For those of you who care. Here is what we have been up to lately:
Hallie only has 19 days of 1st grade left. She is already getting the summer itch and every morning she asks if she really has to go to school. The older she gets the more and more she becomes like her dad. She loves to know random knowledge, loves to watch discovery channel type movies, loves to play the guitar, and things she is very funny. She is always coming up with reasons of why things happen. She is very confident in herself and has no problem with self esteem. She is, however, learning that not everyone in the world tells her how wonderful she is like her family and friends. Kids are mean to her on the bus, friends decide not to play with her, not everyone laughs at her jokes, and some days are just harder than others. She is learning to deal with it and is doing a great job. She is out growing dolls and dress ups and is more into drawing and reading and being outside.
Annie is our little wonder. You never know what she is up to until you find her doing it. She is starting to become a little sneaky about doing things that she knows she shouldn't be doing and always acts so surprised when you catch her. She is full of questions lately and spends the whole time while driving in the car asking them. Her question the other day to our 75 year old neighbor "How soon is soon?" She can't figure out why soon is sometimes long and soon is sometimes short. We had her kindergarten orientation the other night and I have a feeling Annie is going to have no problem with it. She acted like a pro and it wasn't til we were back in the van that she told me she was a little nervous about it all. I found her the other day in her swimming suit outside running in the rain. She cracks me up.
Barry is turning a corner and becoming a lot happier. He is talking up a storm and we can't understand more than half of it but love the fact that he is trying. He always greets us in the morning with "Hi Mom, Hi Deed (that would be dad)" and he loves to say bye to everyone. We got him a little train set at Ikea the other day and he loves it. He is all about trains right now and usually has one in his hand at all times. He also is very into balls and now that the weather is warmer we have been kicking balls outside A LOT. He loves his new bed now and finally figured out that he can get up and down all by himself. He still doesn't get out of bed during the night or in the morning unless we come and get him. He is such a good little buddy and is so sweet. He is very good at listening and doing what I ask him. After Hallie and Annie (who never listened and always threw fits) it has been very refreshing. I say bring on more boys to the family.
Natalie is sitting up like a pro. She is the wiggliest, movenest baby we have ever had. She is constantly turning in your arms to see every thing around her and can not stand on your lap without jumping up and down. She is very content to be here and we love the sweet spirit she has brought with her to our family. She is eating more and more new foods and usually pulls a face at all of them. She says mama but only when she is starving or crying. She finally had one tooth break through and we think a couple more are on the way cause she is drooling and chewing on everything like crazy. She absolutely loves being outside and is very happy to just sit out there all day.
Bree- it is always awkward when I get to myself cause I never have anything that I want to tell people! I am so ready to be over the raining and snowing days. This winter lasted way to long and brought many depressing days with it. But with the spring weather coming once in awhile I have been back to running outside. Now I don't like to brag but it has been so fun running and watching the mileage go up quickly. I have made it back up to 9 miles and did that in 1 hour 6 minutes. Pretty great for me. I feel wonderful and love the amazing park that we live by. It is like running in the forest only on a paved road. In the 9 miles I never had to turn around or back track. It is a huge park and perfect for long runs. If you ever come out, you would be amazed. Oh, and I mowed the lawn for the first time in my life. It was fun and therapeutic in a way.
Tyler is now a 4th year medical student and the count down is on. One year til he graduates. Honestly, it has gone by fast. He is doing an ER rotation right now and loving it. But still not more than IM. He is doing a great job and all the docs that he rotates with speak highly of him. He is becoming amazing on the guitar. Don't worry for all of our family and friends in Utah, he is bringing it with him and I am sure he will be more than willing to play it for you. Tyler is simply one of the most amazing people out there. He does more for our family than I ever thought possible and yet still does so well with school.
