Shelly & Reis
This is one of my favorite candid wedding photos of family. Both their faces just make me laugh, and I smile every time I see this picture, I love it.
Truman & me have been working through picking our favorite wedding pictures, and it has been so hard! Mark took so many good ones, he's making it VERY hard for us to pick the ones we want for this special album. When I came across this picture, I couldn't help but smile. Mark is so artistic! :)

Camping at
Payson Lake
We went on an official Camping Trip this weekend with another couple! We picked a spot by a lake so we could cool off and have something to do. This lake was absolutely beautiful! Truman bought a round innertube & a long floatie so that we could go out on the lake. Our friends, Sean & Courtney also both had the long floaties, and we paddled ourselves and towed each other all the way across. When we got to the other side there was a kind of balcony that Truman & Sean had fun climbing up and doing backflips off of. Truman also decided to do a backflip while wearing the innertube haha. Even though I said he shouldn't do it, of course he did just fine, and it looked pretty cool. We all got a little burned, but it just felt fun to relax & float down the lake with such beautiful scenery around us!

Yes, my hair is a little frizzy, but considering I couldn't shower & had no mirror, it's okay haha.

Sean, Courtney, Amy, Truman
Sean & Courtney invited us along to go camping with them. We shared the campsite, gas, we cooked one night, they cooked the other, & it worked out great! Sean brought a shovel & rake, and Truman and him had a good time leveling out a spot for each of us to put out tents.

Truman & Sean spent hours throwing a football back and forth, they also tried a volleyball and frisbee, but they stuck with the football the longest haha. It got to where they were launching it as far as they could throw and the other trying to catch it. Courtney & I had fun making hemp jewelry sitting around the firepit, and discussing the Twilight Saga while they played haha.
This is them throwing it back & forth as we walked down to the lake :)
More Camping Fun!

The lake had a really nice little nature trail along the side of it. After we ate dinner, we all went back down to the lake --not to get in in this time, just walk around haha. It was so pretty!

This was Truman & me being cool at the campfire. Sean & Courtney are experienced campers and so they were smart enough to bring Smores supplies, and nice enough to share! haha. You can see to left of me in this picture the light blue chair I'm sitting on. Truman bought me a sweet $5 dollar High School Musical children's chair from Albertson's, it had a drink holder and everything! It was a teeny bit small, but it worked out great! Thank you Truman!
It was a fun summer trip for Truman & me!

HOME IMPROVEMENT PART I

BEDROOM BEFORE:
This room was officially driving us crazy because the walls, window seals, framing, closet doors, bedroom door, baseboards --EVERTHING was painted the exact same color of white.
We were dying for some color, & it was our summer goal to paint our bedroom & bathroom!

We washed the walls with TSP, rinsed them, & put up all the blue tape in both rooms the night before. This way when I got home from work we could get it done fast! --or so we thought...
I got home at 8:30pm, and Truman had the ground covered & everything all set-up. On the right wall you can see the color we started painting it --we were both very disappointed. We had gone way too light, & with the light in the room, it almost looked a creamy pink color. We called Lowe's & they said they could add some brown to it for us. We got over there at about 9pm, and the guy there helped us change it to great darker color! Then we realized with how dark we were going, we were going to need 2 coats. The guy at Lowe's recommended doing a gray primer (which is cheaper) because then we wouldn't have to do a second coat, and we could use the primer for both rooms. So we ended up getting color added to the one paint, a whole separate color for the bathroom, and a can of gray primer. We didn't end up get back from Lowe's till about 10pm, & then finally got to start painting-- well painting the primer anyway, haha.

Truman painting over the gray primer with the new & improved darker color for our room!

BATHROOM BEFORE:
The bathroom had the same blah-ness going on. White walls, white vanity, white cabinents, white shower, white toilet, white white white, blah blah blah. You get the picture...

Truman rolling the primer on the walls

Truman took roller duty while I did the detailing. I was doing the edge along the ceiling here & standing in where two shelves go to hold most of our bathroom stuff in baskets. The bathroom color we chose is a little lighter/more buttery than the bedroom (the colors are really similar).
We were loving the dramatic difference from the white!

Flying Home to Utah

Marshall, Mom, Reis, Tara, & Me
My brother Marshall & me flew out to California for almost a week to visit the fam! It was so fun to see them all again. My Mom is as cute as ever, Tara always has amazing hair and did mine, Reis is a little BOY not a toddler anymore :(, and Marshall, Shelly, & I played lots of MarioKart! It was so fun to see them again! I also got to visit the Westons, the other part of my family! I dropped by to say Hi, just expecting Becky to be home, but to my pleasant suprise I saw Becky, Hayley, Tracy, and Milo! haha. We got to talk and chat for a while, and it was fun to see so much family! Tracy, Hayley, and me got to talk about the Twilight series too which is so fun for me especially because I try not to talk about it too much around Truman haha.
We celebrated my belated Birthday while I was there-- lots of fun and relaxing. It was a super fun summer trip!
By the end though, I was missing Truman pretty bad , it was the best reunion in the SLC Airport hugging Truman again :).

Lake Tahoe with Family

My Favorite little sister!
Come on, my muscles are bigger!

For some reason, McKinnons are just prone to flexing in pictures haha.
A favorite pasttime: Sharing Hot Tamales while riding a boat in Lake Tahoe

Me about to go tubing

This is what happened...twice. haha. jk.
Well I did fall off twice but not right away, it's because my brother and Dad had fun trying to see how fast they could get me to fly off the tube.

BABY-SITTING BIG T

A girl named Georgia in my Ward asked me if I could baby-sit her little boy Thomas while she took some finals, & these were some pics of him. He had the softest hair and softest skin as babies do. haha. He was the most calm little baby I've ever baby-sat. He cried once for about 20 seconds when he was really tired, but that was literally it in a 6 hour time frame. Truman liked to call him Big T, and had fun trying to make him laugh before he went off to work. He was a very sweet baby :).

Adventures at the Nickelcade

Shelly trying to beat me at Air Hockey...to no avail...
Score: 7 to 5

Spider Stompin'

Shelly, Marshall, Truman, & Amy
With all the tickets we won playing games, we had enough to get Matching Friendship Bracelets & why the heck not, Vampire Fangs! haha. I could have edited out the red eyes for the picture, but for some reason, it just seemed appropriate for this picture.
It was a fun night at the Nickelcade, Shelly found Utah isn't half too bad. We had fun playing lots of games, the machines eating our money, & scavenging other machines for nickles. Marshall & Truman gave them trigger fingers a good work out by beating the game Jurassic Park. You sit in one of those Jurassic Park cars and they both had guns (they were in Heaven). It took a few credits & numb fingers but they beat it!!!

My Little Sister Shelly
I am so excited because my little sister Michelle (AKA- Shelly) is coming out to Utah to play! haha. She is the cutest, funniest, spunkiest girl you will ever meet. Shelly is 14-years old, and will be a sophmore at Ponderosa High School in August! She tried out for the Cheerleading Team, and made Varsity with all her gymnast skills! I am so excited for her & so proud of the girl she is! :).
Her & I never ever got along when we were younger, but as we got older we finally started to like each other, & then became the best of friends. We always still had our fights, but couldn't stay mad at each other (well...for too long anyway haha.) I truly miss her in California, & think she is just the best! It was really hard to say bye to her after the wedding. I was going to miss her coming and sleeping in my room when I lived in CA even when she had her own room. I miss so many things about her, & that's why I am so excited for her to fly in today! She'll be here until Tuesday. My brother Marshall, me, & Truman are going to show her a good time in Utah haha. This will be her first time traveling by her own! I can't wait to see her!

Is it just me, or does she have a re-occuring face in these first 3 pictures??? haha.

This was just waking up during last Christmas break, dancing to "Make that Money" with no make-up on... Aww, good sister times! haha.

This is Lake Tahoe 2 summers ago with some of my family. My brother Marshall, Shelly, & me had fun taking pictures! :)
