I ❤️❤️U by Cathy N

Good morning all Cathy here with a Doctor Who Valentine card for you.

                                                                         Stamps Used:

                                                          19054 blue police box

                                                          19563 grunge circles

                                                          20575 brushstroke

I started out by making the background.

Then I stamped brushstroke 3 times in a dark gray ink on the background. After that I stamped the grunge circles in the same pink distress ink as I made the background.

I stamped blue police box on a piece of white cardstock and colored it with a blue marker, after I colored it all in, I restamped it so you could see the image again.

Lastly, I added some die cut letters and ❤️' s .

Halloween-ish card by Cathy

Hello, all Cathy here with a Halloween-ish card for you today.

                                                                           Stamps Used:

                                                                19563 grunge circles

                                                               19991 Alis Volat Proprits

Why I say Halloween-ish because I started out to make a Halloween card and I didn't know what I wanted to use for the main image, so I switched it up a bit. I stamped the grunge circles in an orange and purple distress ink colors around my card base. Then I took my sponge dabber that had brown distress oxide ink on it and used whatever was left on it to go around the card. I splattered some water on it to give it drips.

I decided to make a tag for the front. I took rusty hinge antique linen distress ink to make the tag background. I stamped Alis Volat Proprits with black ink and tore the tag. I edged it with distress inks.

Lastly, I added foam tape to the back of the tag added to the card base.

Summer by Tracy Blackwolf

 Hello everyone!

For my blog project today, I did a page in my art journal-enjoy.

I started by doing the blue corners first. I sprayed several spray stains and then sprayed water and kept alternating until I was happy.. Then I did the yellow and red. again using water to thin and move around the colors.

Next I used my pearl ex watercolor pallet and painted several colors on here and there until I was happy. I love the shimmer of the pearl ex.

While that dried, I stamped and fussy cut the swimsuit lady out and painted her. Next I stamped the various images where I wanted them- making an l shape on the page. I added the seahorse washi tape. I used two layers of foam tape behind the girl since I wanted her to stand out nicely. Added a die cut green sprig and then done! I used the chain link fence stamp as fish net- it works pretty good but then it mostly got covered up.

Stamps:
Lady swimsuit back       2411
Jagged chain link fence     19140
Grunge circles            19563
Grunge Thermometer    20691
Writing and scribble collage     20695

Other supplies:

Clowning Around | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
It's Sue Plumb here to share my latest VLVS design team project with you. Today I have a fun mixed media scrapbook layout to share that I created to document a couple of silly SnapChat selfies of my sister and I. (We just love clowning around! hehe)

To create this page I started with an A4 sized sheet of cardstock; then I mixed some Dina Wakley acrylic paints (I used a combination of 'Night' and 'Lapis') to get the right shade I wanted for my background. I applied it roughly using a spatula and set it aside to dry.

Whilst it was drying, I chose some stamps for my background. I wanted to continue the confetti theme from the photos and have the patterns cascading down the page, which I also planned to stamp using acrylic paint.

I started with the Grunge Circles, which I stamped using 'Ruby' paint repeatedly down the page. I then used the Sky of Stars Background stamp with 'Cheddar' paint and followed the same line down the page.
I then switched to midnight blue ink and stamped the Smiley Face and Somebody Stop Me.

To go with the theme of my page, I stamped out a few images from plate #1383 designed by Mary Vogel Lozinak - Unicycle LadyMan in Short Pants; and Director. I coloured each of the images using markers and then fussy cut around them. I also stamped the All Circuses quote.

I added some frayed gauze to my page before adding my photos on top with the quote stuck along the bottom edge.

I then stuck the little characters across my page using foam tape to give them a bit of dimension.

To finish off I added some scattered sequins for a bit of sparkle and I was done!

That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you to get inky too!

Paint your dream with Banksy girls

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new tutorial made for VLVS blog.
It becomes harder and harder to make tutorials as actually everything was already made and shown over the web.
So if not the new techniques, maybe a new arrangement of pieces or just a way I think when I  make a big project that involves Mixed Media art and stamping.
So this is a tutorial about all of those: my way of thinking when I make a new art piece/pieces; some of my favorite techniques and last, but not least- 4  canvases arrangement into one single art adventure.
I decided to make 4 canvases art piece with 3 Banksy stamps and to connect them all as a part of wall paint art. So  each stamp has it's own small (4*4'' ) canvas and the title canvas(7*7'') it the one that connect all small art pieces to one single " something".
Step by step tutorial:
1. Stamp background over each small canvas with some small background stamps. I picked small stamps and even with them I just stamped on the edges as the central part  intended to be for the main stamped image. I used pigmented black ink (Clearsnap) and clear embossing powder to heat emboss the backgrounds. 4 background were used here: Six Hexagons, Washi Grid, Think to thin round and Grunge circles.
I made the same stamping over the larger canvas using Brick background.

2. For the next step I used a few of my stencils (Memory box this time) and Gel medium. Yes, I didn't use texture paste but a very gentle gel medium that is almost translucent when it's dry. I covered the whole canvas with the stencil, but added gel medium randomly here and there. Let the wet medium dry. It takes time. You can do step 3 while your are waiting.

And the large canvas after stamping and adding gel medium texture:

3. Stamp all three main images with black permanent ink (Ranger) over tissue white paper. As our canvases are very textured, the only way to add good stamped image is to stamp over tissue, to tear the image and to adhere it with the very same gel medium.

4.Mist your 4 textured canvases with a mix of mists, according to the colors you want to see with each image. Wipe the mists a bit as we really want to see the gel medium stencilled texture and our primary background stamping.

5. Adhere the torn stamped over tissue images over  those three small canvases and let it dry.
6. Glue letters over the large canvas to make your title. I used simple stickers and Thickers to make my title. As always the sticky backs are not sticky, so I used my usual trick and it's to make a thin line or a few lines with some clear glaze to connect the letters and to adhere them to the background. The dry glaze looks divine (like water drops) and adds some interest to  your finished piece.

7. Add some drops of color to each canvas and arrange them to your favorite group arrangement.
