Really Reasonable Ribbon & CardMaker "Summertime" Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!
Welcome to what I am sure will be an AWESOME blog hop!

The Really Reasonable Ribbon girls, and the CardMaker magazine blog girls have all teamed up to share some summertime inspiration with you. I am blessed to work on both teams with these wonderful ladies!

If you are here from the CardMaker blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened on to my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.  Make sure and leave comments along the way because Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon will be giving away several prizes to hoppers who comment. They will be picked at random from random blogs, so the more you comment, the greater your chances of wining one of them!

If you like what you see, I invite you to become followers of both the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog and the CardMaker blog so you can keep up with what all of my amazing friends create for your inspiration. :)

We were asked to use the Really Reasonable Ribbon' July Ribbon Club set to create a "Summertime" project. That was a breeze with these pretty ribbons! :)

Two things that remind me of summer are picnics and lazy day activities like flying a kite. I based my card off of this pretty designer paper with a picnic blanket and kites.

I simply trimmed down the 6x6 paper and attached it to my card base. Then I created a kite from coordinating designer paper (scored with my Scor-pal), bakers twine,  and cake pop sticks. I used four different ribbons from the set to make the tail extra pretty!

Here's a closer look at the kite so you can see how 3 dimensional it is. :)

Your next stop on the hop is sweet Linda's blog.

Other Card Supplies
Scor-Pal and Scor-tape
Inky Antics - #11026MC Cupcake Birdy (sentiment)
Want2Scrap - White Finesse Pearls Swirls and White Pearls
Webster's Pages "Sunday Picnic and Every Day Poetry" stack
Spellbinder's Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities
Terri Sproul's Jewel Effects Mixers and 3D Crystal Effects from Sakura Hobby Craft
GlueArts self adhesive squares
ColorBox cat's eyes

Remember to increase your chances of winning a prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon by leaving a comment! ;)  :)

CardMaker Magazine Blog "He's All That" Blog Hop

(If you are looking for the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop, please CLICK HERE)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to another fun blog hop with the CardMaker magazine blog design team!

If you are here from sweet Anya's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened onto my blog, you will want to head back to the CardMaker blog where it all starts.

We are featuring cards for guys this month. They can be birthday, Father's Day, or any other occasion, as long as they are masculine.

Perfect timing for me! One of the guys my hubby works with, recently retired from John Deere to spend his time farming. My sweet hubby asked me to make him a retirement card with that in mind.

This is what I came up with....

I used some "found" corrugated cardboard for the plowed hills, and used chalk and a hand cut cloud template for the sky.
The John Deere stickers are Heritage logos from Creative Imaginations.
The tractor on the inside is clip art, and the sentiment was computer generated.
The cardstock is Brilliant White, Straw, and Classic Yellow Green, all from Discount Card Stock.
The Yellow Gold Organza Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I added multiple blank pages because Robert passed it around the shop so others could leave a retirement comment and signature too.
Because of the thickness, I also made a coordinating envelope box to keep it in.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. If you liked my card, I would love for you to leave me a comment before you go. BTW...you can leave a comment if you didn't like it too.  ;)

Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Michelle Woerner's blog. I am sure she has something amazing to share with you! :)

Hugs,

Welcome to CardMaker Magazine Blog's Birthday Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to our CardMaker Magazine "Birthday Blog Hop"!

First, I have to say...
She is the Managing Editor of CardMaker Magazine, a lovely soul,  and she's another year sweeter today!
I know I have already shared this photo of the CardMaker girls that made it to CHA, in our In-N-Out Burger hats, but I dressed it up a tad for the occasion with one of my illustrations from Clear Dollar Stamp's Birthday Party set.

(pictured: Carolyn King, Brooke Smith, Kimberly Crawford, Tanya Fox, and myself)

OK...now on to the business at hand.
All of the CardMaker girls were given this photo for inspiration and were asked to do a birthday card based off of it.

Here is my card, which I popped in the mail yesterday for someone special! :)....

I used Inkadinkado's "Happy Birthday Cupcake" set. I stamped the cupcake with Ranger Ink's Mushroom Adirondak Ink then added clear embossing powder and heat set. The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Ranger's Silver embossing powder.
The cardstocks are: Brilliant White, Turquoise, Silver Polish, and  Cyclamen Cascata Felt from Discount Card Stock.
The pretty ribbon is Fuchsia Glitz from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The Silver Rhinestones are from Want2Scrap.
The white is embossed with Provo craft's Happy Birthday embossing folder.
I used Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies on the image, and a Martha Stewart corner punch to create the sentiment frame. Added some color to the edges with some Ranger Ink, did a little stitching, then put it all together with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Glue and ZapDots. Viola!

Here's the hop list:
Tami Mayberry
Carolyn King
Me  ;)
Colleen Schaan
Kimbery Crawford
And last but not least, head back to the CardMaker blog and wish our sweet Brooke a happy birthday. :)

Please make sure and leave some love on all of the girl's blogs. After all, you all are the reason we love sharing what we do!

Thanks for hopping by!  :)

CardMaker Magazine ~ Imaginisce Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the CardMaker Magazine - Imaginisce blog hop!

Imaginisce was super generous (Thank you Imaginisce!) and sent CardMaker lots of product to share with their designers.
We are all going to be showing you projects today made with those products.

For my card, I made "flower center" buttons out of Imaginisce's pretty "All Kinds of Happy" designer paper collection that I already had on hand. The other designer papers on this card are Imaginisce also. I LOVE their fun papers!

How did I make the buttons you ask? ;)
With the AMAZING i-top Tool and 22mm i-top Brad Daddies.
I used their 22mm i-top Punch to punch out the cupcakes and the sentiment from some of their designer papers. I created the brad buttons then added some gloss medium to make them shine. :)
The loops are made out of seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The pearls are from Want2Scrap.

I also made a quick little pin using fabric and an i-top Badge Daddie.
I was going for a retro-vintage look so I put some mulberry roses and some Want2Scrap Sage Green Pearls on the pin, then added green glitter and several coats of gloss medium to give it a kind of "plastic/tacky" kind of look. :)

The i-top Badge Daddies are really cool because the pin back is already attached! :)

Here are the other girls who are playing along in the hop.
I am sure they will have some super fun projects to share with you!

Please make sure and leave comments on all of the girls blogs so we will know you played along on our little hop. :)

Also, I would like to invite you to visit Imaginisce's blog and see some of their team's projects made with the i-top and other cool tools and supplies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop and CDS Digi Release Day!

Hello everyone!

Today's card is a double duty beauty! :)

Now, for the CardMaker hop, the theme is "Little Lullaby's". We were asked to create a card for a baby.
I wanted to use my pre-colored Butterfly Bunny digi that is releasing today so I took a little artistic licence and made a different sentiment then what comes with the stamp (this is something anyone can do in Word or any photo editing program).  I think the "Welcome Little One" sentiment makes this image work very well for a baby card. ;)

I printed 2 images then popped part of it with Helmar ZapDots to give it some added interest and dimension.
I created the floral designer paper to match the image and it is included in the "Butterfly Bunny" digi set.

The cardstock is Brilliant White and Herbal Garden Medium both from Discount Card Stock.
I used some pretty seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The white pearls are from Want2Scrap and it was all put together with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Glue.

This is what my new pre-colored Butterfly Bunny digi set looks like.
It is available now from Clear Dollar Stamps for just $3.50 and it comes with the colored version, (2) digi papers, the sentiment plus a line art version in case you would like to color it yourself.

Make sure and visit the rest of the CardMaker blog design team. I am sure they have some adorable baby cards to share with you!
Here are the links...
Trudy Sjolander -You are here :)

We would love it if you left comments on all of the blogs so we will know who took the time to come visit us. ;)

Make sure and head back to the CardMaker blog and let us know what you thought of the hop! :)

Also, Please go check out the Clearly iStamp blog and check out all of the new digis plus more cards the girls have created with my Butterfly Bunny set.

I Found Another "Published" Card I haven't Shared Yet! LOL!

Hi again everyone!
This is my second post for the day so please scroll down to see my layout.  ;)

Usually, when you have a project in a book or magazine, they would like you to wait awhile to post them on our blogs. Of course the September issue of CardMaker was a little different for me because I was the "Featured Designer" and they also featured me for several weeks on their Facebook page and asked me to show the cards form that issue. It's a good thing because I won't forget them like I did this card! LOL!  ;)
I was looking though all of my Basic Grey cards and came across it. I used their Granola stack which is an oldie but goody.  It was new when I made this card! LOL!
BTW...when I went looking for the link to Granola, I found they still have some in stock and it is on a mega clearance! The 12x12 paper pad was $20.00 and is on sale for just $5.00! Wow! That's crazy cheap!

My card was published in the "Coloring Techniques For Card Making" book by DRG Publishing along with 4 others I created. It can be found on page 31. ;)

The adorable image #0659J "Puppy Love" from Inky Antics.

Thanks for taking a peek!
Don't forget to scroll down to see what else I've done today!  :)

Hugs,

More Cards From The September Issue of CardMaker!

Hi Everyone!
Today is the third and final week that CardMaker is featuring me on their Facebook page as the September issue's "Featured Designer".
Because they have been doing that, I have been able to share the cards that I created for that issue!
I showed you one last week and one the week before and I have 2 left. Both of them are simple cards that would be easy for even the newest card make to recreate.
The first is "Autumn Blessings". It can be found on page 6 (the Editor's Notes page) and page 49 of the September issue of CardMaker.
I used a digital stamp that I illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps called "Autumn Blessings". It is available for instant download  for just $2.50!
Why not get a jump on your Fall and Thanksgiving projects? ;)

My last card is called "Fall Thank You" and can be found on the upper right hand corner of the cover and on page 53.

I can't share my card recipe because of publication rights but you can find all of the details for these and my 2 other cards in the September issue of CardMaker
Did you know you can also buy the digital version of CardMaker? It is awesome!

Look for more of my projects in the November issue that's coming out soon!

Thanks for dropping by!

Hugs,
True :D

PS...I would love it if you headed over to CardMaker's Facebook page, like them and tell them Trudy sent ya!  :)

Woooo Hooo! Check out page 61 of CardMaker magazine's May 2010 issue! That's me!!! Blog candy to celebrate!

THIS CANDY IS NOW CLOSED.
Hello All!

I am soooo excited! I have only been making cards a couple of years and am thrilled to have a card published in CardMaker magazine! It was the first time I ever submitted a card! The hard part was waiting for it to hit the stands (mail box). ;)

My card is on page 61 of the May 2010 issue that is just out. I couldn't wait for my mail man so I downloaded the online version last night then my hard copy came today!

It is titled "Thinking of You" and was fun and easy to make. Check out the magazine for the recipe and instructions. (I am not allowed to post them here and rules are rules ;D ). It is made with a Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp set called "WITH DEEPEST SYMPATHY".

To celebrate being "published" I am giving away 2 sets of candy! One to a current follower because I appreciate your wonderful comments and the fact that you check in from time to time to see what I am up to. The other one to a brand new follower because I love meeting new people!

What is the candy you ask..... each one will be a year's subscription (or extension) to CardMaker magazine AND the beautiful stamp set that I used to make this card.

All you have to do is become a follower if you aren't already, add a picture of the magazine or stamp to your sidebar with a link back to my blog, and leave a comment below. Make sure and tell me if you are a current follower or a new one. New ones will have a better chance of winning because I am guessing they will have the smaller numbers of comments but my current followers know that there will be more chances soon. I LOVE to show my appreciation with blog candy! This candy will remain open until May 1st.  I will draw names for the 2 winners and announce them on the 2nd..

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my excitement!

Hugs your way!
