Trese at the Metro Comic Con

And now, my very delayed post about the Metro Comic Con 2011

Since me and Kajo are trying to finish the fourth case of Book 4, in between all our usual work, let me just recap the highlights of MCC with these pictures I stole from other people’s Facebook accounts (Hello Ner and Carlo and everyone else who tagged us on Facebook!)

wherein Xandra Ramos of National Bookstore and Ernest Hernandez of Sketchpad Inc. cut the ribbon and official open Metro Comic Con 2011 (and I thought it was line to the buffet table)

With Karen, Vince, the real Hank, Kajo, Wella "The Accountant", Ian Sta. Maria, and Ace Enriquez

And we just want to say thanks to everyone who got copies of Trese, Precinto 13 by me, David, and Atan, Bathala: Apokalypsis by David Hontiveros and Ace Enriquez, the Skyworld series by Mervin Ignacio and Ian Sta. Maria, and The Filipino Heroes League by Paolo Fabregas

That's David Hontiveros on the left and Paolo Fabregas on the right and that's what I look like when I haven't had my first cup of coffee in the morning.

That's Paolo Fabregas on the left and Invisiboy on the right.

Getting a little kickback from Mr. David Lloyd

Philip Tan, the other Tan, and Heubert Michael Khan-- hatching a plan!

THE KAMBAL COSPLAYERS

Me and Jay Tablante wanted to give away this wonderful poster of Bianca King’s cosplay Trese and all people had to do was come to the MCC dressed up like Trese or the Kambal or any other character from the comic book.

Well, only a couple of brave souls dared to dress up and here are the lucky winners.

We also got to play around with actual Kambal masks that were made for Jay’s shoot. So, yes, these are one-of-a-kind masks and they are not for sale. (But don’t worry, we’re trying to figure out if we can find a way to make more masks at a more affordable price.)

Free TRESE cosplay poster

We will be giving away this limited-edition TRESE cosplay poster by Jay Tablante at the Metro Comic Con.

Here's how you can get this poster for free:

1
Come to the Metro Comic Con on May 7 and 8 dressed up as Trese or the Kambal or any of the characters from the comic book. (If you want to cosplay Capt. Guerrero or the Nuno or Maliksi the Tikbalang, that's also fine with us!)

2
Go to our booth and have your picture taken.

3
Get a free poster!

It's that easy!

We will only have 30 posters and it'll be given away on a "first come, first served" basis. (So, if 30 people come and cosplay Trese on the first day, then we won't have any posters to give away on the second day.)

See you at Metro Comic Con 2011!

TRESE at the Metro Comic Con 2009

Congratulations to the organizers of the first METRO COMIC-CON!
From out side of the conventional hall, everything was pulled off without a hitch. (I think the only untoward incident of the event was when Chez Fidelino's Powerbook was stolen from the Sputnik Comics booth.)

Thanks to everyone who bought copies of TRESE. Thanks to the ones who already had copies but decided to buy new ones because they forgot their copies at home and they really, really wanted us to vandalize their mint condition copies of Trese.

It was great to finally meet the people we originally met online, especially the ones we’ve met on DeviantArt.

Thanks to everyone who also got the Trese Amulettes (and to everyone who laughed at my joke about the amulettes having magical powers – yes, I know only two of you laughed, but I kept telling that joke anyway).

If you were not able to get any Trese Amulettes, we’re planning to make them available soon. Just give Ronnie and Ceres time to make more. (Yes, each one is hand-made!)

Thanks to Wella for manning the booth through-out the con and for doing a convincing job in pitching the comics to people ("Yes, this is about supernatural crime... and this one is about Third World superheroes.")

Thanks to Sally and Kid Kulit for taking care of the Trese sales.

Many thanks to ones who got Skyworld and The Filipino Heroes League. Hope you liked those books as well and send us feedback soon!

If you missed out on those titles, read more about them at:
http://skyworldcomics.multiply.com/
http://pfab.deviantart.com/

Thanks again for patiently waiting for TRESE: BOOK 3. If you noticed Kajo sketching away at the table then you already got a glimpse of the final pages to Case #13.

By the way, TRESE has been nominated in several categories at KOMIKON AWARDS. Please do us the favor and vote for TRESE at
http://komikon.deviantart.com/

See you at the 2009 KOMIKON, October 18 at the Megatrade Hall!

(thanks to Brandie and Lette for the pix)

TRESE Amulettes

UPDATE: Sorry, these items are currently out-of-stock. We will post an update on this blog if these will be available again. Thank you very much.

hey kids :)

Bad news: TRESE: BOOK 3 won't be ready for the Metro Comic Con

Good news: available at the MCC will be these TRESE AMULETTES :)
(which may or may not provide you with protection against aswang and enkanto -- but will definitely attract the opposite sex and make them say: "Wow! That's so cute! What's your name?)

The Amulettes will be available in the following variants:
rings
necklaces
keychain/charms

Price? Very affordable!
(to be determined ... but definitely below P100)
hehehe

--budjette

p.s. Yes, TRESE Book 1 & 2 will be available at the MCC, as well as THE LAST DATU, written by me and Kajo (and drawn by Kajo)
