Kinda like a diary of sorts for a gal who refuses to grow up but who's old enough to know better, likes her beach holidays, beer, gin, WoW, music, working out, reading, footie and nerdy, geeky sci-fi stuff...

Club won't be the same...
Thanks and farewell to icon!
Legs can't run as they used to but I would have loved him to stay another season...I feel like crying!

Brazil Annihilated
I think the world watched in shock last night as Germany ruthlessly battered Brazil out of the World Cup.
It was amazing to witness but I felt a little sorry for the hosts to lose in such a way.
Germany now meet Argentina in the final - I'm not sure who I want to win more, or who I want to lose more!

Time to Go
It hurts me to say it as he was our best player last season and is a football genius but Louis Suarez has got a problem and needs help.
To bite someone in full sight of the millions watching....unbelievable and I can only think that he couldn't help himself.
He deserves the ban and I'm afraid Liverpool need to sell him ASAP - they can't help him any more.
Apart from England's dismal exit, this has been one blot on an otherwise excellent World Cup.

Nearly Dead and Buried...
All season, Luis Suarez's goals have brought me joy as he banged them in for Liverpool.
Tonight, he killed off England pretty much single-handedly with his two goals.
England's fate is now out of their hands but it looks like an early flight back from Brazil.
Ah well, there's always Russia in 2018...
*sigh*
EDIT - England are dead and buried...roll on the tennis at Wimbledon!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Gosh, another year older and what have I done?
Not a lot really, except that this year hasn't been too bad for me so far - got a couple of challenging months coming up that are going to stretch me both mentally and financially but I'm confident I'll take it all in my stride, although at the time, I may not feel it! Does that sound like 'corporate speak'? Dear me...
Out tomorrow night with the girls, starting early at 2.30pm and then staying out for the England v Italy 11pm kick-off - I hope I remember to pace myself!

Brasil 2014
Amid rioting and protests over the cost of the competition, the World Cup started today in Brazil . I hope to enjoy this one, am collecting the Panini stickers (doing swapsies at work!) and we are having 'World Cup' Fridays at work too.
In the sweep, I have Cameroon and Honduras - may as well have thrown my money in the bin haha!
No expectations for England but I just hope the lads try their best.

La Femme
100 Happy Days - Day 93: Good to see a top female coach in football following the recent Scudamore sexist emails!

How Now, Slough?
100 Happy Days - Day 71: My non-league team Slough Town FC beat Rugby Town FC to reach the play-off final, to be played on Monday.
I'm off on my jollies then so I hope I'll be able to tune in.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about my 100 Happy Days thing as I may not be in a position to post while I'm away.
Perhaps I'll just post something really brief and then embellish when I get back.

Stick 'em up!
100 Happy Days - Day 68: I know they're a big waste of money but I could not resist a World Cup Panini sticker book!
No one to do swapsies with though!

Oops!
100 Happy Days - Day 64: Actually, when I laughed about the rumour yesterday, I didn't think it was going to happen! I left the house this morning and it was still a rumour. By the time I got into the office, the place was buzzing with people talking about it.
Ah well, what a shame eh, haha!

So Bitter
100 Happy Days - Day 63: I feel sorry for David Moyes but hope this will be the start of a manager-merry-go-round to cause endless years of disruption at Old Trafford! Yes, I am bitter and have every right to be!
On another note, it's been a nice long weekend, mostly relaxing, sorted out a lot of my finances - future is looking brighter!

Getting Closer
100 Happy Days - Day 62: After today's win against Norwich, Champions League football beckons after 5 years! Woo hoo!

Mackems!
100 Happy Days - Day 58: Really wanted Sunderland to get a result here and they did, thus making Man City stumble in the title race. Just need Chelsea to fail now, lol!

Get In!
100 Happy Days - Day 55: A heart-stopping match, thought we were going to lose it towards the end but we held on for a truly emotional win today, on the 25th anniversary of the 96 fans who died in the Hillsborough disaster.

And the Dream Continues....
100 Happy Days - Day 48: Was feeling rather tender after a night with the girls, so I didn't go out to watch this match. I don't care if it was a scrappy match won by 'dodgy' penalties but one step at a time...big match against Man City coming up next weekend though!

Dream Continues
100 Happy Days - Day 41: Today's win against Spurs plus favourable results yesterday puts the Scousers back on top. Dream is getting closer...

Joy and Dragons!
100 Happy Days - Day 36: Love seeing sad faces at Old Trafford! City are now in second place, above Liverpool but still, old habits die hard and I can't help being rather gleeful when United lose!
100 Happy Days - Day 37: Finished this today, it gets 5 stars from me. I'm still a little stunned by some of the events that take place in this book and since Martin is still writing book 6, it's highly likely that I'll re-read this book before that book comes out. This has got to be my favourite book series and author.

Chamber of Horrors
100 Happy Days - Day 27: Theatre of Dreams? More like Chamber of Horrors haha - love it!
I watched the match down at the gym, surrounded by Man U fans as usual so I was the sole voice cheering!
Get in - YNWA!
#100 Happy Days - Day 25 and Day 26
100 Happy Days - Day 25: Found out today that I've been nominated (along with another colleague SW) for the company's 'Talent Forum' - a collection of people who have shown potential to further their careers and who'll get a trip down to London, swanky hotel and all that apparently!
The thing is 'all that' will entail blowing your own trumpet and kissing arse, which is not what I'm good at. I'm flattered to have been nominated...really I am but all I can think of is the days missed off work and the catching up I'll have to do.
Still, this is a good opportunity to sell 'me', to network (and to get pissed on company expenses again!)
100 Happy Days - Day 26: Hitched a ride down with Mick a fellow MyFootballClub fan to watch Daventry against my non-league side Slough Town FC. A great match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, the hosts scoring an equaliser in the 97th minute (ref obviously had a watch he bought off Fergie on Ebay!).
The lads were well disappointed but it's a point away against a top team.
Cheering our 2 goals was worth the 280 mile round trip!
