GV Grand: Seoul Garden

Yet another dinner outing with my GV peeps! Even though, I’m no longer a staff in GV anymore. I still want to meet up with my favourite GV people (though some of them, we no longer meet up anymore… O.Q) Anyhow this time round, the outing will be at Seoul Garden steamboat/barbeque buffet. These people really love their buffets… lucky for them, they are able to eat a whole lot. But for me? Q.Q
Anyway, we met up at Bugis @7.30pm. First to arrive were Kelvin, Laura, WenJie and me! So we went to Seoul Garden first to get seats. Soon the rest followed after. LengShan was able to turn up for this outing :D! & I got to play with Irshad’s new canon ixus camera (which he got from the GV jackpot card) – I really like the light effects function; kinda like those heart/stars bokeh effects… PRETTY!

So we headed down to Cineleisure to check out the movies and seat availability. To our disappointment, the seats were pathetic. We hung around/loitered around the level. LengShan, WenJie and I tried out the newest Bishi Bashi game!! It was really fun and the point system was somehow different (it’s in Japanese… not really sure but it seems different :X) & if you managed to make it to the top score page, you can have your picture taken and it will appear beside your score! xD
LengShan kept insisting in taking a picture with me; smiling with teeth D:

Anyway, we also met Khir there. He was going to watch a late night movie with his other friends. Since there’s nothing left we could do. We home-d by cab.
It was only when I reached home then I realized my rainbow camera pouch which consist of my spare camera battery, WAS NO LONGER IN MY BAG!!! I suspected that I might have actually left it at the Bishi Bashi game machine; all the way at Cineleisure. I pretty much panicked and called WenJie first. Got Irshad’s number from WenJie and from there, I got Khir’s number.
His movie was about to start and I have to get through to him quick!! But he didn’t seem to be answering his phone… until the very last minute!! He finally answered his phone! He said that he was about to enter into the theatre already. Phew... in a nick of time! I asked Khir to quickly look around the Bishi Bashi machine for my rainbow pouch. But he said there was no pouch to be found :( Then all of a sudden, I heard him talking to someone. Little did I know that… that particular someone actually found my rainbow pouch and waited there for someone to come looking for it! The stranger passed it over to Khir (which I collected the pouch from him in a few days time; through WenJie). Such a nice stranger! :O Thank you so much. May good things come in return to you~ xD I said my thanks to Khir and hung up. & I heaved a humongous sigh of relief when the whole episode was finally over and done with.

Black Belt Grading

I was invited to view an Aikido black belt grading at Poh Leng Building; which I have no idea where is that located at. Heh, it's Joshua's grading; a test for him to advance from brown-gold belt to black! I always wonder how does a martial arts grading looks like and now finally I get a chance to see :X
Uh, the highlights of the grading are:
1) Disarming Techniques (
3) Seated Techniques
Anyway,
Armed with the information from gothere.sg and a camera screenshot of the map, I made my way there. I followed the directions/instructions given by gothere.sg very closely. 21 Moonstone Lane; Poh Leng Building. But I was still lost! I have totally no idea when to alight, there's no distinctive buildings for me to note my location. The reason was... there was a massive construction there! Along the roads and stuff... probably constructing another MRT station/tracks. So the bus stops were shifted and I alighted 1-2 stops late :(
So I was pretty much lost... Tried calling Yusri (because he is the only one I knew who will be there) but there's no answer. Didn't even bother to call Joshua because his grading has started already at 1.30pm. Yes, I am lost and late! D: Viewing the very small map on my camera and my okayish sense of direction, I walked till I saw Poh Leng Building in the distance and also finally found this Moonstone Lane.

The tricky thing was to find a path to get around the front buildings so that I can reach my destination, Poh Leng Building. I was unable to make up my mind which way I should go because I didn't want to waste my time retracing my steps back. Anyhow, I managed to get there after all the trouble and panics.

I advanced up to the third floor where the Aikido Shinju-kai Headquarters is located. Now... I don't know where the spectator room is (@.@) This was pretty much becoming a nightmare for me. It was already 2.30pm; an hour late! I saw some sections were crowded with people standing in front of the doors; another place with shoes placed outside. It was very confusing. I tried calling Yusri again but no one answer. So I decided to approach someone to ask them where is the spectator room. And yea, it's the place where the shoes were placed outside; and when I looked in, I saw there was a television inside to view the grading from the screen.

After I took off my shoes and walked in, I found Yusri sitting at the corner... SLEEPING! No wonder he didn't pick up my calls!!! D: I woke him up immediately and asked him where is Joshua :P He told me that Joshua is #180 and he can't be seen from the television screening; as he was positioned somewhere in front. Hence if I want to see Joshua, I have to go to where the people were crowded at. And so, I proceeded.
It was really crowded. I tried my very best in spotting Joshua by tiptoeing and peering pass the gaps between the people. & I found him :P He was quite in front like Yusri has mentioned and far off the side. I put in lots of effort in trying to take decent pictures after locating him. I had to stretch my arms above the people's heads (do take note that I'm not very tall...), steady my hands before pressing down on the shutter. It was very tough! Did I mention that there's a lot of people blocking and I'm not very tall?
Anyway, there was one point in time I climbed up and stand on a chair (which was left on the side of the door) so that I could have a better view and also better attempts of phototaking.

Well... after awhile, it was getting pretty boring. Maybe, it's because I have no idea what they were doing. Probably some locks and throws and some more locks... Meh, still I was clueless! And also, I was growing a wee bit tired in taking pictures of Joshua :X So I went back to the spectator room and sat beside Yusri, watching him draw one of his girls in Aikido uniform, gi! :)

At 4pm, it was the end of the grading. Everyone in the grading room, packed their weapons and stuffs, left the room ratherly briskly. If I was in there, I would be the first ones to leave the room... it must be really stinky with all those sweat odors! (@.@) AND! Those everyone who left the grading room came pouring into the spectators room D: Soon, the room was overcrowding with people... sweaty people :X Joshua found us and we snapped a few shots together before leaving the Aikido Shinju-kai Headquarters; Poh Leng Building.

AND I found out that I could actually walk to Poh Leng Building from Potong Pasir MRT station! I don't have to take a bus at all and lost my way as a result :( Yep, you guessed it. Yusri, Joshua and I walked to the MRT station to take the train back to where ever we were supposed to go next.
As for me, I packed a $2 nasi lemak for my lunch/dinner and made my way to Great World City... So sad that I have to go to work instead while Yusri and Joshua get to go home (O.Q) & I had double lunch/dinner because WenJie bought for me beehoon as well! He was afraid that I might missed the food order because I start work at 6pm xD Woah, bloated... wek :X
& so,

The day has arrived... It's the day of "Fantasy comes ALIVE!"; video game and anime concert!! :D And it's also Labor Day! I wouldn't miss the chance to not work at all; double pay day... but the extremely sad thing was... I down money on the day as well... $42!!! T.T It's like I didn't work at all :( Such a wasted day... Shouldn't have work, I thought in the end. I could have spent my time preparing and cosplayed for the concert T.T
Anyway, what's done was done. So after work, I rushed down to Buona Vista to meet XueNi. I was a little late due to the delay at work :( Sorry~ From there, with very little guidance, we tried our best to make our way to NUS University Cultural Centre Hall. Apparently, we took the wrong bus, walked the wrong way and ended up very very far away from the Cultural Centre Hall D: It was a disaster. We realized that after asking the security guard and looking at the main map... We were at the hostel part of NUS... We very much hated NUS after this :X
Anyway, what's done was done. So after work, I rushed down to Buona Vista to meet XueNi. I was a little late due to the delay at work :( Sorry~ From there, with very little guidance, we tried our best to make our way to NUS University Cultural Centre Hall. Apparently, we took the wrong bus, walked the wrong way and ended up very very far away from the Cultural Centre Hall D: It was a disaster. We realized that after asking the security guard and looking at the main map... We were at the hostel part of NUS... We very much hated NUS after this :X
The security guard told us to take the bus at the nearby bus depot. We didn't know what buses to take and when the bus would be arriving. After waiting anxiously for the bus for ten minutes - only thirty more minutes till the concert starts, we began to panic and started thinking of other options like going out on to the main street and get a cab to the Cultural Centre Hall. It was then we saw a taxi going into the bus depot. Without even thinking twice, we flagged for it and we were at the Cultural Centre Hall in no time at all! :D We reached there at 7.45pm :) Fifteen minutes before the concert~ Phew~~^^

We went up to the reception desk and presented our tickets. And in return, we got a rather useless booklet, which only the first two pages contain information of the concert and the rest of the pages were stupid advertisements :\

XueNi and I were starving! We didn't eat dinner at all before coming here because we didn't expect to get lost in NUS in the first place :( We browsed through the mini cafe located in the Cultural Centre Hall, everything was so expensive there. We didn't have much a choice so we purchased a sandwich each for $3 :\ Was too hungry! Dx

Well, we were one of the few last ones to get seated :P Our seats were quite at the back; the $30 seats. No photos and videos are to be taken in the theater and during the concert :( I tried my best to secretly take some pictures but there's one staff positioned at the back of the hall the whole time. So I didn't manage to take any during the concert Dx

After the concert ended, most of the audience rushed out and began to queue for the autograph of Hitoshi Sakimoto (composer of FFXII, Romeo × Juliet). XueNi and I didn't really bother about all these signature stuffs and we left the place. It was going to be 11pm anyway. Late, late, late. Later no bus, how? We randomly took a bus out of this messy NUS place and ended up at Clementi. We were like super hungry so we decided to have a quick supper at the nearby coffee shop. Luckily, I managed to catch the last bus of 175 home!! If not, I have to walk home and I don't really know the place very well :(

When I got home and checked the concert leaflet that I've gotten when I bought the tickets... I realized... they cheated my feelings for one song!! :( There was no Super Mario Brothers songs at all!! Ahh, super late post... Just like all my other posts...
So weird to blog about christmas now when it's already long over :\
Pretty lame, I know. But I still wanna blog about it!! :P Real short & quick, kay?
And so, I spent my christmas eve with a few of my closest GV mates @ Vivo City. Went there to buy candy canes for the GV managers and staffs with Rebecca and Edmund; and ended up staying there the whole entire day! Sally met up with me for awhile so I can give her the x'mas doll I made for her :P
Loitered about everywhere until Brandon and Aaron came to join us xD Had fun at the arcade. Dinner at Long John Silver. Played a fool at Daiso and Toys"R"Us. This is my first time seeing Brandon and Aaron behaving like primary school kids! Probably worst than that D: And soon all of us started following them and wreaking the whole place! 有样学样 @_@...

Had a christmas gifts exchange with my polytechnic clique @ Plaza Singapura; Secret Recipe. I was a little late as usual and Joshua waited for me at the bus stop :P When we have reached the location, they have eaten finish their cakes. Anyway, I ordered a main course, Mushroom Chicken Chop. Had our x'mas exchange, with nowhere to go next, we all went off to our different destination called home. Well, except for Moo who went off with his other clique xD
More on the gift exchange session, one will randomly picked a paper with someone else's name on it. If that person got his/her own name, everyone have to pick again xD More fair, right? It was on the 3rd time then all of us managed to get a different name. I picked the paper with Shuhua's name first, then mine and lastly, Moo's.

Sad to say, Koko had an accident on christmas day :( Its claw got stuck on my shirt and it went into a complete panic. It started flapping its wings like mad and due to that, one of its blood feathers broke D: There were blood on the floor. When we thought the blood has already clotted, Damien put Koko on my bed and yes, there was blood on my bedsheets! We read online that we have to remove the broken blood feather pins because it will act like a straw sucking the blood out. When a blood feather is broken, a bird can bleed profusely and die. So we took a tweezers and tried to pluck the feather out. Hoping it was the broken blood feather. Because there was too much blood and with Koko struggling out of our grips, 3-4 feathers were wrongly plucked out. Those mature feathers with no blood in the pins. I was the one holding the bird down and spreading its wing out, while Damien pluck the pin feathers. Anyway, we tried to wash the blood off so that we can have a better look. The whole toilet looked like a crime scene in the end. Blood droplets on the table, mirror, wall and even my face D: The toilet stank with the stench of rust. To cut everything short, yes we managed to find the broken blood feather and pluck it out. We used corn flour as a pro-coagulant to help stop bleeding; in other words, to play safe. Damien was trying to be stupid and in turn, spilled the flour all over the floor. A real genius =.= Popped Koko back into its cage to rest after the traumatized period. Anyway, Koko is alright and still with us :) We have learnt how to handle a broken blood feather and didn't have to bring Koko to the vet and spent $150 on it!
