Part 2 of Biennale 2011

10may2011.tuesday.

this is one of my favourite exhibits.
done by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer who hails from Mexico but lives in Montreal.
this work is titled Frequency of Volume, Relational Architecture.

i think u can't really see the caption clearly.

i resized the photos because blogger will take eons to load all of them.
as i was saying, this exhibit experiments with the various frequency wave and
how volume affects it.
inside this dark room, you're part of the wave spectrum used in our everyday lives.
it seemed creepy to be inside. but after you've figured out what's going out,
it's quite fascinating. i spent quite some time playing there hoping from one frequency
to another.
hah!

here are the various freq waves featured:

the frequency used in airports. 120.30MHz AM

the survelliance radar frequency at 1.010GHz FMW

Marine communication is made possible at
640.00MHz USB

let's not forget the frequency that allows us to
stay connected with everyone
the land mobile, 48.00 MHz USB.

honestly, i don't know what does the USB/FMW/AM means.
i know AM is for the radio ones.
we don't really haf AM in singapore.
guess i wasn't really that attenting during wave physics?
heeeeeeee.

when i was standing at this spot, i could feel that i was really watching
teevee (sans the visual).

foreign tv.

this is for all drivers who drive with a gps.
i don't drive with a gps because i'm a part-time gps?
gy,p, pz,cs & m will know what i mean!
idk whether are they reading but yeah.
these are the times when u call me and ask me how to
find your way around school.

i feel like Mr Bean while doing this pose.
he had this episode when the tv will all go haywire when he's there.
i miss watching Mr Bean.
his antics never fail to make me laugh.
just like what Tom & Jerry does to me.
even though i can anticipate what will happen, i'll still laugh.

i'm so psyched for graduation already.
weeeeeeeeee!
even though i know it means it's the end of poly.
but what the heck.
it's another reason to celebrate that we've grown so much from this right?

it's like a year without rain.

mayfifth. monday.

i'm not the biggest fan of air-conditioning.
primarily because it dries my skin and makes me feel groggy.
but the weather is simply too warm and hence the title
from Selena Gomez's song. heeee.

anyways...
i went to the Biennale at OKA (Old Kallang Airport) alone ytd.
it was pretty interesting because it intrigues you in a different way.
and it was fun because i got to bring baby out for a breather.
it's nice to go out to shoot alone because there's no restriction.
the restriction's you.
but i'll feel uneasy at times because i can't stand being quiet for too long.

these circular things are actually the covers of paint cans.

digressing much.

i think i miss finding AWB (airway bills). when i saw
the crate, i knew i had to take a photo of it.

they have Toast Box at the Biennale.

took me awhile to decide how i wanted to take this cart.

reminds me of secondary school.

i never knew using a pen to sketch could
be so beautiful.

this is a perfect place for a fashion shoot.
the setting for neon coloured lineup.

this doesn't feel like Singapore one bit.

okay i admit, i processed it a little. but i felt that the
drawings on the windows were rather adorable. when the sun shines in
(yes it's very warm!), it creates something quirky and
not-so-Singapore context.

i thought the bldg was about the collapse when i heard the metronome.
i know, stupid much for that moment.

i had a similar photo like this taken in the
Hortpark a few years back. i'm too lazy to search for it.
but i like this feeling of looking up.

my chuck taylors, audio guide & my camera
(not forgetting the unbearable heat) accompanied me through
my maiden trip to the Biennale.

last time i blogged. it was april 27th april.
wow.
it's been quite awhile.

the only thing i want to do after work is shower, eat and hit the sack.
indeed, it is very boring. but this monotonous lifestyle has led to
a slight improvement to my eyebags!
i've been waiting for ages for this to happen already!

i can't wait for AFF!!!!!!!
i can't wait for Singapore Arts Festival!!!!!!!!
i'm gonna go for the Biennale!
i want to take a train to m'sia!
i want to try the pedal go kart at WCP.
do you think they'll have karts for adults?

finally... after 4 days of waiting for the mailman to come.
The Time 100 issue is here!

i suppose people will expect the usual people on the list like
Oprah, Barack and Michelle Obama. Yes, they have done
great things.

as for me, i believe that this person deserves to be on the
list & YES! he is on the list! i love the portrait of him.
it's very suitable for a guy who made a difference in a
way no actor could.

updates from the long weekend.

25/4/11. monday.

the long weekend was good.
i had a sumptuous meal at Bakerzin because
we(pz & i) celebrated cs & gary's belated bday.
for gary's case, it was super belated.
i hoped the enjoyed the meal! (:

pz & i. i think our face looks sharper than usual.
the beauty of make-up i suppose.

gary & his middle finger shot. the polaroid on his right was
taken last year.
it's also a middle finger photo.
we said that if anyone pisses u off, you should just show the picture.
like that, you aren't really pointing the finger. the photo did. HAH!
weird logic. but yeah!

the birthday people who thought we were celebrating the other
person's bday only!
cs thought we were celebrating gary's bday &
gary thought we were celebrating cs's bday.

& we had tonnes of fun laughing because i was entertaining them in some
way. we came to the subject of my ez-link card where gary tried to take a photo
of my metamorphosis when i did this right smack infront of his iphone.

HAAAAAAA! my big ring and hands saved the day!

i went on the flyer on sat which was rather boring. but i must say the food street is
not bad because the prices are rather reasonable.
together with each-a-cup, i'm on cloud nine already.

yesterday was a very fruitful sunday!
i consider it very fruitful because i'll laze my sundays away and
rot infront of the telly. but yesterday was different.
i cleaned up the clutter on top of my shelves &
i came across this.. . . . .

SEE THIS PRETTY BLUE BOX? do you know what's inside?

ZOMG IT'S A COMMUNITY OF ANTS!
i almost fainted when i saw it!
but, i decided to take a photo of it because i thought
it was pretty interesting.
i had to hold this box outside the window for fear
of dropping the box by accident.

after a long afternoon dusting away and throwing stuff away.. . . . . .

MY NEW & IMPROVED BEAUTY CORNER!
my make-up, accessories and skin care products are there.
although i don't have a large collection of accessories and
make-up, i'm pretty contented with this.

nineteen april. tues.

things running along my head:
ever since i started work, i don't really have a choice but wear heels because
i don't own a pair of flats. As a result of the pressure, my toe is bruised.
the nail doesn't hurt. but the meat surrounding the nail does.
in fact, it feels numb.
bummer. so i have to wear sneakers now.

that bruise is sticking out like a sore thumb. i'm afraid that it'll bleed.
but the doctor says not to worry. (:

My fan finally gave up and dad bought a new fan.
this fan is pretty cool you know!
it's cool because. . . .
.
.
.
.
.

IT HAS A MAGNETIC CONTROLLER!
i can place the controller on the railings of my bed.

this is how my bed looks like! What i do is i'll place the controller on the
railings and use it whenever i like!

& this is the biggest accomplishment in my life!
my mum and dad always say that i'm super careless and
absentminded.
Being in FJB has helped me alot. when you do
filing almost everyday, it teaches you to be more organized and
careful than before!
see! so many pink colour round round thing.
(idk the name of it. so yeah)

17/4/2011. sunday.

today was a pretty fufilling day for my stomach and tastebuds.

it was feast of chicken wings at my grandma's place

i attended a durian cake baking class today & we got to
take the food home.
i think i should post pictures. but i ate everything up.
oops.

FOOD!!!

I SO CAN'T WAIT FOR AFF SIAAAAAA! AFF BABY!
although i'm a little sad because i can't get to watch the Raoul runway show.
Maybe must find a way now?
