Magic | ScrappyNerdUK (Claire) | 6x6 Paper Pads

Hiya Friends,

This months theme was always going to be one of my favourites. I love working with 6x6 paper pads and find them so versatile. However, I know many people really struggle with using them. I'm hoping you have found lots of inspiration so far this month to get those paper pads put to good use...The ladies on the team have created some fabulous layouts this month!!

So I started with my photo and decided on a Disney one (because I love scrapping my Disney memories!!).

I used a white cardstock background as I really wanted the 6x6 papers to pop and using white will certainly help that.

I used a piece of A4 white cardstock and traced around a plate and sectioned this circle into 8. All of the sections were then cut out and were used as templates for my patterned paper from the 6x6 pad.

I arranged these circle pieces back together on my 12x12 white background and used double sided adhesive runner to glue them down. From the off cuts of the 6x6 papers, I used each of these as layers behind my photo - what a great way to use up 4 sheets of paper with very little waste!

So next came the embellishing. I went through my Disney stash and added on a whole load of stickers into 3 sections of the circle. I used a die cut word "Magic" as my title and added in pops of gold foil in the 3 embellished areas. I used a mixture of stickers, ephemera, chipboard and even used a heart paper clip that can be seen in the photo to the right.

There is something magical and tingly about scrapping Disney memories.

And here is the finished layout. I love how this turned out. I'm sure I say that every time but I really do. I hope that this has bought you some inspiration for diving into those 6x6 paper pads. They need some love and this is a great way to get them used.

Smile | Kirsteen | Large Photo

Hello, I've gone LARGE with an 8x12 print today. The photo was taken on my first trip to Orlando away back in 2005. We are posing in a photo op spot outside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and a fellow tourist offered to take our photo (selfies and selfie sticks weren't even a thing then!).

Grabbing some Simple Stories Say Cheese (what else, it would've been rude not to) I cut some border strips. I stuck the strips, one at the top and one at the bottom of the page and popped the photo in the middle using an adhesive runner.

I a got stuck into adding embellishments (which is my favourite part). I didn't go too crazy as I wanted the photo to be the main focus. I covered a small title on the border strip, at the top of my page as I wanted to add a cluster of clouds there and I wasn't keen on the font. The border strip is from one of the earlier Say Cheese collections and I much prefer the font's in Say Cheese III (call me picky). I added die cuts, chipboard, enamel dots and stickers from all 3 Say Cheese Collections.

Can you spot the hidden Mickey? Every Disney page needs a hidden Mickey right?

Remember you can join in the fun by 'going large' this month. Simply scrap a 6x8 photo or bigger and upload it to the pinned post on the UK Scrap Addicts Facebook page.

One lucky scrapper will win a prize from Bramble Fox.

More details on the challenge can be found on the July Monthly Challenge post.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Perfect Pout | Kirsteen | Mood Board

Hello, it's Kirsteen here with my layout for this months UK Scrap Addicts theme - mood boards. I've never used a mood board to create a layout before, although I have one or two 'mood boards' on Pinterest so I'm not a stranger to the concept, I was excited to give it a bash. I was even more delighted when I saw the rainbow mood board I was working with. Hello colour!

I kicked off by pulling out some suitable stash. I reached for my most colourful and cheerful collections; Bella Blvd's Color Chaos and Simple Stories Carpe Diem.

Holding on to the colourful happy theme I'd picked from the mood board, I selected these two funny photos of my niece perfecting her duck pout. Along with colour I homed in on the black backgrounds on the mood board and the black stripes of the zebra and included some black on my layout with black Thickers.

I used a 3x4 card cut out from the Bella Blvd collection and chopped it to work with my layout to act as a matt/background for the 'pout' part of my title and to include that lovely splash of pink and the black lettering.

I shuffled some more colourful and black embellishments around until I was happy with how it all looked. Lots of layering, lots of colour and lots to look at. I love this crazy colourful layout and I can't wait to send it to my sister-in-law to add it to my niece's scrapbook.

I hope you've enjoyed my colourful page. Thanks for stopping by.
