She Leaves A Sparkle | Karen Moss | Sparkle

Hello, hello - Karen here with my Sparkle layout.

For this page I used a Paige Taylor Evans cut file to cut some Silhouette double sided sheets and then added them to the same design, this time cut from card.

Once added I removed the top layer and added glitter .

I discovered that you can also use a glue pen to add adhesive to a shape and then add glitter - found this out when I tried it on the areas I had missed with the double sided sticky sheets.

Once I had glittered my flowers and title all that was needed was a few gems and sequins to finish my page.

You can see my process video of the making of this page here.

Dream It - Do It | Karen Moss | Black Background

Hello, hello - Karen here with my black background layout.

I have been wanting to recreate a page similar to this one, which I had seen on the Paper Artsy blog.  Unfortunately, it hasn't been linked to the original designer so I am unable to credit them.

I loved how they have used paint to merge the photo into the background and this was the effect I was aiming for.

I have also added some texture past dots and butterflies (making a right mess in the process).

If you would like to see how I created my page then grab a cuppa and pop on over to our YouTube channel where you will find my process video.

You Colour My World | Punches| Karen Moss

Hello, hello - Karen here with this months theme which is of course punches.

Now, I have a serious addition to punches and have lots and lots and lots - in fact, an embarrassingly large number!  So this months challenge was an easy one.

I started by cutting a doily shape on my Silhouette and decided to add punched strips to the centre of my doily - something I have seen on many pages lately.

I then punched out lots of flowers and leaves from lots of different papers and added these to the bottom right of my page and the top left.

I added some gems to the centre of the flowers (these were an absolute bargain - £1.00 from The Works).

To finish I added a title, made on my Silhouette.

I have a video of how this page came together here.

Don't forget to check out the other projects using punches on our YouTube channel, blog, Instagram and Facebook pages.

Beautiful Ordinary Life | Karen Moss | No Cardstock

Hello, hello - Karen here with my page for the No Cardstock challenge.

Almost all of my pages involve white cardstock in some form or another and so the thought of making one without my beloved white card was quite a challenge.

Fortunately, I had some papers from the Indigo Hills 2 range by Pink Paislee and these papers are very sturdy so I thought I would use these.

I fussy cut the wreath and the sprigs of flowers and then also cut some bunches of flowers from the revers of the paper with the sprigs on.

I cut away part of the wreath and added the sprigs of flowers above and the cut out bunches of flowers at the bottom.

After adding my photo, all that remained was to add some die cuts from the same range.

I have a YouTube video here of how quickly this page came together.

Let It Snow | Karen Moss| Take 5

Hello, hello - Karen here with my version of this months prompt which is 'Take 5'.  I have to admit I was a little confused as to exactly what was required for this one but decided to take the approach of using 5 items and a piece of white card - not sure if that constituted 6 things :0)

I used some 6 x 6 papers with coordinating washi tape, pearls and tags (all from £land) and some mini doilies from Stampin Up.

For my title I cut the title from the front of the paper pack.

You can watch my process video for this page here.

BBFF | Karen Moss | Stamping

Hello, hello - Karen here with my offering for the stamping challenge.

Now, I am not a stamper and I have only recently taken to using stamps but still lack the confidence to stamp onto a layout.

So for this challenge I put on my 'Big Girl's Pants' and made myself rise to the challenge.  I did cheat a little in that I used a Tim Holtz stamping platform as I felt more confident with being able to reink my stamps if the image was patchy and know that it would stamp on exactly the same place.

My layout is about my daughter and her best friend who she used to call her Bestest Best Friend Forever and this seems to be the case as they are still friends 17 years after meeting and each going to separate universities and now living 330 miles apart.

To see how I made this page I have a YouTube video here which shows the process that went into making the page.

We would love to see your pages with stamping on.

Enjoy Today | Karen Moss | Paint

Hello, hello, Karen here with my painty page for September.

As you will have seen, this month our theme is paint and there have been some wonderful pages produced both with watercolour painting and mixed media.  Sadly, I don't have those skills and I was a bit stumped as to how I would approach my layout for this month.  I was saved by Vicki Boutin - she has a new range called Field Notes and one of the papers has a pattern which is a line drawing of a garland of flowers.  My problem was solved I decided that I would add watercolour paint to this paper and make my page from that.

If you would like to see how I built up my page please have a look at my YouTube here.

Loved | Karen Moss | 6 x 6 Paper Pads

Hello, hello - Karen here with my page for this month's theme - 6in x 6in paper pads.

I have to confess I did cheat a little because I used a Kaisercraft Anthology pad which is in fact 6.5 in x 6.5 in so very slightly larger.

For my page I only used what came in the paper pad (it has die cut borders and shapes as well as sheets of paper) and some cardstock.

I fussy cut some butterflies and flowers from the papers to use as embellishments, along with the die cut tags and borders.

I used my Silhouette software to design the triangle heart and title and then cut them both from adhesive backed cardstock.

As I wanted fringed borders at the bottom of my page and I don't own fringing scissors I also cut these with my Silhouette.

If you would like to see how I made my page - I have a video here.

We hope to see you back soon and keep an eye on our YouTube channel as there are new process videos going up all the time.

Until next time - Happy Scrapping xxx

Here & Now | Karen Moss | One "6 x 4" Photograph

Hello, hello - Karen here with my page using one 6 x 4 photo. If I am going to  scrap with just one photo I tend to use 7 x 5, or larger or a small square.   So this was a challenge that make me think.

I started by making an inky background in colours that complimented my paper range (Kaisercraft Miss Betty).  If you look at my YouTube here you will see how I did this.

I cut some pennants for the main base of my page and staggered them down the inked cardstock, which I had mounted onto a piece of pink woodgrain paper.

After mounting my photo onto a piece of patterned paper I added a doily to the left of my photo and another one, cut in half, to the top of my page.

I then placed 'fussy cut' flowers to the bottom right and top left.

The last thing to do was to add my title and scatter some sequins and sparkly hearts around the page.

You can catch up with what the other talented ladies have made this month, or in previous months come to that on our YouTube channel, on Instagram or on our Facebook page.

Until next month 'Happy Scrapping' xxx

Believe | Karen Moss | Monochrome

Hello, it's Karen here with my first page for UK Scrap Addicts and this month's theme is monochrome.  For this page I chose to add mint green to black and white and used a black and white photograph to emphasise the theme.

I predominantly used papers from Kaisercraft's Mint Wishes, which is a Christmas range, for this page as I had two sets of the sticker sheets and some left over pieces of paper.

I used the UK Scrap Addicts free cut file to make a stencil and added crackle texture paste to give my page dimension.

I chopped up the phrases from the sticker sheets to make a non-Christmassy phrase for my journaling and as you can see I splattered some mint green ink over my page.

My page was finished with some chipboard and stickers and the title 'Believe' with a few green gems.

I have a video of how this page came together on our YouTube channel here.

So until next time 'Happy Scrapping' and pop back soon to see what the other UKSA designers have been up to xxx
