It must have been the hottest day ever yesterday. On the way home from the Gallery I stopped off to have a look at the allotments in Redbridge Lane West, I wondered how the plants were coping with the heat. The scarecrow, all dressed up in finery looked as if it was coping well. There were apples on a tree, a solitary blackcurrant and what I think is corn growing. All going well then despite the heat.

What a great looking shed in the background, real allotment style.

There is something hopeful about this time of year, it seems full of promise. Although the blossom is on the trees most of the flowers and vegetables are still to come and allotments will come fully alive. I think sheds on allotments are great, they come in all shapes and sizes and like beach huts they are very personal and special. This particular allotment is in Redbridge Lane West.
