Hi everyone! Its been a week since we blogged so we wanted to say hello! Next week we promise we'll be back in the swing of things. Its just been a ROUGH week!
But Mama said she wants to say thank you to the FIFTY pets and people who commented or emailed to cheer her up and check on us! It really lifted Mama's spirits. It meant so much to us that we've made such good friends in the pet blogosphere. Even people we didn't even know were stopping to wish us well! The blogosphere is an amazing thing, isn't it? We love being a part of it. And we wanted to thank all of our friends SO MUCH for reaching out to us.
The good news is, Gramma and Grampa are back from their vacation in Arizona. Grampa brought Mama home a weird lollipop. It has an actual dead scorpion inside of it! Gramma told Mama to throw it away, but Mama wants to keep it... although she is not sure she will ever eat it!
The bad news is, yesterday Mama's great-aunt, Auntie Etta, passed away. She had been sick for a long time and in a lot of pain, and basically made the decision for no more life saving measures to be done. Mama hadn't seen her a lot in recent years, but used to see her a lot when she was little. When Mama was a baby, Auntie Etta knitted her a W blanket, which Mama treasured, slept with, and carried around with her 24/7 for her entire childhood. In fact, Mama still has it on her bed! Want to see?
Auntie Etta also knitted W blankets for Mama's little brother, and for some of Mama's little cousins... although probably the youngest batch of cousins didn't get W blankets since Auntie Etta didn't have the energy to knit them any more.
She also really closely helped raise two of Mama's cousins who were her grandkids. Those kids are in their 20's now and one has a baby of her own, but they are having a really hard time dealing with it since they were so close to her.
So anyway all of that is not helping with Mama's sadness issues, even though Gramma and Grampa are back, because now she is just thinking about how easy it is to lose the ones you love.
But she is doing much better and feels bad about neglecting our blog for so long. We're going to try to go visit all of your blogs today, too! We can't wait!
Thanks again for all your love, kind words, and support.
Love,
Trixie, Lily, Sammy-Joe, and Mama.

Mama Is A Lot Of Work
Hi everyone! its me, tiny little Lily, back to tell you more stuff!
I've been working really hard lately. Really, really hard!
See, Mama hasn't had any work or school lately. So she's always sitting around, doing things, like watching TV, using the computer. Stuff like that. If she just sits around all the time, she's gonna have health problems! My job is to make her do some exercise!
Here's what I do. I hide my ball under the couch, and whine at her until she gets down on the ground and gets it. Then she stands up. I repeat. Lay down.. Stand up. Down. Up. Down. Up. Good work, Mama! Feel the burn!
To make things more challenging, sometimes I roll two of my balls under the couch! Then, when she gets one, I whine at her that it is the wrong one! Down, Mama! Up! Down! Up!
If I want to get Mama moving even more, I run into the other room and bark at the cat. Mama jumps up and chases me, yelling, "Bad Lily! Leave the kitty alone!" Good Mama! Run, Mama, run!
I make sure to pepper this exercise with lots of trips outside. Lets go out, Mama! 'Round the block! Left-right-left-right! Hup two three four! Good Mama!
I know. It is a lot of work. But it is worth it. Because...
Mama shares her treats with me!
(And don't worry. I share with Trixie too.)
Have a good day, friends! I love you all!

Mama Sad
Its me, little Lily! Its not my turn anymore to write. Today was nobody's turn, and tomorrow will be Sammy-Joe's turn. But Mama said I can have an extra turn tonight because she's feeling sad and cannot go to sleep, which means I am up running around anyway. Mama is sad because my mean Uncle Jay, who has been visiting from California for two weeks, is leaving tomorrow. And Gramma and Grampa, who have been off of work for most of the past two weeks, have to go to work tomorrow. So Mama will be here all alone. It makes her sad to think about being alone.
That's a big part of our job as support dogs... because with me and Trixie and Sammy-Joe around, Mama is never all the way alone. When she is sad and crying we will sometimes help just by laying by her and letting her hold us and licking her tears. Other times we help out just by needing her. She will have to get up and take us for walks during the day. She will need to throw the ball for me at least ten million times. She cannot just be sad all day.
When Mama is sad it is sometimes harder for her than when other people are sad, because her sad just won't go away. It makes her hurt and hurt and hurt, and she cannot look at the TV or eat or use the computer or go outside because everything makes her feel yuck. But me and Trixie and Sammy-Joe can help her feel a little bit better and closer to normal, so she can do those things. She will be very sad when Uncle Jay leaves in the taxi, and we will have to lick her and hug her and look our cutest at her until Gramma gets home from work.
Mama will be okay because later on tomorrow when Gramma gets home from work, she and Mama are going to go to the grocery store, and then the next day they are going to make this oatmeal. It takes like ten million hours to make. That is kind of confusing to me because my Grampa makes oatmeal every morning before he goes to work. He always shares some with me. He makes it really fast in the microwave. But Mama and Gramma say this is super good oatmeal that takes forever and ever to make! I hope they share with me!
Wanna see a really silly picture of Mama? She got a hat for Christmas that makes her look like a doggy. She thinks when she takes us for walks, people will think we are three dogs walking together!
OK Mama says she might go night-night now. Tomorrow will be Sammy-Joe's turn to write, and he says he will show you his secret fort!
Bye, friends!

Our New Years Eve Party!
Hi, its me, Trixie! Since I am the next oldest, I get to be the second one to write in our new blog!
We have already made lots of new friends because of this blog... and we've learned that having a blog is a lot of work! But Mama said it was about time we got a hobby, anyway.
Its New Years Eve! I am not sure I like New Years Eve. Someone is shooting off fireworks on the next street from us, and it is freaking me out! Mama keeps petting me and hugging me, but I am still kinda scared. Its like the Fourth Of July all over again!
I wanted to tell you what we're doing for New Years Eve. But first I have to tell you a secret about Mama, and why we are very special pets.
We all took a vote and we think Mama is wonderful the way she is. But she says her brain isn't quite right for the human world. She has a lot of problems with paying attention and making good decisions, and she gets nervous and sad a lot. That's why she doesn't like to go to crowded places, and why she isn't going to any parties tonight even though the other humans in the house are all going out.
We are special pets because we are Mama's Psychiatric Support animals. We keep her company and help her to not freak out. Us dogs can even go places with Mama sometimes. Lily gets to go more places than me because she is smaller and more portable than me. (But I am definitely a better protector than Lily, because I am bigger!)
Tonight Mama wants to stay home and spend New Years Eve with us. Thats why we love her! We're going to watch movies and eat cookies all night!
Do you want to hear one more secret? Don't tell Sammy-Joe this, but Mama is totally allergic to cats. She has to take a medicine every day because his fur makes her go ACHOOOOO fifty million times! Mama says don't tell Sammy-Joe this because it might hurt his feelings, and she loves him even though he makes her sneeze. She says when Sammy-Joe is mad at us dogs, he makes her sneeze even more than usual! Can you believe that?
Those fireworks are really making me nervous, so I am going to go hide under a chair or something. See ya later!
