Wow - it has been quite some time, since I've posted to my blog. Life took hold and I had put some things on the back burner. I still stamped with my club, however, posting to my blog was put off. I didn't have the time with everything else I had going on.
I'm trying to get back into posting again - I even updated my blog look tonight!
This card uses Baroque Motifs and was inspired by a card by Danielle Daws.

I'm not listing all the supplies here, however, if you want to know something specific - feel free to contact me. I'm just trying to catch up, so I'll get back to posting the specifics soon.
Happy Stampin',
Karen

Finally - I was able to get a challenge done and on time! Now when you see the picture that I used, you'll probably wonder how I ended up with what I did. It was simple though - since I haven't had a chance to stamp in awhile....I went really easy with this one. That is the best thing about challenges - you get to interpret how you want. :)
So, below is my card. I chose to go with 1 main color from the picture - hence the GREEN. Yes - my favorite color of all time, so like I said it was easy peasy!! We actually made this card at my Stamp Club this past Monday as well.

Things to Note:
-- I used the new Punch from the Punch Pack
-- The flower from the Itty Bitty Bits set fits perfectly over the flowers in this set
Below is the inspiration picture. Doesn't it just make you want to eat some fresh fruit!! I want a bowl of some fruit now so bad I can taste it!! Yum!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Thoughts & Prayers, Itty Bitty Bits (Summer Mini), Teeny Tiny Wishes
CS: Whisper White, Old Olive, Tall Tales DSP
Ink: Old Olive, So Saffron
Other: Scallop Punch from the Punch Pack (Summer Mini), Stamping Sponge, So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired - from SAB)
Thank you for stopping by! See you again soon!!

Unfortunately - I've needed a couple sympathy cards. These are always hard for me to make because of the emotions behind the reason for them.
This particular card was for my neighbor whose husband passed away. He was quite young and left behind his wife and 3 kids. They have sinced moved back to where her family lives and we miss seeing them around.

Sorry for the photo quality - I couldn't get a good picture no matter what I tried.
I stamped the Upsy Daisy flowers in Almost Amethyst and gently tapped it in Elegant Eggplant. Somewhat of Rock-n-Roll, but not to the full extent. I gently sponged the Almost Amethyst around the edge of the stamped piece.
I have plenty to share with you - it is just finding the time to get the pictures loaded and corrected. So, be sure to check back because I may just surprise you with more regular posts!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Thoughts and Prayers
CS: Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant, WW
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant
Other: Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Square Bigz Die, Stamping Sponge
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back again!!

It's Thursday, so you know what that means...it's Inspiration Challenge over on the UDI Blog. Below is the bright inspirational picture we were to use. Well, of course, this is right up my alley with the flowers!

Pretty obvious what I used for my inspiration, but just in case....I went with FLOWERS! :) I also added the grass amongst my flowers.
Things to Note:
-- I sponged the olive on the bottom of the stamped flower piece to shade in some for grass
-- I sponged around the greeting
-- En Francais was stamped tone-on-tone (Crushed Curry on Crushed Curry) So, wondering what set this is?? It is a brand new set that will be released in the new SU! catalog - Awash with Flowers. It is a two-step set floral set. It is available through the end of April for order. After the 30th, it won't be available again until July.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Awash with Flowers, Inspired by Nature, Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francais Background
CS: WW, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry
Ink: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Old Olive Black Stazon

Anyway - on to the good stuff! This week's challenge was a bright and fresh picture. Reminds me of a beach cottage room.

The coloring is off in the picture, but where it looks like a 'tinted blue' - that is really Whisper White card stock.
Things to note:
-- stamped the image and greeting in Craft Black ink
-- embossed with Black Embossing Powder
-- the butterflies are up on dimensionals

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Wishes
CS: WW, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
Ink: Craft Black
Other: Black Embossing Powder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Stampin' Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to check out the UDI Blog to see what the other Inspiration Team Members came up with!

I needed a card for a co-worker who a had a baby girl recently. I don't have any baby stamps, so I went with flowers and a butterfly. I made this awhile ago, but I'm just now getting a chance to post it. I CASEd the layout from another stamper - Krista D - over on the Late Night Stampers group.
Things to note:
-- I sponged all edges (including the butterfly) with Chocolate Chip ink
-- the butterfly is popped up with dimensionals
-- the stamped flower piece is popped up with dimensionals

This is my long ago post that I haven't been able to post. Shortly after my last post, my laptop essentially died. Well, it is back - I use that term lightly though. As I type - my screen is flickering and I'm worried it will shut down again. I seriously need to get it checked out, but it needs to be on when I take it in because once it's off....it may not come back on.
Anyway - back to this post. The picture below was given to us to use as our inspiration. To see the Inpsiration Challenges (among others, such as Sketch Challenges) - go check out the UDI Blog for more ideas from other talented SU! demos.

Things to Note:
-- I went with the brown (sepia look) and the daisies for my inspiration
-- To 'color' the embossed flowers, I used Shimmer Paint

Hopefully I'll have more to post and that my laptop will continue to work and I'll be able to get things posted.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Karen

I was given this set by a friend in a trade. I really like it and have been having fun playing with it. I've been on a quick and simple design lately. It seems like I never have time, so the quick and simple has been wonderful to get cards made!
Supplies:
Stamps - A Beautiful Thing
CS - Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey Paper (forget which collection though)
Ink - Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava
Other - Striped Brown Ribbon, Orange Candy Jewels (for the flower centers), 1 3/8" Square Punch
The card below was made by my oldest daughter, Madison. Every time I sit to stamp, she always asks if she can make a card too. She wanted to copy my card above. She picked out the card stock and ribbon. Then she went to work on her card. The only thing she asked me to help with was tying the knot for the ribbon. I think it turned out beautiful - not just bragging because I'm her mom either. ;) She decided to send this to her aunt (godmother) to let her know she loves her.
Supplies:
Stamps - A Beautiful Thing
CS - Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, WW
Ink - Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip
Other - Pink Dotted ribbon (from my stash), 1 3/8" Square Punch

These were the cards that I made for my co-workers. I needed something quick and easy because I didn't have a whole lot of time. So, I made 10 of these in one night. I had wanted to follow a design that I had seen on another blog, but I ended up straying from it. I love winter and snow, so this set by Papertrey Ink is perfect.
For the smaller snowflake, I stamped it in Blue Bayou and then stamped off once before stamping on the card stock.
Supplies:
Stamp: Snowflake Serenade (Papertrey Ink)
CS: WW
Ink: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou
Other: Crystal Stickles (for inside each of the snowflakes)

These are the projects that my club made for November. I had meant to post these awhile ago, but with Christmas coming up - I've been super busy trying to get things done. All while still not accomplishing much it seems! :)
This first card uses the Figures of Speech set (which is retiring at the end of the year) and Snow Flurries. I love this color combo as well - the soft blue and green are my favorite colors. I did DTP (direct to paper) on the WW square with the Soft Sky ink pad.
Supplies:
Stamps: Figures of Speech, Snow Flurries
CS: Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa, WW, Soft Sky Designer Series Paper
Ink: StazOn Black, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky
Other: Markers - Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa, Yoyo Yellow, Ballet Blue, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
This card was inspired by a couple I saw on SCS. I really like how this one turned out. Not sure I'd have the patience to make a whole lot of these though - a good deal of cutting pieces for this one. :) I did DTP to the main stamped image using the Old Olive stamp pad.
Supplies:
Stamps: Peaceful Wishes
CS: Rose Red, Old Olive, VV, Dashing Designer Series Paper
Ink: Old Olive
Other: Markers - Rose Red & Old Olive, Cream Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
This one I used a sketch challenge over on SCS. I don't remember which one though - sorry. This set was one that I just HAD to have, but haven't used it much. I love the images in it though and hope to get more use out of it. I did DTP on the stamped greeting piece with the Bordering Blue stamp pad.
Supplies:
Stamps: Festive Favorites
CS: Elegant Eggplant, Bordering Blue, WW
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Bordering Blue, StazOn Black
Other: Markers - Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant, Glorious Green, Real Red, Only Orange, 1/16" Circle Punch, Silver Brads, Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon

I made this for a swap on Go. Be Creative. I really like how this turned out. I finally got the pictures off of my camera and will have my stamp club cards to post tomorrow.
For this card, I took the Chocolate Chip stamp pad and rubbed it on the edges of the card base and also on the edges of the flower piece. I sponged the Chocolate Chip on the 'friend' piece for a softer look. I stamped the tiny flower on the main card with Sage Shadow. The inside was first stamped off in Chocolate Chip and then stamped onto the card for a lighter center. The main flower image is also popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Supplies:
Stamps: Text Boxed (Papertrey Ink)
CS: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, VV, Outlaw Designer Series Paper
Ink: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip
Other: Stampin' Dimensionals, Large & Small Oval Punches (SU), Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon, Build a Brad (SU), 1" Circle Punch (for center of the brad), Stamping Sponge

Ok - I'm going to try this again. I was in the middle of posting this last night when my laptop decided to shut down on me. I hope something isn't wrong with my laptop - if so, I'll be devastated!! I can't live without it! :)

I made this card for my friend. Her youngest child (son) just had his 3rd heart surgery. He is only 4yrs old and just the sweetest little boy. My Mackenzie and him are *sweethearts*. :) He says that she is his girlfriend. Anyway - the family has been going through a tough time and stressed over all this. He is home, but the recovery hasn't been as smooth this time around.
So, I made this card for her - just to let her know I was thinking of them. The inside has the full greeting from the set - Blessings brighten when we count them. I love this set. I think it is perfect for any occasion cards.
Now for the details - I used a sketch from SCS's sketch challenge - SC143. Definitely a fun sketch. Whenever I need a color combo, I usually will pull out my color wheel from SU!. However, with the new In Colors - they aren't on there, so I instead went to the Color Combo Website and loaded in the colors I was thinking of using. It then will give you TONS of color combinations to choose from.
All Supplies SU unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Stem Stilhouettes (Holiday Mini Collection)
CS: River Rock, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: River Rock, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi
Other: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon

Woohoo! I'm actually posting the challenge on Friday!! I'll apologize now for the blurry picture - I don't know why I can't take decent pictures with my digital (HP Photosmart E327). If anyone has suggestions, I'm open to them. I can take other pictures just fine, but can not photograph my stamping projects.
Anyway - our challenge this week was to create something with Orange & Black. Well, of course, first to come to my mind was Halloween. But then again, I tried to do something different. I will say - this was truly a challenge for me! I just kept thinking Halloween.
