From the "Why not Washington?" file.

Via the ITT List...
Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee has signed a Homeless Bill of Rights into law, the first of its kind in the nation.

The law is designed to fight discrimination and harassment directed against homeless individuals. That includes ensuring the right of individuals to move freely in public spaces, to have equal opportunity for jobs and to be treated fairly by employers, to vote and receive the necessary state documents to be able to vote and to expect respect of personal property. The bill places an individual’s housing status in the same category as religion, gender, sexuality and race as illegal grounds for discrimination.

Quote of the day.

Former Republican Senator, now independent Governor, Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island...
"The appeal you have to make to the Republican primary audience -- that's just alien to what's in our best interests as a country."

It's not about winning states...

...it's about winning delegates. The latest delegate allocation from MSNBC...
Ohio

Clinton 73
Obama 62

Rhode Island

Clinton 13
Obama 8

Texas (Primary)

Clinton 46
Obama 34

Texas (Caucus)

Clinton 0
Obama 0

Vermont

Obama 9
Clinton 6
A net pick up of 25 for Clinton at this point, with a less encouraging result expected from the Texas caucuses. Once again, the Clinton camp knew there was a caucus involved, they just didn't know what to do about it.

At any rate, with Obama going into the night with a lead of 122 pledged delegates (MSNBC numbers again), +25, give or take, isn't going to get the job done. I don't know if Hillary can pull of a win, but I'm pretty sure she can't pull one off a clean one.

Still, this is more than the encouragement she was looking for to press on. Duck and cover.
