SPOOKY

Ok - this little ghost isn't really 'spooky', so I added the Paisley background for some fun. He reminds me of Casper the Friendly Ghost. :) I don't normally make Halloween cards - mainly because I don't own any Halloween stamps. I did get this little guy for free with my last Whipper Snapper order though, so I just had to use it.

I used the sketch challenge (SC90) on SCS (SketchChallenge90) for this card - I just flipped it horizontal instead of vertical.

Stamps - Spooky (Whipper Snapper Designs), Paisley (SU!), Happy Halloween (LIWP)
CS - Only Orange, Ballet Blue, WW (all SU!)
Ink - Basic Black, Only Orange (both SU!)
Other - Prismacolor Pencils, Ribbon (Michaels)

Subscription Link

Ok - after much fiddling...I figured out how to add the subscription feed link to my blog! I usually don't have much in the way of problems with computer 'talk', but goodness....this really started to make me go crazy!!

So, be sure to add your email to get the latest and greatest posts from me - right in your email inbox!! LOL!! :)

I have a couple Halloween cards to post, but I need to download them off the camera first. I will try to put them up tomorrow - I normally don't make Halloween cards, but I got this particular stamp for free with an order.

Oohh - speaking of free.....I WON a FREE Inky Antics stamp!!!! YEAH!! I am so excited to get it and play. Every now and again on the IA Message Board they post what is a 'TAG' to a post. Those that upload to the gallery and link back to the original 'TAG' thread is then eligible for the free stamp. The selection is done randomly, so everyone has a fair shot at it. Anyway - I saw last night that I was the winner for the last TAG!!! How cool is that!! I picked one of the Girly Girl's - Coffee Girl. Super chic!

Ok - anyway....be sure to sign up for my blog's feed!!!!

Just Because

I used to only purchase SU! stamps. Then I hit a slump at the beginning of the year and contemplated letting my demonstratorship go. Well, I bought a couple stamps here and there - every since...I've been having a blast! I've found a renewed sense of creativity and excitement when I stamp. Now don't get me wrong - I LOVE SU! products/stamps and still buy (too much!). I'm just glad I branched out when I did and got 'back into' the craft I love to do!!

Stamps - Linen (SU!), Everything Nice (TAC), Here's To You (TAC)
CS - Whisper White, So Saffron, More Mustard
Ink - Black, So Saffron
Other - Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Word Window Punch, American Crafts Elements Ribbon - Uptown Orange, Stampin' Dimensionals (to give the main image some height)

SCS I-RAK Forum

Ok so you are asking yourself what I-RAK is?? It is Image Random Act of Kindness. Here we are able to wish for images that we would like to have and grant wishes for others that we have sets for. It is a great way to get images of a particular stamp (set) if you aren't sure you want to buy it. Or better - if you can't afford it (like me :) ), then wish for the images and it is like you have the set then!! Yeah!!

This image (Tire Swing by a*muse) was an I-RAK from genie1314. It is such a cute and simple stamp. a*muse images are very clean and simple. I've been having fun with a couple of their images and hope to get more granted. :)

Stamps - Warm Words (SU!), Tire Swing (a*muse), Paisley (StarvingArtistamps)
CS - Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Ink - Black, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Other - Aqua Painter (to watercolor the image), Ribbon, Sakura Black Glaze Gel Pen (on the tire), Glue Dots (to hold the ribbon in place)

Lasting Impressions with Panache

Here is one of the cards I created this month for LIWP. I had a lot of fun making this card and am really pleased with how it turned out. I am usually very critical of my work, but when I completed this one - I was just so darn happy!!

Stamps - Greater Stitchwort, 3 Square Block, Happy Anniversary (all LIWP)
CS - Whisper White, Bashful Blue (both SU!), Basic Grey (purple)
Ink - Basic Black, Bashful Blue (SU!)
Other - Ribbon, Bashful Blue Brads (SU!), Prismaclor Pencils, Gamsol

SCS Challenges

Every now and again (usually when I remember), I will check out the SCS challenges (there are different challenges for each day of the week). They are a great help to jump start me in stamping. This card I used the sketch challenge (SC89). I had fun making it and decided to send it to my sister for her birthday.

So - be sure to stop over and check out the challenges!!

What NOT to Leave out!

Ok, so I don't put away my stamping things. Yes - my dining room table is usually covered. This is because my stamp area is in the basement and I hate to be down there. So, I do everything I can to avoid having to go down there.

That said - this picture shows what I should NOT leave out!! This is my 2 yr old. She so curiously grabs my things off the table to inspect. Well, today she decided to inspect my BLACK STAZON pad!! OMGoodness! I'm used to her taking markers and drawing on my walls (although I'm not happy with it) and herself. This though caught me by surprise! I'm guessing she thought it smelled differently and wanted a closer 'smell' of it!!

Good thing though - it washed right off with some soap and water! Of course, my DH isn't too happy with me. This surely doesn't help my cause of leaving my things out for my easy access (which apparently is easy access to my 2 yr old too)! ;)

Definitely Girl Cards

This set is definitely super cute! This set was designed by Melissa Bastow (MissyB Designs - www.missybdesigns.com) for a special girl. It is called Alexa's Set - simply stated...it was designed for Alexa. She is a little girl who was born with Down Syndrome, had heart surgery at 3 weeks of age, and is now battling Leukemia. All proceeds from the sale of this set go to 'Turtle Girl Designs'. This organization raises funds for children's cancer research. Go check out MissyB Designs and get your set today! You won't regret it!!

Here are the first 2 cards I made with this set. They are all girl! My oldest, Madison, loves it as it is so cute. She is a 'princess' herself, so this set fits her perfectly!!

Challenges - what fun!!

Ok - if you haven't tried out the SplitCoast challenges (SCS) then you are surely missing out! I try to pop in there and do a challenge when I can. Well, this past holiday weekend was the perfect time for a challenge. Jen70 hosted a Limited Supply Challenge (LSC) for using 1 12x12 sheet of patterned paper for projects. You had to use the WHOLE sheet. It is like a OSW, but instead of stamping the paper - you use your patterned paper. Jen picked the challenge (with Jami's help) for 'paper hoarders' to get us to use our 'precious' patterned papers! :) It was a TON of fun to work on my projects and I was quite surprised at what you can create with 'limited supplies'. These are my projects that I created.

I've been stamping lots and having tons of fun doing so! :) I've gotten a renewed creative streak in me and can't wait to stamp the ideas!!

Well, just wanted to post real quick today.

Stamping Frenzy

Well, with remnants of Ernesto passing through on Friday and Sat., I had plenty of time to stamp. I had a friend over Friday night and we stamped. It was so much fun to have someone to stamp with - to actually stamp as well! I had images that were previously stamped (some were even colored in) that I used to make cards. WOW! This is the way to go - it was so quick and easy to get cards done with part of the work already done. So, I plan to stamp images and color them in here and there. Then I'll have images to work with when I can stamp for a minute here and there. Also - I used sketch challenges as well to make it even easier for me. :) Another plus that I'll be doing more often! This is one of the cards that I made (this uses one of the sketches from the InkyAnticsMessageBoard).

Supplies
Stamps: Hip Hip Hooray (SU!); Hobby Girl Cube (Inky Antics)
CS: Certainly Celery, Pale Plum, Basic Black, WW (all SU!), Basic Grey Gypsy Paper
Ink: Basic Black (SU!)
Other: Celery Brads (SU!), Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Blending Stumps

Today was the first official day for FOOTBALL!! Yes - I am a sports junkie as well (although stamping definitely takes priority!!)!! My DH coaches football, so it kind of 'fills' our house so to speak. :)

'Yawn'. Time for bed. We are going to my BIL's tomorrow for a picnic. Also, he is getting married in the afternoon, so I actually should have done up a card for him tonight. Guess I'll be doing that tomorrow before we go!
