Design Team Announcement

After hours and hours purging through the Design Team applications that came in we made a few decisions and are excited to share them with you.

We'll be keeping six of the seven members from last term. They're happy with us and we're happy with them!

Hello, My name is Tera I am one of the luckiest people in the world. I have been able to marry my high school sweetheart and best friend! Not only does he support my crazy crafty dreams, but he encourages me to do more! I am a mom to 4 fur babies, and a full time Dental Hygiene student. I use crafting and stamping as a way to free my mind and calm the soul.

Hi, My name is Hermine Koster and I am from the Netherlands. I am addicted to rubber stamps and love to do mixed media arts, combining both is simply pure fun.Hopefully my work will inspire you.

I am a happy wife and mother to three daughters, living in the Midwest. I am addicted to mixed media art and craft, and see it as the world's most beautiful therapy. In the time I am not creating, I enjoying singing (I am a classically trained soprano), photography, sewing, hiking and swimming. I'm so excited to be back as a member of the world's greatest stamp company design team, and grateful for the amazing opportunity.

mellpellmell

Online I am known by the nickname mellpellmell. I live with my family in Minsk (the capital of Belarus).

I have higher technical education, but since childhood I loved creativity in all its forms. I attended music school (fortepiano), sang in the choir, always dancing and drawing since I can remember. Now I'm cutting the pieces of paper and putting the stamp marks all day long ...)))

Most of all in scrap I like using of stamps, masks & paints, they are my favorites))) But in general I like to do all that is connected with the paper, inks & paints, stamps, masks, etc. ... Another thing I love is making workshops. But now I show tutorials on my youtube channel and make training with the help of Skype, because now I have not enough time for personal training (I make it are quite rare)...

Hello! My name is Natasha and I live in small town in Ukraine. I love my hubby, my daughter and all my stamps:) I also love butterflies, vintage look and sunflowers:) I'll be glad to meet you on the pages of VLVS! blog!

Hi, my name is Glenda Tkalac and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.  I love scrapbooking, making art journal pages, canvases and ATC's.  I work full time but wish I could just play in my art room full time! haha  I also love watching movies, playing with paper & scissors and all things artsy, capris, funky runners, going to concerts, hoodies, Marianas Trench, baubles & purses, the Goo Goo Dolls, unicorns, rainbows, mermaids, a good laugh, Coors Light, my Sony Reader, flannel sheets, scented candles and Sid Dickens memory tiles.

We'll be welcoming the extended Guest Designer from last term as a member of our full six month term!
I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, but am a Mid West girl by heart. (Go Buckeyes!) My current obsession and love is getting my hands messy with all sorts of mediums: paints, inks, sprays – you name it! The more mixed, the better. But, you can frequently see me ‘jump’ from project type to project type. As they say, variety is the spice of life!

And we're bringing BACK a previous designer....
Karen Knight
Hi, I'm Karen, Aussie gal, Wife and Mummy and Stamper! I love to create on tags, and am happiest when my fingers are inky!

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day Four

Welcome to a week full of inspiration!

and

All week we'll be teaming up with the folks @ Scor-Pal and using their amazing scoring tool in conjunction with Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamps!

--Leave comments all week long to be entered to win! Scor-Pal has an original Scor-Pal to give away PLUS a lb o' rubber! And we've got a ScorEnvi plus a lb o' rubber!--

First up today we have GLENDA:

Hi everyone, Glenda here! This was my first time using the Scorpal and let me just say WOW!!! At first I wracked my brain trying to think of what I was going to make because I'm not a card person, but I am a total ATC addict!! So I thought why can't I make a little ATC booklet using the Scorpal, and I did!! The size of an ATC is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. I wanted to make a triple ATC so I cut my white cardstock into the size of 2 1/2 x 7 inches. I then placed that onto the Scorpal and it was so nice because it did the measuring and folding for me!!! I made 2 scores at the 2 1/2 inch mark and the 5 inch mark (and be careful that you don't go over them again like I did because I tore right through it and had to start again! haha) and then gently folded them like an accordion.

After that I decorated each mini page with a variety of super fun Viva Las VegaStamps!, Sakura gelly & micron pens, mists, paint and papers and now have a cute little ATC mini album. If one ATC is good how awesome is having 6 connected all together??

Here are the Viva Las VegaStamps! that I used to make this project:

And 2nd for today we have KAREN:

Dictionary Page | Owl In Vest | Large Doily

I used the ScorPal to make a caddy to sit on my desk with three compartments in it. Seeing as though I use a lot of tags in my creating I thought i'd make it to fit them.

I started by cutting and scoring three identical boxes, stuck them to each other, them painted them ( in hindsight I would of painted first before cutting and scoring.) Stamped my images on cardstock, added some colour and used miracle tape to stick them on. Added in a couple of idea-ogoly embellishments and taahh dahhh a new desk caddy!

Ordinary School Supplies transformed into an Underwater Seahorse Fantasy Notebook

Happy Monday - Welcome to Viva Las Vegastamps!!! Susan here with my bottom of the month post. School starts today here in South Florida so I thought I would make something using school supplies...one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Who can't resist a new set of pens, notebooks and HIGHLIGHTERS???

With my new supplies, I feel like a schoolgirl again and I'm off to learn some new things. Today I am sharing a technique I learned from a stamper named Paula Whittaker which is so simple...coloring cardstock with highlighter markers.

I gathered my new plate of Viva Las Vegastamps! #1268, highlighter pens, a mini composition journal, a sheet of smooth finish creme cardstock, black Staz-On ink, a few distress inks and blending tool, 1/4" Miracle Tape, one Miracle Sheet, and some ribbon and fibers.

From plate #1268, I cut out the Seahorses Facing #16024.

This technique is really easy and this project would be great for kids, too. All you do is color a piece of cardstock with the highlighter marker, completely covering sheet. Instead of just making it plain and solid, I have made wave patterns and bubbles with my strokes. To get variations of color, build up one or two additional strokes of color. This makes a fantastic watery background for my seahorses.

Here's the completed background of just blue highlighter pen.
**A NOTE** I used a smooth natural ivory colored cardstock as my base.

Using my custom stamp handle affixed with blending foam, I applied Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to give some depth. This really made this watery scene come to life!

Using black Staz-On ink, I stamped the Seahorses into their new home. Then I added some shimmer with my Gelly Hologram glitter pen.

Now to cover my mini composition book! I cut out a strip 3 1/2" wide from a Miracle Sheet and applied it to the cover of my book. This makes altering one of these babies a SNAP! With the strip of Miracle Sheet trimmed to the width, I peeled off the backing, lined up to the top and side edges and pressed in place. I trimmed with scissors along the bottom edge and I'm ready to decorate -AND- no gluey mess! I remove the backing to expose adhesive and place my stamped background. After trimming the edges, I add some teal satin ribbon with 1/4" Miracle Tape and tie some fuzzy fibers around the cover spine. Easy-Peasy!

This mini composition book goes from drab...to FAB!!!

Thanks so much for dropping by today! Pop on over to the Viva Las Vegastamps! store - loads of new stamps have just been added - Halloween, Christmas and many more! GUESS WHAT...The VLVS Miracle Tape Sampler is on Sale for $39.99 {regular price $57.00}!!!! Steampunk ATCs

Wayne (the owner of VLVS!) and I recently go the pleasure to participate in an ATC swap for steampunk ATCs! Lyneen was our fearless leader via the forum and today I'll show you what we turned in!

First up.. Stamping by STAMPO himself!

Wayne used Copic markers, distress ink and a gorgeous rainbow pad to get all the beautiful colors on his ATC. He also Stampo's Steampunk Sprockets which were glued down
with Crystal Lacquer.
Stamps used include:
When Pigs Fly!
Steampunk Piggy
Gear 1x1

I used a foil sheet adhered with Miracle Tape to white cardstock and alcohol ink to get the effect for my background. My Umbrella Man stamp was stamped in Memento Black ink and embossed with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I embellished with a little dabbling in the Stampo's Steampunk Sprockets as well.

What do you think??
