was THREE WEEKS TO COMPLETE, according to my own speed and standards. I AM MORE THAN DOOMED, OFFICIALLY. CAN SOMEONE SAVE ME, PLEEEASE? Edward, where are you? Save me! Tutor me! Edward, do something, please! Make me a vampire so I can skip school for the next century! I'd have gone to Forks to find you, if I could. Stop daydreaming and wasting time, Charmaine. Reality hurts. DOOMSDAY HAS ARRIVED. Labels: rant
Tutorials are UP
Friday, June 6, 2008, 10:37 PM
Yes, I finally managed to get the tutorial section UP. Took me approximately 23.5 hours spread out over the past 3 days. Yeah, 3 days ago was when I got the fever. But it's alright actually. When I do the coding, the only part of me that moves is my brain and my fingers. That's it. It's as effective as reading a book in bed while waiting for the temperature to go down. (: Anyway, CLICK and visit the tutorial section! (: Please do not post your HTML queries on the tagboard on your right. Use the tagboard in the tutorial section. Similarly, don't post conversations on the other tagboard. The tagboard here on this page is meant for storing crapful conversations, and the tagboard on the other side for non-crap queries. Thanks for reading this (: Labels: tutorials
fever
Wednesday, June 4, 2008, 9:14 AM
Last night my hands and feet were ice cold under my blanket. And I'd been wrapped under the sheets for over an hour. It didn't hit me that my sore throat led to a fever. Not until I realised that my face was warm and my hands were cold. So I put my hands on my face to make my face cooler and my hands warmer. lol. And this morning when I woke up. My mum was wondering why I felt so warm. My temperature was taken. Guess what? 38.1 degrees Celsius. Oh well. With this headache (caused by fever), fever (caused by sore throat), sore throat (caused by "singing" high A flat), it's not advisable for me to go for choir today. And spread the virus whenever I open my mouth to "sing". Hope I don't miss out on a lot today. Today, I shall attempt to write a good HTML tutorial. And after that, I'll probably go practise the piano.
oh no.
Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 3:23 PM
Oh no. Thanks to 'Yesterday', I have a sore throat. The word 'Yesterday' here has double meaning. 1. Yesterday, I had to sing crazy high notes (ranging up to high A flat) for a few hours in choir. 2. Why did I have to reach the high notes? Because the person who arranged the choral version of the song titled 'Yesterday' (by the Beatles) arranged for Soprano 1 to have to sing those high notes. Yay. What's the best part? I have to continue my shrieking of the high A flat tomorrow. Sorry for the sarcasm. I get really agitated when my voice is in a dangerous condition. I think I shall go re-read Eclipse now. (: YAY FOR EDWARD CULLEN! <3 PS. I got my mum hooked onto the Twilight series. Mwahaha. :D Labels: rant
Personality Quiz
Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 5:34 PM
![]() I came across this and just decided to do the quiz. Note: I'm not 95% musical. I'm simply obsessed with music. I think that's why it's so high. Labels: quiz
Sort of fixed
, 4:40 PM
Okay my blog's pretty much fixed. I'm just lazy to put the tutorials up. Umm if you're wondering about the name/URL of my blog, it's because I had marshmallows on Sunday and yesterday, also known as Monday, I was pretty much hungry when I was thinking of a name. I didn't want some chim bombastic (I think I spelt bombastic wrong) word, so I used marshmallow. My prev blog name was Silver Melody. I was thinking of Silver Marshmallow and it was like ughh. ARTIFICIAL. Then White just popped into my head. A nice, natural colour of the marshmallow. Why not? So TADA! There you have it. Hmm I wonder how I should go around telling others to relink. I don't even know who links me. My blog's pretty much dead. And as some of you know, charmaine.celestial-butterfly.com, my prev URL, has died so I can't put a page there to tell others to come here instead. Um, hm, um.. I'll go worry about relinking issues later. Oh, to anyone who's reading this, just a treat for you for coming here when my blog's newly launched: Here's a video for you to watch. It shows the Tsubasa Chronicle seiyuus (voice actors) recording part of an episode in Season 2. I found it pretty entertaining.
Moved!
Monday, May 26, 2008, 12:39 PM
Hey everyone. Yes, I've moved. Why? Because the previous domain expired. Why didn't I inform you earlier? Because I wasn't informed by my hostess (in other words, the owner of http://www.celestial-butterfly.com/) that her website'll be expiring. Argh. Now I need a new host. And I don't like hunting for hosts. It's a terribly ... umm, well I just don't like sending the application, waiting for it to come back, moving everything in, and then have to leave in a few years when my new host decides that she doesn't want that domain anymore. You must be wondering why I don't wanna use Blogger and get it done and over with. Because I can't upload files onto Blogger. Blogger's kinda limited. I don't know how to explain. But Blogger's just limited. What am I talking about? I'm confused myself. Anyway I'm just ranting. I think. I wonder why I'm so terribly sarcastic today. Maybe it's because I've got a lot of exposure to sarcasm recently, from reading and re-reading the Twilight series, written by the wonderful Stephenie Meyer. :D LONG LIVE THE GOOD VAMPIRES FROM TWILIGHT! :D I'm so random today. I think it's time I stop ranting randomly and start moving my blog into Blogger. Maybe this'll work out and I can upload some stuff onto Blogger. Maybe.
