the thing about magazines

mum and dad went to m'sia a week ago and she bought the M'sia edition of

Female. I loved the editorials and photoshoots.
it got me thinking whether is it
time for me to phase out from Seventeen to magazines like Female.
but the price of the latter is twice the price of the former.
although, it isn't a good comparison because Female's filled with tonnes of
adverts for luxury brands. And who will pay for these adverts but
the consumers like us?
it makes me wonder if magazines should be filled with so many
advertisements? are they( magazines) or will they still be relevant?
if i wanted to look at the gazillion and one advertisements, i can go online?
then again, advertisements are relevant because they advertise to their
targeted audience. you don't see a Prada advert on Seventeen do you?

for me, i want to read a magazine because i want to be informed.
in this case, i want to be informed about clothes and life in general.

Female, M'sia May 2011

VS

Seventeen, Singapore May 2011
.

.

.

.

i think i've made my conclusion, i'll still stick to seventeen and
read the online Vogue's. the former's pretty comprehensive from
runway shows to fashion news.
this way, i'll get the best of both worlds.

+

Vogue online

= (:

gawd, you must really be wondering why am i typing about this when
i could have this conversation with myself in my brain right?

Bag hag moment

I was pretty bored on tues and decided to window shop at raffles city.
& a thought came to me about bags!
i loved the bags that i saw.
but i couldn't buy any because dad's going to
strangle me if i buy 'em.

i came across these bags.

uper adorable blue pyramid clutch bag from Dorothy Perkins.
it's available in white too! i love this blue because i think it's that vintage feeling.
i guess it's the colour.

Angelica Tote in Marine Cinnamon from Raoul.
i like the way it appears so flat!
i know it doesn't make sense to anybody, but i like it alot!i saw this Marisa tote in tan from Raoul. Love it alot too!
it feels like the bag that you want to carry to work!
Feels like a bag for an OL.

temptation got the better of me and i decided to browse
online for more details.

Christie Hobo in coral from Raoul.
It comes in cinnamon and biege too!

We shouldn't forget bagage too! it's a local bag brand.
their designs are rather unique.
i must say that their bag is hardy because it can withstand quite
alot of weight. However, the disadvantage about the bag that i bought (not this one)
was it's strap. the strap was so thin that it made your shoulders
feel uncomfortable if you actually placed your lappy
into your bag. hmmm.. maybe i should take a picture of it.

but i suppose it's a one-off occasion because their newer
designs are better than before. this cute bagpack named
Betsy comes in pink, black and grey.

gaaaa! tan leather clip lock leather satchel from Topshop!
the color reminds me of the alexa chung bag from Mulberry in spring2010.
i think the stark difference would be the colour scheme
and the strap which the Mulberry bag has.
this bag was featured in Vogue (UK) last year which got me intrigued.
needless to say, i went to check the price for the fun of it and gosh i can
either continue to dream or buy the topshop one.
Meet Perry in cream checks from Bagage. It comes in
small red florals, chalk tweed,
green bohemian and purple black roses.
personally, i prefer the cream checks because i think
it's feels like a classic + evergreen choice.
i guess that's what white and gold do when they come together?
lastly, this is a white lock briefcase bag from Dorothy Perkins.
i think i have a fettish for bags like this.
From the Mulberry to Topshop to this!
gaaaaaaa. i never seem to find one that
i really like that's affordable.
bags like these seem to appear when i don't
intend to buy any bags.

oh well, i can only sit and dream the bags away. heeeeeee!

Is it possible?

what're the chances that i can actually get tickets to go?
i must admit that i'm new to this.
i really want to learn and know more about it
because i think i don't get to
do something like this when school starts.

if i had a chance to go,
i'll definitely want to go for the alldressedup, Raoul & Prabal Gurung
runway shows.
alldressedup & Raoul is something that i can see myself wearing.
Although Prabal Gurung isn't my style, but i do like his colour scheme for spring 2011!
it's one of my favourite colour schemes that i've seen for this season!

having an opportunity to see at least 1 runway show makes me gay!
i know it's no paris, milan or london. but Singapore is not bad too!
we're still a growing nation afterall.

so...the question is, how?

i really want to go.
i can't rly get the opportunity to go in the next few years because i'll
have school & feel reluctant abot it.
i know i'm an idiot when it's come to deciding on when to enjoy.

My take

thurs. aprilseventh.

i don't see myself as someone who's wearing whatever's off the runway.
yes i like clothes.
yes i like making comments about it. although i
don't know whether i sound really bad or relatively okay.
but whatever the case is, i'm still giving my opinion on it.

& definitely yes to the fact that I have a definition of my own style.
i love my leggings because i think it's easy to pair it off with
almost everything.
i love bright colours. summer, winter, autumn, i'll still be with
bright colours.
i think looking at runway photos gives me an idea of what i should
experiment with.
i love my not-so vast collection of accesories because i think they seem
to find a way to match my clothes. so i'm contented with the way i collect
accessories & i do intend to expand it.

i'm currently in love with the beret i bought from paris a few years back
and i've been wearing it to work for the past few days.
i find outfits to pair with it.

i used to shy away from experimenting because when i enter class,
people will be give puzzled looks.

i think something's wrong with my keypad because it types anywhere it likes.
bummer.

i'm thinking of a collar blouse + my pencil skirt from H&M for work tomorrow.
should i pair it with round Mary Janes or strappy heels as seen in colours
ensemble from Covet Action?

How Raoul has been with me.

april fourth. monday.

since i started work at Fj Benjamin.
i got a little curious and decided to find out more about Raoul.

i didn't really know that Raoul's a local brand until today!!
i love their clothes because i think it brings out a certain
class and image of the person wearing it.
i mean in a positive and confident manner.

i too own a Raoul top!
it's a white and red cardigan top i bought a few years back!
i didn't wear it until i entered poly because my mum was nagging me that
if i spend so much money on it and not wear, it'll collect dust and probably
spoil.

anywayssss.....
i decided to browse through their SS 2011 (Ladies) lookbook.
i love the nude hues. they seem to have a way to make nude hues look nice.
idk.
i love the colours because it's spring/summer!
to me i think spring and summer represents one feeling relaxed and all psyched up
about holidays. so if u wanna feel all relaxed, you gotta wear something comfy right?

i think looks like these should stay. why so?
because it doesn't make shorts look sloppy.
u feel comfortable in it.
it's good for the weather in Singapore.
& lastly, u don't look like u went to the market
with your mum in shorts.
well even if you did, you went to the market in style!
i have a thing for dresses like these.
i know it doesn't give any structure to the person wearing it,
but, i think spring & summer's bout windy and bright days.
it's times like these that i think it's awesome!
i like the design of this. it totally fits the Singapore context.
shorts check.
don't want to feel sloppy, check too!
i didn't really have a chance to see whether the mateial's
similar to those that we have on cheongsams or something cooling.
if it's the former, i might have to consider again.

i print screened the photos from their website. i think doing that gave the photos
alot of injustice. so if you wanna see the actual photos,
head on down to this website:

i've been madly MIA from littleclothesspread.
i feel so awesome after my hk trip.

i had loads of fun because we went round snapping photos,
eating and walking and eating even more.
so here are my shots!

Courtesy of cs!
mi reflexión
my top was bought from Ladies St. in HK. i got it for
120hkd. my belt was from Pull & Bear.
BUT I LOST IT DURING MY TRIP! ):
my bag's also from Ladies St. (HK). I'm in love
with it because i can stuff alot of things insideee!

the next few shots were taken by me.
I think there's the James Bent kind of feel here.
i'm not copying or anything. just gives me that feel.
i like taking post box with people? yes!
feels like a postcard photo.
okay, yes, i have a habit with making photos like this.

apart from my hk/macau trip, there's dnd too! i'm in love with my jumpsuit!
courtesy of cs. i didn't rly take alot of photos.
we had an airbrush tattoo booth & i gt a rose.
i like this photo alot because it makes my back look so slim.
kay, i shall bluff myself for a moment.
ly's wife (topshop dress, i love that dress alot!),
me (my jumpsuit's from Loef - a local blogshop) &
pz (her dress is frm a blogshop too. but i forgot the shop).

i think it's pretty little for a few mths of hiatus.
but i'll definitely continue with littleclothesspread once pz comes
back. i hope.
or i'll have to look for another person to do littleclothesspread with me.
but i like the rapport pz & i have.

Apart from the Women's Charter

If you read both blogs that i have,
you'll notice that this photo is up for today's post.
yes, this is a photo of me & it depicts something.
(not the poor scanshot my scanner had! it made my face
so much whiter than it should be!)
MAIN POINT IS: Every girl/female/woman has a right to feel
pretty! & beauty exudes from not only make-up/clothes/hair.
it's from the confidence that we have! we're all pretty in our own way!
i'm rather sure every girl has battles with their imperfections
be it their eyelids or baby fats or thighs
i do admit that i'm like this at times.
but i know the day that i'm going to step out of this is coming soon!

my model in my blog isn't a model that we have on spreads of magazines.
that's my point.
i believe that every girl/woman/female has the inner model in her.
who knows right?
i have yet to find mine & will try to find.
until then, i shall stay behind the camera because i love my camera alot!

& in no way nobody should dictate the way we look.
this applies to anybody!

i hope i won't be too busy and neglect LITTLECLOTHESSPREAD
when school re-opens you know.
i'm kinda fearful about it.

at the end of the day:
Apart from the Women's Charter, every girl/female/woman has the right to feel pretty!
