with 1mth+ left, i know this really sounds crazy to most of you...yesterday i just finished marathon sending ALL my kain to dressmakers for measurement :P

they still keep all sketches, so each session didnt take long. i brought some prints for their better reference and this is one of them...my fave cosry-wannabe buttons for the back details..love the pic so much sebab the neckline was something im looking for too...the boatneck..offshoulder...scoop etc whatever you may call..

fiance advised to re-try my ring since i've lost some weight..i may need to resize. so the noon was spent at jeweller..yeap, the ring now abit longgar..since im planning to lose few kgs more, our SA suggest for resizing to be done only by end Jan & he promised the process nothing longer than 2 days...baiklah! :) p/s : their Lazare now on 30% sale...bencinyeeee...

fiance's nehru now sent to his father's fave Antonz..they berborak like nobody's business sampai i tertido while waiting for them! coming 23rd is the fitting..praying hard the result as good as the bill...

semalam we met the baker. this aunty very very nice & full of ideas...but i prefer to keep the cake design just as the pic in mag...simple :) we only change the topping part, which this aunty very keen of doing hydrangeas hehe...and she even made us few samples...so as of now, bye bye peony!

then headed to klcc..catching some sale, mostly tinggal the leftovers...fiance got his white shoes for bertandang, happy :)

inspirasi baju nikah

last 2 weeks, we met the designer & shared him this inspiration for my baju nikah. im not blessed with any creativity to design & sketch my dream dress, so i just pick few pix of favourite dresses and do the mix & match of my preference.

for nikah, my all time fave is white kurung moden...with some lace patching & sulam. while design wise, i love any kurung moden with bukaan kebaya in the middle...similar to diana-zamarul's reception dress featured in recent Pengantin mag :)

i told them to lining the lengan as well, but make it abit jarang from the rest portion of the dress...like what aleya had...(copycat lagi hehe...)

btw, i didnt tailor my veil from same designer sbb too expensive :( ...i hope to find other tailor to jahit my veil soon. but i need the designer to potong the lace portion for dress first, so i could take the remaining for veil patching...honestly, malu gile nak request him to do that but i dont have any choice...

few things to update in one entry :)

yesterday noon, we met this designer & get him to sketch few designs with cosry's buttons. i'm still waiting for quotation, hopefully not lari much from our budget :( as the discussion about to end, fellow blogger Sue arrived...she sooo prettty. hopefully, this designer help to solve stuffs that bothering her since she came back to kl.

then we jln2, checking out progress of our house. tinggal basement parking je belum cat, lps ni will garu kepala again to find money to do the grill, beli kipas lampu etc before we could rent out to tenants. market price nearby is higher than our monthly payment, so oklah i think to rent out :)

after pekena nice roti arab at this cafe, we jln2 at few shoplots. check out what i found at this kedai kasut.

almost similar to my prev post :) and the price is only rm59.90! murah, kan? if u dont mind kasut with no brand hiks..i grabbed one sbb tak tahan they so cheap hehehe!

mlm i belanja my fiance cos 3rd Oct is his bday :) the dinner ruined my diet somehow, but im happy that fiance loved the place so much (and the food too!). our fave is their crunchy crabstick & tom kah seafood. again, happy 25th to beloved fiance :)

i loveeeeeeeeeee the side flowers by her pelamin. so gorgeous with dangling crystals...remind me of this! and the pics just gave me idea where to hang the DIY butterfly (which if u malas, u can get crystal butterfly from SSF)! pretty!





love the detailing at her veil too..i guess i'm bias, cos i love chiffon heeee.

no, im eyeing hantaran at the back one! white pinkish cymbi one of my fave orchid (apart from white phalaenopsis) :) tapi berangan je lah, cos they're soooo expensive. fiance kata tanam sendiri kalau nak jimat, hehe :P perli la tu.

dress & buttons

i have posted this pic a year ago, when i was freakingly hunting for right turqoise dress for my wed. im still clueless, until now i cant really decide how my reception dress should look like. the more survey i did, the more i cant decide..options out there are too pretty to be missed. and finding a good designer/tailor to do a dream dress, particularly within my budget is really challenging!

one thing that i'm sure of, i wanted something with button yang banyak2 tu (i called them cosry-wannabes dress hehe). and nothing overboard, since it's for reception taking place at my home sweet home. the theme should be homey as possible :)

and below seems my favourite, humble one by Syomir Izwa. design of 2007.



i already had the lace. all i need is plain white chiffon for kain part. and i need the A-line too, to balance my wide hips :) without veil pun ok.

i love kebaya pendek. but i dont mind to get them labuh if my designer think it's the best to hide my hips. but not too labuh like cosry's - i know my bonzai body wont look good in it hehe.

i'll alter the design abit. neckline shouldnt be too exposed, for bertandang oklah kat kl kan :) and lengan part, should be panjang, not 3-suku - and add some buttons please. see, told you i love the cosry's buttons...hehe.

for finishing, i already bought Swarovski crystal in jakarta. tak banyak lah, nak suruh add sikit2 je. if no embellishment langsung, nanti nampak mcm baju pengapit je kan hehe :P

again, im not putting too much hope...all i know now, some fats need to be shed off before my measurement this coming dec, haih...!

we've settled payment for both rings. for safety, we're keeping those rings with jewellers, until coming february :)

we then head to few boutiques, hunting tailor for our reception dress. walking to different buildings agak mencabar during ramadan hehe!

first boutique, SA like clueless why we're looking for them to tailor reception dress?
second boutique, nice dress & affordable rate but SA busy layan ppl looking for bj raya. what la.
third boutique, workmanship cost already beyond our budget..
fourth boutique closed!
fifth boutique. a designer, and amazingly cheapest of them all! include veil lagi (my earlier plan not to wear any for my penang reception, in case i change my mind..)

since last boutique is darn cheap, fiance will get his bj melayu tailored there too. while fiance's baju nikah will send to same tailor during engagement sebab 90 ringgit je, kemas & sangat sedap dipakai. the one left is his nehru suit for bertandang. cheapest quoted by this one designer is rm400(workmanship only). any other recommendation? :)

i've met tailor for my baju nikah last sunday. im pretty scared cos no testimonial from friend or anyone. saw her lace patching & beadwork from old bridal mag and happened her rate within my budget. maka, gamble je. december baru nak measure, gamble lagi huhu!

also requested her contact no. for makeup artist in penang, suggested by abg Man earlier. hmm, esok-esoklah contact. tak semangat sgt, cos his result biasa je. hopefully price biasa-biasa too.

for nikah accessories, i'd always prefer pearl. Maya Karin also having one during her reception. tunggu dress nikah siap dulu, only then can decide. veil not included, this shop in ampang park selling pretty veil, and the color varies too...last resort if i cant find nice & cheaper one.

apart from bride with handbouquet pose, next to my favourite is pic of bride's long veil, taken from bottom, with bride headturn like below; to me it's artful & sentimental - esp when the pic able to catch detailing of the veil ;)

knowing me the clumsy type, i dont think i'll be comfy in chapel/cathedral veil. risau je terpijak2 then gone sume yang dipakai hehe, so all this while i decided to playsafe with fingertip length. until last night when mr dressmaker sketch kan my dress with long veil, and hardly convinced me to wear them. yosh, dress dah train, veil pun meleret lagi ke? over la, his reception kat dewan je bang bukan hotel! he showed samples of his clients, gorgeously taken by Ikram and the weddings were in dewan too, night reception mostly. he got my buy-in finally, but i warned him jangan meleret sangat if not confirm aku nangis takmau pakai hehe!

2 days progress

hari ini dapat berehat di rumah, setelah berhempas pulas over the weekend di negara orang. nothing really much changed since my 1st trip in 2007 - except our staff complex dah siap & occupied. their kharuf still my fave, and the greens by Nile river too :) found nice pink chiffon with sari border sold at their souq, terfikir utk pengapit, niat dibatalkan setelah dibelek pricenya 200 Sudan pound (nearly rm400, gulp). maaf cik pengapit, budget tak lepas. so budget itu digunakan untuk membeli satu barang hantaran ketika transit di dubai hehe.

fiance came back from PD, and we get to settle few things yesterday, including :

- change my ring setting. no more my fave princess cut illusion.
- bought shirt & necktie for hantaran. Isetan on megasale now :)
- met up bertandang dressmaker, paid my deposit while measurement will be in nov. new heels, handbouquet included. he secured makeup with my fave too, alhamdulillah :)

dress neckline

last few days were hectic. with piles of work coming each day, nothing sounds that i can reach home earlier than 10pm for at least next 2 weeks :( i'd promised myself, tonight is my me-time & i should write something here :)

fiance is getting white nehru for bertandang and the theme is going a little contemporary for his side. being a fan of MK's classic white dresses, i know it just not me to be wearing anything too modern or trendy esp for wedding dresses. so my choice, im going for contemporary classic instead; and one way of doing it, making my dress neckline to this off shoulder type, rather than my fave v-neck kebaya :)

i googled some infos on this, and found this type of neckline will help to balance wider hips - it's a countless blessing esp for heavy hips bride - like me!. additional to it, our neckline will guide us to right jewellery/accessory for our big day :) and for this neckline, recommended for choker, princess or Y-drop; exactly as what this bride had :

i'm home and returning to office with piles of work waiting is ... *yawn* blogging will keep me up, so let's do some wedding update :)

slight change to reception dress.

silver lace with soft tiffany lining bought earlier was veto-ed off by mom. agreed, it wasn't my 1st choice pun. the one i was eyeing selling at rm230/m in Silk Route Mayestik, so for 5m tailoring will definitely ruin my pocket! well basically, that was how i ended up with cheaper silver lace & reserve my white french lace for majlis bertandang.

but but ....

not after my visit to Tanah Abang last sunday ... one of textile shop at basement selling the exact white French lace with tiffany blue flower at similar pricetag ....except, it came with big 50% discount sign on top! the barganing went on, we finally settled with rm95/meter wheeee...!! *will share shop info & my just-back report in next entry*

we reached Mayestik by 6pm. with heavy rain outside, we decided to survey only up to 4 nearby shops and the final & longggg stop was at Silk Route. Mr. Gobin recall me; the girl who belek that white french lace with tiffany blue flower for hours but akhirnya tak beli jugak ..... dang! i showed him the exact lace bought in TA and he was screaming right after he knew the price wahaha :D
