Poe's Party Hat by Cathy N

Hello, all Cathy here with a semi-Halloween card for you. I have been in the Halloween mood for the last week or so and I just had to make something for it.

                                                                    Stamped Used:

                                                                       19900 Poe

                                                                      17545 grunge writing background

                                                                      19991 Alis Volat Proprits

I started out with some orange distress ink and stamped grunge writing background randomly around the edges of my card base. I then took some brown ink and inked around the edges and splattered some water around to give it a grunge look.

I had made this background earlier with some white paste that I added some black ink to it, and it mad it gray. I tore the edges and edged it with some gray ink.

Next, I stamped Poe and cut him out. After that I stamped the wings from Alis Volat Proprits in the same orange ink I used for the background and cut them out. I found a top hat in my digital collage images and cut it out so Poe could where it. I added the wings to the hat and then the hat to Poe and I added foam tape so it would stick to the texture of the background.

Vitruvian Man by Tracy Blackwolf

Hello everyone~ hope you're all keeping cool !

Here is my new blog post for this week.

So for this project I used the "smooshing " technique to create the colorful background.

I put a bit of the three colors I used on a sheet of glass, spread them with my finger and then spritzed them with some water to blend a bit.

Keep smooshing card or tag on ink until you like the result. Let dry and then drip water onto it to give a more distress look. I used oxide inks for this card.
When it was dry, I added a little yellow distress spray to give a sun break like look. I then stamped the Vitruvian man  on card stock and on a sheet of acetate, I painted the cardstock one and fussy cut him out. I cut out the entire image on the acetate.
Then I used several inks and stamps and randomly stamped the background on the tag.
I put two strips of 3d tape on the back of the man as I wanted him to stand off the tag,. I went into my Dresden trims wings stash and found the perfect wings for him. Those coper wings gave him a steampunk vibe so I stamped some cogs around the edges of the tag.
I also added some metallic wax around the edges of the tag to pull it all together. Last, I found some verbage stickers  to finish the tag.

And that's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed my art tag today! until next time~ stay arty!!

Like a Queen - Art Journal Page | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! It's Sue Plumb here with my latest design team project with you. Today I am sharing a whimsical style art journal page that I created on some loose leaf black A4 cardstock. I don't often create on dark backgrounds, but I felt like a change of pace.

I started by creating my background using Dylusions acrylic paints and a stencil from StencilGirl. I stamped over the top using black ink with the Wildflowers Silhouette stamp; and around my page using the Sky of Stars Background with a Distress Oxide.

I created my "whimsical being" using a variety of stamped pieces put together - Striped LeggingsDressformSet of WingsCat Mermaid. I simply stamped, cut, coloured and pieced.

The border was stamped also using a Distress Oxide with the Doodle Frame stamp and I used the Treat Me Exactly Queen phrase stamp to add text to my page.

I used Distress Oxides again with the Beautiful Lily and Leaves and 3 Extra Leaves stamps to add extra detail over my background (love how these look over a black background!); and added gold splatters using a Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray.

You can see how I put this page together in my process video on the VLVS YouTube channel:

Thanks for stopping by so I could share this with you, I hope I have inspired you to get inky too!

Button Button.. Who's got the button? {A Button Fairy Swap}

Hiya folks!!

Today I'm sharing an overabundance of beautiful art! Here are the results of our VLVS! Button Fairy Swap! We had an astounding number of participants and each day a new fairy arrived on my desk I was in total awe!!

Let's go to it shall we? Here they are in alphabetical order:

This blue boy is by Anne Squire -- this stamp is long retired but still a  favorite among those who snatched him during his sale days!!

Autumn Renault sent in this beauty! The wings on it are all metallic and glossy - super cool! She kept the Bandana Dog as the focal point for her fairy.

Barb Rankin chose a glorious steampunky style using our Vintage Fan Lady on a Balloon stamp. The feel is vintage, nostalgic, and super pleasing.

Cheryl Lindsey wows us with this monochromatic gal.

Chris McAdams used our Brick Background stamp to create the luxurious texture of her fairy's wings.

I decided to use our newest Octopus/Cephalopod stamp as the being portion of my fairy.

Gerrie Johnnic's fairy is sure to delight and create whimsy with the Skinny Girl.

Jennifer Walker used our Crackle Background to add some enchant to her wings.

Lyneen Jesse has a love for steampunk and her use of our Steampunk Couple shows it! Metallic-y goodness all around.

Mary Vogel Lozinak is always a hit and her Clown Face button fairy is hilarious!

Michele Kosciolek used our Corset stamp and molded her own fairy heads!!

Sandra Strait is astounding as usual with this Steampunk Dog Face canvas piece!

and Shawn Hayden used our Weeping Angel Child  stamp(That split tail is AMAZING!) to finish us off! Fitting as that's the end of our button fairy swap.

But never fear!! We have ANOTHER swap going on ALREADY!! We'll be altering MATCHBOXES! So join us in our facebook group, read up on the info and let us know if you'd like to participate!
