Well, here's another post. We've been busy but have been loving life. I forgot to share this picture of Sam with Santa at Walmart. He and Morgan saw him a few days before Christmas there.
The day after Christmas we went to CA to be with family. We went to Morgan's parents home first and stayed there for a few days. We enjoyed being with his family. I wasn't very good at taking pictures while we were there but I did get some. The following pics are of the day we exchanged gifts with everyone.
The Young men with their matching bow ties.
Evelyn was posing with her new bracelets next to them.
We put together this puzzle while we were there.
We then went to my parents for a few days. We attended church with them and then exchanged gifts when we got to their home after church.
Sunday Selfies.
Grandma and the kids made scones together.
While the dough was rising, the kids played in the spa.
My mom frying up the scones.
Yummmmmy scones!
Yummy nutella on face! (Nutella is really good on scones too.)
Making lemonade with Grandma.
We made sure to get thee best donuts on the planet as per tradition when we are in CA.
Yummy donuts!
Sam couldn't wait to try out his new BB gun he got from my parents. It turns out he LOVES target shooting and guns.
Oh...ya know. Just climbing trees.
Sam was outside for quite a while shooting.
My mom and I made soap together! It was so much fun! She makes it from lye and really knows what she is doing.
Sam was proud of all the holes in his targets.
Noel put together her Harry Potter lego set that she got from Grandma and Grandpa Young.
We loved our time in CA and were sad to go. We love our family and are grateful for the memories we made with each side of the family this Christmas.
Evelyn started taking Ballet Classes. It is the cutest thing to watch her cute little 3 year old body dancing around.
Ready for church as a Sunbeam! I can't believe how fast she is growing up.
What a poser;)
She dresses herself and this is what she wore on this particular day.
Bowtie buddies all ready for church.
Fort time.
Here's Evelyn pulling Sam behind her. I think she was supposed to be a horse. Haha!
Noel got some geodes for Christmas and so Morgan borrowed someones tile saw and opened them up for her. She is very much into rocks right now. So fun.
The kids had a day off of school and so they had a couple friends over for the whole day. They made and decorated cakes and cupcakes and later on stayed for homemade pizza and a movie. It was a blast.
Noel started Co-Ed Indoor Soccer and is on the same team as her best friend Edith. It's fun to watch Noel play soccer and learn and improve in her soccer skills.
Sam brought some old school work home and with it was this hilarious letter. He was supposed to pretend to be a turkey and write to the farmer and give him some reasons why he shouldn't eat him for Thanksgiving. So hilarious!
Evelyn loves playing games, one of them being Guess Who.
Evelyn wearing 8 pairs of socks! Haha!
On a whim we went with my brother Chris and his wife Kareen and their kids to St. George. It was a nice break from the cold and snow and warm enough for at least the kids and later on for crazy Morgan and Chris to swim in the pool there. They would go back and forth from the hot tub and the pool in weather that ranged from the low 50's to mid 50's.
The condo also had it's own personal hot tub too.
Morgan was able to work remotely from the condo on the friday that we were there. This was his desk for the day. Haha. I sure love this guy.
Evelyn and Libby had the same swimsuits.
Morgan and Chris did too so they tried to pose like Evelyn and Libby.
Here's Morgan going down the slide into the pool.
More hot tub time.
We went to a place called Nielsen's Frozen Custard in St. George. It was sooooo good! These were our faces before eating the ice cream.
Our After faces. Yuuuuuummmmmm!
Evelyn conked right out after getting in the car after eating the custard. It was THAT good!:)
Watching a movie at the condo.
We went through Snow Canyon and went on the Petrified Sand Dunes Hike. It was beautiful!
A cool looking lil' cave.
Little footprints and tail prints from maybe a lizard or rodent.
More swimming.
We visited an old gypsum mine called "Glitter Mountain" and the kids collected a bunch of pieces of gysum rock. It was sooo cool.
Can you see the rocks sparkle and glitter? It was so neat.
My brother Chris with his son Tate.
It was such a fun trip and much needed. Thanks Chris and Kareena for a great time!
Sam found out that he likes breakfast sausage with whipped cream! Haha.
My mom was in town and was able to see one of Noel's indoor soccer games. It was fun to have her there and spend time with her while she was here. She is such an amazing woman, mom and grandma.
Morgan and Sam went target shooting up our canyon near us and had some fun.
The kids built a boat like Nephi in the Book of Mormon.
Evelyn loves to play with her legos.
Noel being goofy with her mermaid tail blanket.
Evelyn dressed up in one of her princess dresses for a special ballet dance class. It was too cute.
I love her little half smirk smiles.
Just hanging out.
Evelyn with a nylon stocking over her head. She thought it was so funny.
The kids really like the animated version of Lion King and are always quoting/singing the little tune that Rafiki sings. Noel wrote it on her white board and I thought it was cute how she spelled it and how she drew Rafiki in the tree bouncing up and down on the branch like he does in the movie.
We got about 4 to 5 inches of snow this last Monday and school was cancelled. It was fun for them to have a Snow Day!
Evelyn's cheeks looked funny after coming in from playing in the snow. Her cheeks looked like they were swollen, like they each had a big welt. It was in the 20's while she was playing out there, so it was pretty cold. We weren't worried at all and I didn't think about it much until later when it all cleared up and I looked it up and found that it's an early sign of frostbite! So crazy!
Sam had his 2nd Grade Program that was Magic School Bus themed and he sang with his classmates and had a couple of memorized parts that he said perfectly. He did such a good job. Performing and singing in front of people is something that he has struggled with because he gets very self consious and nervous, but he did so well and later said he wasn't really nervous this time.
My mom was still in town and was able to attend Sam's program and brought my nephews Remi and Simon.
