She was herself again

Hello everyone,

I hope you are well ! A very warm welcome to my inspiration post ! I have made an Art Journal page this time and this is it:

This was great fun to make... here's how:

I used three of these shapes from the Doodle Mash; I wanted them to be rusty and used Finnabair's Rust Effect paste.

This paste works quite well.

Next I painted some '10 Seconds Studio' Iron paint in three blobs onto the page and added the patina spray. This then went rusty too. Yay, love a bit of rust !
When this had dried I glued the shapes on top to make it look like they were there for years! I then stamped the background a little using brown and blue ink.
Next I painted an additional piece of paper with the same paint and did an image transfer with one of UmWow's new digitals. She is called 'girl with pearls'. I placed her onto some Sari ribbon and some book text and adhered her with some dimensional tape.

I hope I could inspire you to make something with Chipboard!

Here's what I have used:

Be true

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost ! I have created a mini canvas for today and have filmed the process of altering the chipboard. I hope you enjoy !

The mini canvas is aprox. 4" x 4" or 10 x 10 cm. I have painted it with acrylic paints and used Faber Castell Big Brush Markers (same as I used on the chipboard) to make the edges darker.
I then did some stamping and added the dictionary word 'bird' and the word chip by Tim Holtz.
That was it !

..dance with fairies....

Hello everyone,

Corrie here, and today it is my turn to try and inspire you to use those fabulous UmWow Studio Chipboards. I have only used one in my Art Journal page but it is very effective !

I wanted to use similar colours to the background I have used, which is a gelli printed piece of paper.

So I used three different embossing powders but in the end I had to use some markers too to get it how I wanted it.

I added some green and later also some orange (no photo, sorry).

Better with a little green...

Here is the finished page again. I also used a stencil and first I used Carved Pumpkin distress ink to stencil the hearts but didn't like that too much so I wiped most of it off again. I then took my white pen, put the stencil back on and drew around the faint orange hearts; I do like the result.

I added some paper, lace ribbon, some stamped and cut out flowers and the little girl is also a stamp. Isn't that amazing. Looks like a photo, doesn't it. (All stamps used by VivaLasVegaStamps)

Here you can see the orange I added to the viewfinder. I used Pitt Big Brush markers for this because it dries permanent.

I love this sentiment !

I have used the vintage viewfinder; you find it HERE

and the heart stencil

You'll find it HERE

Use your wings

Hello everyone,

and welcome to post where today I am sharing a small art journal page.

I went for the vintage style again today. I love doing a bit of everything !

I decided my bird cage had to be silver ! So i got out the embossing ink and silver embossing powder.

Here you can see how that looked after two layers of embossing powder.

I added some black archival ink to make it a little less shiny and 'new'.

Here is a detail of my page. I started with a piece of 7 Dots Studio paper from the Writer's Block collection. I added some paint with a brayer and stamped it randomly. I stitched around the border with my sewing machine and added some pieces of paper, thread and fabric. I added some stamped butterflies and a sentiment by Tim Holtz. That finished it off nicely.

Happy where she was

Hello everyone,

It's  my turn on the blog again today and I have an art journal page to share with you.

I have used the Distressed Harlequin Background pieces that I had left over from my last project.

This page was made with a piece of pattern paper by Prima called 'love letter' from the Pastiche collection. I added some 'Old paper' Distress Ink around the edges and collages pieces of an old envelope on it. I bought this in an antique shop and it has a letter too. For now I just used the envelope with the address on it. Next I added some gesso where the chipboard was going to be and  stamped the background randomly for more interest. I then added the stitch lines around the edges with a black marker.
I added my altered chipboard ( I have made a YouTube tutorial of how I did this; link below)  and some other bits and pieces like cambric and some lace flowers and stuck my photo on top.  Lastly I added the sentiment.

Here are some close ups:

This is the chipboard I used. I had some left over pieces from my last project and decided I might as well use them but then in a different way.

Not all who wander are lost.

Hello everyone,

and welcome to another post from me:

For today I have made a mini art journal page and this is what it looks like :

The background was brayered with acrylic paints  The big black circle was made with a coffee mug. I used the rim...and yes I washed it and I am now using it for coffee again ! I painted the inside of the circle with white paint and then stamped with a variety of rubber stamps by VivaLasVegaStamps!

The chipboard I used was treated like this :

This is what it looks like when you take it out of it's package.

I painted it with gesso, twice....

I coloured it with water colours (Prima confections) and added some details with pencils...

This is how it looks all coloured..

I added a layer of clear embossing powder over the top to protect the colours.

This gnome stamp by VivaLasVegaStamps! is normally holding an umbrella but I just left that out and replaced it with the flower...

How cute is he ???

And here is the finished project again !

I have used the flower on the left of this picture... this is a great set !

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Until next time !
