Young Bunnies on the Ice

A little illustration I just finished, inspired by today's snowy Ohio weather!

One more with Abby and Ally

One more illustration with my bunny characters. I'm working on another one using "extreme perspective."

Bunnies

I was so busy nibbling on chocolate bunnies that I just didn't have time to add the color!
Maybe later!

Bouncy Bunnies

I haven't been posting illustrations and comments consistently, but I'm still very happy to be part of Watercolor Wednesdays. And this week's prompt was just what I needed to get busy!

The gift | The story continues...

More color versions of these earlier sketches. You know who the gift is for, but what is he knitting? ;-)

The gift | Color version

Here it is, in ink and watercolor, from this sketch. I'm using Lanaquarelle Hot Press paper, and sometimes I have a hard time controlling the washes. But I guess it gives it that unpredictable watercolor effect, right? ;-)
As far as the ink strokes, I've been trying to leave them looser and sketchy, and I think I like the results. What do you think?

The gift | 2nd sketch

Here's a more detailed sketch for my illustration project this month. I also did a few other sketches developing the character a bit, so you can definitely see where this storyline is going. I hope to have a color version soon. :-)

The Gift

So here's what I'm thinking... This little guy is planning on making a handmade gift for someone he knows. This is a very rough sketch, but that's usually how I get started: doing tiny, quick and very loose pencil or pen sketches.

He doesn't know much about knitting, but he wants to give it a try and make something special. What will that be? I have something in mind...

Tribute to Beatrix Potter

When I first started reading about Beatrix Potter, I was fascinated by her illustrated letters: the start of her career as a storyteller and illustrator. So here's my homage to Ms. Potter: my interpretation of her now very famous letter to Noel about a little rabbit named Peter. :-)

It was a dark and stormy night

...and this little fellow is trying to make it home! Don't worry, he'll make it!
Ink and watercolor, with a little bit of white goauche.
