Creative Blog Hop!

Hello again! This is my second post for the day. If you are looking for my Lawnscaping post, keep scrolling down or click here! :)

I have special post to share with you today! I was tagged by my friend, Allison, from One Happy Crafter to participate in the Creative Blog Hop! So, I will be answering a few questions so that you can get to know me better!

A little bit about me first: I am married to my college sweetheart and I am currently a stay at home mom with my 10 month old little girl (that picture is old - she's a lot bigger now!). We are very involved in our church as the youth leaders and in other roles, so that definitely keeps us busy! I have been crafting for about 4 years now (when I received a Cricut as a Christmas present!), but did not start stamping until maybe 3 years ago (and I don't think I will stop!) Ok, now onto the questions:

1. What am I currently working on?
I am usually working on upcoming Lawnscaping Challenges (I'm currently creating a card for the November 3rd challenge). I am also trying to start Christmas cards so that I don't have to make a ton of cards at the last minute (but I'll probably get distracted and have to do a bunch at the end anyways). I might also participate in a small craft show soon, so I should probably start making a bunch of cards for that. We'll see if I get that far!

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I'm not really sure how it differs from others, but my cards are usually very clean and simple with punny sentiments and cute images. Most of my work includes images from Lawn Fawn (because they're just so cute!!). I don't usually jump on current trends either, but just kind of do whatever I enjoy the most. And that is usually simple, punny cards. :)

3. Why do I create what I do?
I create because I really like mailing cards to friends and family or making little gifts for them. I like to help brighten their day and put a smile on their face (hence the punny and cute cards!).

4. How does your creative process work?
Well, I don't have much of a "process." I usually just create and see where it takes me. Therefore, it usually takes me a long time to get cards and projects done (hours and sometimes even days!). Plus, I have a 10 month old little girl so I don't have much time as it is for crafting (but I wouldn't trade that time with her for anything!). If I have a specific idea in mind, then it usually doesn't take too long and I can get a bunch of cards done at once. Usually, I just try to relax and have fun crafting!

So, now it's my turn to tag someone else, and I tag Yuki from Handmade by Yuki! I started following her blog recently through her participation in the Lawnscaping Challenges and her cards are always so inspiring! I am always looking forward to seeing what she creates and I'm sure that you'll be inspired as well! Don't forget to check out her blog on October 27th to learn more about her creative process! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Lawnscaping #92 - Halloween!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Did you do anything fun? We were able to spend the weekend visiting family and attending a wedding! It was so great to see everyone! And weddings are so much fun to go to! That was the fourth wedding that we went to this year! Whew!

Anyways, it's time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge! Since Halloween is coming up soon, the challenge is to create a Halloween themed card, or to use the color combo in the picture.

I decided to go with a cute Halloween card, so this is what I created:

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Finley's ABCs" die, the grass from "Gnome Sweet Gnome," and a bunch of images from "Critters in Costume." The sentiment is also die cut from brown patterned paper for the Sweater Weather petite paper pack. Those Halloween critters always make me smile!

The sponsor for this challenge is Lawn Fawn and the winner will receive a free stamp set of their choice!

I also wanted to let you know that there is a design team call for the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team! You have until this Saturday, October 25th, to enter! Check out the Lawnscaping Blog by clicking here to get more information! I can't wait to see what you guys create! :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Merry Christmoose!

* This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Lawnscaping post, please click here or just keep scrolling down. Thanks!

Hello again! I am super excited to be sharing a card on the Lawn Fawn Blog today!

The best thing about alphabet stamps is that you can create your own sentiment, so here is what I created:

This card features a ton of Lawn Fawn items - patterned paper from "Snow Day," "Stitched Hillside Border" die, "Violet's ABCs," "Critters in the Arctic," and "Hats Off to You" stamp sets, and Sky Lawn Trimmings. To get a softer look for the snowy background, I covered the patterned paper with a layer of vellum. The snow flakes are also embossed and cut from vellum (yes, I'm a little bit obsessed with vellum!).

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that you have a great Monday! :)

Lawnscaping #91 - Patterned Paper

Good morning everyone! Did you have a nice weekend? We were able to hang out with some friends this weekend at a wedding! It was beautiful and we all had such a nice time! Weddings are so much fun to go to! :)

It's the first Monday in October, so that means there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge! You'll like this one, it is all about patterned paper!

Here is the card that I created for this challenge:

I used a bunch of different patterned paper from Lawn Fawn's "Sweater Weather" petite paper pack. I used "Finley's ABCs" to die cut two of each letters - one in the patterned paper and one out of black card stock. I used the black letters to give it a shadowy look. I also added stickles to the patterned paper to make it sparkly! The birds are from "A Birdie Told Me" and the sentiment is creatively stamped from "Our Friendship Grows."

This weeks sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate!

Etsy Shop Saturday!

Happy Saturday! Can you believe that it is already October?! Where did the summer go? I am excited though because the leaves are already starting to change colors and they look so pretty! Fall is my favorite season!

I have a few cards to share with you from the Whimsipost Etsy Shop today! If you follow my blog, you may remember this card that I made a while ago:

I liked this card so much that I decided to make a boy version of the card, too! Here it is:

Both of these cards are now available in the etsy shop! I think these are both so cute and they are the perfect card to include at a baby shower or to welcome a new baby home from the hospital.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other items in the Whimsipost Etsy Shop! Have a nice weekend! :)

Etsy Shop Saturday!

Hi everyone! I have a quick card to share with you from the Whimsipost Etsy Shop!

A long time ago, I made this card and I decided it was time to make it again in a different colors. So here is the "get whale soon" card in green!

I think I like the blue version better, but this one still looks just as cute!

I am also entering this card into the current Catered Crop challenge since it is all about get well soon cards! Perfect! :)

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great weekend! :)

Thank You Set

Hello everyone! I have some cards to share with you that I made for the current Wanna Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch for the current challenge:

And this is the mini card set that I made:

To create these cards, I cut 4.5" by 3.25" kraft card base and stamped Lawn Fawn's "Woodgrain Background" in brown. I die cut tags from LF's "Tag, You're It" out of vellum and "Sweater Weather" patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum from Simon Says Stamp's "Flower Friend" and added hearts die cut from the same patterned paper. Then, I tied the tags with some brown ribbon and attached them to the card base.

I think this mini set is so cute! I really like how the colors stand out against the kraft background.

Well, thanks for stopping by! If you get a chance, you should definitely play along with the Wanna Sketch Challenges. Lisa's sketches are always so cute and inspiring! :)
