..as you can see from the picture above the long awaited photography exhibition in now on the Gallery wall and open for everyone to see. The photographs we are exhibiting are by 13 local photographers and as I said the other day there are some smashing pictures to be seen. Each photographer is exhibiting three pictures one of which is of Wanstead, I am delighted to say we have thirteen completely different views of Wanstead. One of the things I love about photography is the way we all see things differently...

Although the exhibition is now open Wednesday to Saturday 10.30 till 5pm and Sunday 10.30 till 4pm the opening night is  next Saturday. 

If you live in Wanstead or just passing through stop for a few minutes and have a look as these lovely pictures...

BLACK AND WHITE..

We're having a black and white month at the Gallery, the pictures went up on the wall today. We have done away with frames for these pictures and used very fine cord to hang them, it looks as if they are floating. If you'r around Wanstead do pop in and have a look there are 10 new pictures on the wall and if I do say so myself they look very smart. Many thanks to Mrs W who grabbed this shot.

BOOK LAUNCH AT 'EIGHTYFOUR'

Very busy afternoon yesterday at our gallery, 'eightyfour' in Nightingale Lane. Mike Edwards was launching and signing copies of his book 'Shelf Life', it's photographs and stories about 'people of note' of E11, E18 and E4. As you can see from the picture above the lights were burning brightly in the Gallery as people came in to see the book and look at the new Wanstead photographs that we have hanging. We have a few copies of the book in the Gallery, if you would like to have a look please pop in.

PAINTING IN CAMERA

The picture within the camera is a print of a painting by artist Mark Gooderham who does great work around Spitalfields and East London, he's a real talent. Mark and I are showing at 'eightyfour' at the moment, my photographs and prints of  Marc's paintings, all limited editions. If you couldn't make it this weekend it will be on show for another three weeks so pop in when you have a moment.

EASTEND EXHIBITION...

If you are around today at 2.30pm or any time after pop in to our gallery 'eightyfour'. It's the first day of our new exhibition of images of the 'eastend', Artist Marc Gooderham is showing prints of his fabulous paintings of the 'eastend' and there are new, never before seen, photographs by me to complete the show. Even if I say so myself there are some really good pictures on show, come in and have a look around. If you can't make it today the show is on for the next two weeks. FRIENDS OF WANSTEAD PARKLANDS PHOTO COM...

Great day yesterday, it was prize giving day at our gallery 'eightyfour' for The Friends of Wanstead Parklands photography competition. The Mayor of Redbridge Councillor Felicity Banks did us the honour of presenting the prizes with great enthusiasm and wit. The weather was kind and  there was a good turnout from Friends of Wanstead Parklands members, photographers and friends. Really enjoyable afternoon in support of a really good cause.
