This month at YOUR NEXT STAMP, our Design Team (DT) Dare challenge is called SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE. That means we were given the challenge to create a shaker card. Oh boy, this was going to be a real challenge, as I have only ever made ONE other shaker card. That one turned out okay (here), however I think I filled it a bit too much.
So for today's DT Dare, I used a the sweet Phoebe with her Wagon, along with the matching die.
To create my shaker box, I first cut the Happy Birthday sentiment (from the Big Balloon die set) from a 4.75 x 3.15 inch piece of cardstock. I positioned the die in the bottom (centre) approximately 0.5 inches from the bottom and ran that through my die cut machine. I then carefully used my paper trimmer to cut out the inside of my rectangle panel to leave the sentiment and a 0.5 inch frame.
I adhere some acetate and then another frame cut from the dark blue cardstock. I stuck down my foam adhesive and added my shaker filling. I then applied another panel of acetate to keep everything inside while I position it on my card.
This was all stuck down to my card base, along with Phoebe and 3 die cut balloons from the Balloon Trio die set.
I didn't have much in my stash to put inside my shaker. I will admit I am not a sequin fan, so I don't have many around. I did find a few blue sequins, along with some little bead that I am pretty sure I will be finding around my desk and in the carpet for months to come. I also used the little star dies that come with the Phoebe with her Wagon die set to punch out some yellow, blue and pink stars.
Supplies Used:
