the KISS of health

Came across an interesting article online: the KISS of health
As if kisses don't already have a great reputation, now there's even more reason to play tonsil tennis. From blood pressure problems to a stressful mind, kissing can actually help with various health issues. Find out how here then lock your doors and start getting healthy!
Easing stress
Affection in general has stress-reducing effects. Kissing, in particular, has been studied in a controlled experiment. Studies found that increasing the frequency of kissing in marital and cohabiting relationships resulted in a reduction of perceived stress, an increase in relationship satisfaction, and a lowering of cholesterol levels.
A new study by scientists from Lafayette College found that kissing reduces levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, implying that a good smooch could alleviate stress. Kissing your partner produces calming brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that lessen stress and soothe the mind, leaving you feeling happy and full of energy. Hence, regular kissing keeps stress at bay.
Exercises muscles in your jaw
When you passionately kiss someone, you actually use 29 different muscles (as well as a whole host of the body’s postural muscles) in your cheeks and your jaw. All of these could help keep you looking younger - facial muscles are kept tight and this helps prevent cheeks from sagging. It has also been found that tension in the muscles caused by a passionate kiss helps smooth the skin and promotes better circulation.
Stimulates the brain
"When you kiss, an enormous part of your brain becomes active," Helen Fisher PhD, a professor at Rutgers University, New Jersey, told the Associated Press. This can lead to feelings of euphoria and well being, or increase your sex drive. The endorphins produced by kissing are 200 times more powerful than morphine.
“When we kiss someone, personal space is compromised which heightens the chemical sensitivity well above normal levels, often blocking other types of synaptic chemical transmissions throughout the brain, such as basic principles of reasoning” says Chrissy*, a psychologist. This may be why some people experience a surreal reality during and right after kissing that is created by purely animal-like physical reactions, rather than advanced means of humanistic logic.
Heart health
Kissing causes an adrenaline rush that pumps more blood to your heart and around your body. It can also assist patients with hypertension by lowering their blood pressure and therefore controlling several cardio-vascular diseases.
Boosting energy
Kissing is a great way to boost your energy. It is a wonderful source of psychological strength and support. “I kiss my partner when he is down to show that I’m there beside him, which usually makes him feel better,” says Samantha, a college student. Kissing helps increase one’s self esteem and will put a big smile on your face, instantly taking your mind off any worries.
Finding a partner and triggering sex drive
Kissing is actually a rather strange thing to do, putting our face up close to someone and then trading saliva! However, scientists believe there may be an evolutionary advantage to why we do this. According to Fisher, “Saliva is like a chemical cocktail, and hooking up may have evolved to help us quickly tell if someone is a good mate or not.” Many people have been attracted to someone and then the first kiss has just totally ruined it for them.
“If you kiss on the first date and it's not right, then there will beno second date. Sometimes it's better to hold out and not kiss for along time.” – Jennifer Lopez
It could all boil down to what's in your spit. Lots of hormones are present in differing quantities in our saliva, and they may serve several romantic purposes. "There’s evidence that saliva has testosterone in it, and there’s also evidence that men like sloppier kisses with more open mouth," Fisher said. "That suggests to me that they are unconsciously trying to transfer testosterone to trigger the sex drive in women."

Officially finished one week of work.. working life it, BORING. the same old things everyday, spreadsheet spreadsheet n more spreadsheets... database, admin backlogs which are bottlenecks to efficiency.. emails, phone calls, Office Communicator and MSN throughout working hours..
I really dislike such a routine life. but again, some things are beyond our control so we just have to to smile and continue making the best out of things. That's why God gave us family and friends to perk us on when life takes a toll on us.. =)

i still wanna choose to believe in myself, believe in fate and belief in the divine powers of God, no matter what others tell me...
thank you to those who tried to shine some reality into me.. i know these discouragement came from goodwill and i know u all love me and meant well so want to prevent me from walking on the thin ice of uncertainty. but im determined to put up this fight. even if it means i might fail, but im not going to allow myself to fail without trying...
so afraid of what's up ahead... cant afford to allow others to discourage me right now coz im also very afraid. so i chose to not disclose what i have been doing so that those who dont know will not discourage.
i live everyday worried and scared... but im still going to walk down this path..
