A Lovely Surprise... My "Get Well Soon" Blog Feature

Hello + Hello!
Just stopping in here to say a big
Hi!
(long time no speak....sorry about that)
Frankly January is always MY craziest month.
I wish I could have a slow peaceful month like most folks who actually complain
about being bored in January.
But, alas no. I be hoppin' busy!!
I've been off to market for a week in
Atlanta....then came home to be stuck in bed for a week with the flu.
Icky!
Next it's taxes, inventory & the one good thing...magazine/blog feature deadlines.
Eeeeep!
But, all in all it's truly necessary and ultimately..... good stuff in the end.
>>>>>---------------->
Well,
anyway....until I can have a bit of time to myself to formulate a
well written creative blog post for your enjoyment....
today I'm going to share a surprise blog post which was featured
by a sweet old friend
Claire of
What a happy day it was (after being so sick)
to wake up and have such a sweet feature
on my home and studio.
Claire is always reporting on the charming-est
parts of home décor and crafting.
If you've never taken the time to slip over to her blog....
well....
you are in for a big treat!!
I love all that she features,
and find myself pinning and re-pinning from
her Pinterest feed & her blog
on a regular basis to my own
I urge you to take a moment & refresh yourself
at Claire's
I know I did...
I bet you won't be sorry you did!
Cheers,

Hello + Hello!
Well it's been a bit of time since I've been able to sit down and really enjoy creating a blog post!
With a busy holiday home life, a retail shop & our home on tour this past week
(more on that later)
it's been a little more than hectic around here.
BUT,
I'm not complaining.....it's been a fun ride!
A bit like a scary rollercoaster;
thrilling and frightening all at one time!

>>>>>--------------->

How fitting that my first relaxed blog post
would be about such a peaceful entry.
Winter Whites.....
who doesn't love a peaceful wintery white scene from time to time?
Even my color craving life can benefit from a monochromatic snowy
outlook from time to time.

Market Report : Gathering up Greige

 Hello + Hello!
How has your Autumn been thus far?
Hopefully wonderful!
I just stopped in to share some outtakes
from my last

Have you gotten a copy yet?
Oh, it's so lovely!
Don't wait....get it soon!
I loved the beautiful photography
&
sweet styling by each of the lovely contributors.

In my report I speak mainly about the color trend of
"greige"
(grey mixed with beige)
as a perfect back drop for the
newer resurgence of
NEON.
If you've noticed pops of intense color saturating the monochromatic
greige scheme
you're not alone...
 I'm seeing it too!
Honestly,
I kinda like it!
It's a cool mix of neutral, industrial & pops of neon.
I like that it's exciting....I will always have a soft spot for bold color.
 It's a sort of
Rustic Romance...soft textures set against raw materials...
 ....natural materials....
 ...aged...
 ....and imperfect.
And you can find out more about it in my report.

Hope you can enjoy this season of harvest doing all that you love best.
One of the things I like best is looking out for new trends...
&
speaking of which...
I've just written my next report, and you can look for it soon over at
Until then my friends....
cheers!

Ice Cream Social & Book Signing With A Cherry On Top

 Hello + Hello!
How's everyone doing?
I'm floating on a cloud of whipped cream dreams.....
ha ha ha!!!
Seriously....
this past week has been a whirlwind of fun partying galore for my family!
I very much enjoyed all of it...but must admit I'm a little bit exhausted from it today.
All the prep work and excitement of getting things ready for the lovely
was ABSOLUTELY worth it!
Koralee was kind enough to pop into our shop
to sign her new book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!

You may already know I was blessed enough to be asked by
Koralee to be a contributor to her book along with many other wonderful folks.
It was "pure joy" to have Koralee in the shop with us the night of our
Mother's Day Sale & Ice Cream Social.
Many sweet folks stopped in and had her sign a copy of her book for them.
 Of course,
in true Grandiflora fashion,
we dressed up like old fashioned
Soda Jerks
to serve up the
goodness that only Grandiflora can offer!
We had a ton of fun together, and I'm so thankful for all our amazing employees
who are always so willing to go along with my hair brained ideas
for costumes to fit our functions!!!
( I love you girls!!!)
>>>>>--------------->
It was such a wonderful surprise to meet a new friend of
Koralee's named Carol.
(She also has a feature in the book: Ice Cream Snow Balls)
Carol is obviously very talented and has a very generous spirit just like
Koralee....no wonder they are partners in
the sweet pursuit of ice cream crime!

Did I mention we had a contest for our customers as well?
Oh yes we did!
All you had to do was come dressed as your favorite flavor of ice cream
(strawberry = pink, bubblegum = blue, etc...)
BUT....
we were also giving away gift certificates to the most
creative costumes;
...wouldn't you agree these girls won?
Ha ha ha!!!
LOVE IT!
There were goodies galore & great buys to be had by everyone!
My sister and partner at Grandiflora (La Von)
deserves all the thanks...
If it weren't for her,
I'd never have wondered over to Koralee's blog
and fallen head over heels for her
sweet style.
>>>>>--------------->
Want to know what the
Cherry On Top Was?
Being able to chat with Koralee all night long!
.........
"I'm so glad we met my friend;
here's to your continued success at
Where Women Cook
& with your lovely sweet book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!"

**All images are credited to my talented niece Emily Visser. Thanks so much for taking photos, so I could have the night off from playing photographer and enjoy my company!**

My Market Forecast In The NEW Spring Issue of Gatherings Magazine

Hello + Hello!
I just wanted to stop in and let you all know that the Spring issue of
is now available to view online!
This magazine is an unreal collaboration
from a wonderfully diverse group of creative folks
who've come together under Heather's excellent editorial skills.
This diversity has allowed Heather to create a magazine like no other.
>>>>>--------------->
What I love most about this magazine,
is the fact that I could share it with any woman from age 21 to 81
and everyone of them could find something lovely to enjoy.

Heather runs her magazine like we run our shop;
it's a lifestyle magazine.
Just like our shop, each of the happiest parts of domestic life are touched upon in this issue:
- home decor
- shopping
- collecting vintage
- crafting
- fresh floral arranging
- gardening
- cooking & baking
- taking tea
- personal accessories
- child rearing
- and the list goes on!

It makes for a very well rounded experience; one which others are
very excited to share with friends.
I believe this issue in particular, will be one such issue.
Once you view it, you'll want to share it with your friends....
and I hope you do.

>>>>>--------------->

Needless to say,
I am completely honored to spread the word &
feel blessed to be a part of the Gatherings
family once again.
This time I'm in a new role as
Market Editor.
(A role I am extremely excited about as main buyer for our family owned business

Heather has entrusted me with the fun, albeit risky business of
trend forecasting.
I can honestly say that it has been a real challenge...
 one well worth completing.

Please head on over to
Heather's amazing magazine
as soon as you can....it's such a wonderful publication,
you won't be sorry you did!
Cheers!

Festive Ice Cream Sundae Flags Tutorial DIY

Hello + Hello!
How are all you lovelies?
Happy Weekend to you!
I thought I might drop in here and share a few more outtakes from the
little book feature I did for
in
If you'd like to know more about this
awesome crafty ice cream book

>>>>>--------------->
Today I wanted to share a few photo outtakes of
my ice cream cozy
&
share a simple tutorial on making my ice cream sundae flags.
Although the directions for the ice cream cozy are in the book
(Wouldn't want to spoil it now, would we?)
The simple instructions for the
sundae flags are not.
So,
here we go:
Gather your materials:
-bamboo skewers
-assorted ribbons (wired works best)
-ruffled confetti fringe paper garland
-extra sticky craft glue
-scissors

>>>>>--------------->

DIY
Cut a piece of ribbon about 7-8" long. Coat the inside of the ribbon with the tacky craft glue.
Lay the blunt end of the skewer in the center of the ribbon, and fold ribbon over on itself.
Allow to dry. Meanwhile cut a piece of the paper fringe garland about 2" long.
When the ribbon is dry, trim the end in an inverted V shape.
Twist the ribbon to look as if it's flying in the wind.
Glue the paper fringe garland snippet to the top and allow to dry.
(If you can't find paper fringe, use a pom-pom instead.)
and
Voila!
Festive Ice Cream Sundae Flags!
These work great for cupcakes and wedding cakes as well.
I hope you enjoyed this simple little tutorial.
Like I said earlier,
if you like these ideas and more....
you can find a ton of them in
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
T.
