The Gordian Knot, a creation of Politicians to stifle Common Sense

There is an old saying, that some of you might not have heard, "politicians will complicate the obvious and trivialize the momentous"!  At first glance, this appears to be nonsensical and should be dismissed by the thinking man.  But upon closer examination the truth of this statement comes into focus.  Have you ever noticed how our leaders will often take a seemingly simple matter and turn a meaningless mole hill into a mountain.  Suddenly, they have in essence created a problem that needs additional study, a problem that can only be tackled after  lengthy  congressional reviews. Reviews that require years and millions of dollars to complete.  Reviews, studies and of course money---all of which are vital in order for them to remain in their vaulted position above the common man. In short, they have created a modern day Gordian Knot.  Have you ever wondered why there are so many lawyers in government.  Well politicians and attorneys have one thing in common---to feather their nest, they must out of necessity muddy the issue, complicate the problem, and create a grand labyrinth.  A labyrinth, they and only they, have the key for.  And should any mere man dare to say that common sense dictates a easy solution to the complex problem they, themselves have created, suddenly that individual is labeled as a simpleton incapable of understanding the complexities of a modern world. Donald Trump has been branded as such a man, by the media and politicians on both sides of the isle.  They see him as a clear and present danger to their way of life.  Lives they have dedicated to complicating the obvious for their own personal gains and not those of the nation.  Just like Alexander the Great, Donald Trump will cut the Gordian Knot and those that cling to it will be swept away by a flood of common sense.  And "America will be great again"

S.H.I.T exposes Truth about Hillary's Poop
The Hillary Clinton campaign is in panic mode following reports that even dung beetles are rejecting Hillary's crap.  Seems that a cabin in a remote part of the Arkansas Ozark mountains sometime used by Bill and Hillary still maintains a traditional Outhouse.  An Outhouse dedicated to the proposition that all crap is created equal.  However entomologists from S.H.I.T. (Sam Houston Institute of Technology)  studying insect behavior in that isolated area have made a shocking discovery.  Apparently dung beetles have rejected Hillary's poop.  The reason for this rejection remains somewhat unclear at this time.  However one of the esteemed entomologists from the university did mention that in the not too distant past he did see a news article in which Hillary implied "her sh*t" didn't stink.  He points to this as one possible reason for the dung beetle's rejection of the candidate's dodo!  At any rate, Hillary is depending on the Dung Beetle Vote to sweep her into the White House, because critters that will swallow almost anything can be counted on to vote for her.  And the frightening fact that some in the Dung Beetle community are refusing what she has to offer is quite disturbing.

Death of Common Sense

Sometime back I recieved the below email which I'm passing along because I feel so strongly that it says much about the America we live in today, an America without COMMON SENSE and in the Age of Political Correctness.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place, Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. Do you remember him ?

Senate Leaning Toward Increasing Those Covered by Hate Crimes Law

Anyone who attacks a gay person, anyone who attacks a black person for no reason other that their color or sexual orientation should be punished, but to set aside those two groups or others and say those crimes are greater than an attack on a 12 year boy or a old white man is something totally Un-American. Something we as fair-minded people should condemn. Yet, this is what the Congress is moving toward. For one American to have greater protection than another under the laws of this country is repugnant and cannot be justified by any thinking American. Those who support such legislation are clearly playing toward special interest groups who think their rights out weight the rights of the average person. This is a simple common sense matter, however many seek to complicate the obvious in order to please these special interest groups. This law will most certainly pass and it is just another slap at the common man.

Social Conservatives Mount Last-Ditch Effort to Stop Hate Crimes Bill
Social conservatives opposed to a hate crimes bill that would extend federal protection to gay and transgender victims and nearing passage in Congress are mounting a last-ditch effort to defeat it.

Social conservatives opposed to a hate crimes bill that would extend federal protection to gay and transgender victims are mounting a last-ditch effort to defeat it -- even as it nears passage in Congress

The House voted Thursday to make it a federal crime to assault people because of their sexual orientation, significantly expanding the U.S. hate crimes law enacted in the days after the 1968 assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr..

The Senate is expected to pass the bill, allowing federal prosecutors for the first time to intervene in cases of violence perpetrated against gays.

No one is arguing against the prosecution of assaults. But opponents, fearing threats to free speech under broad interpretations of the legislation, are pushing voters to contact their senators to voice their displeasure over the expansion of the existing law. They acknowledge the odds are against them.

"It's going to be very difficult to defeat at this stage," said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, a law firm that works on religious freedom cases.

Staver said he is hoping for a "groundswell of support" to stop the bill dead in its tracks and at the very least raise awareness of the bill's far-reaching impact. If that fails, Staver said his groups is "strongly considering" filing a lawsuit based on the broad language of the bill that he says would allow federal intervention into past cases, including ones of alleged rape.

Common Sense and Liberals

Liberal stupidity and just plain dumb thinking is found in people with no "Common Sense". I recall a few years back when trying to do something, someone commented, "well that just takes common sense" you need to learn common sense. His comment threw me back for a moment, then I quickly realized one cannot learn common sense----you either have it or not---it can't be learned. So most liberals are without hope---they are people with little or no common sense and there is no cure for this ailment. These people with this great void in their gray matter are hopeless herd followers and possess little individuality. They look to government to provide the answers they cannot, themselves formulate. They are an unhappy lot and see the joys in others and seek to disrupt those things that make others content. They are a confused and always seeking change for change sake----thinking this will make their miserable lives better. Sadly, no matter what changes they may bring about they will not be satisfied and they will always look for something that exist only in their warped minds. Reality is something that eludes them, the reality they are faced with is only something they must eradicate so they can move toward a dream world that doesn't exist. Unfortunately no vaccine exist for this disease and in many cases it seems to be heredity. However, there is hope is that this plague is mostly concentrated in the larger metropolitan areas. Most rural areas report only a few cases. Common sense tells us this can be contained and may in time become dormant and and no longer be a threat to the general population.

Laws and Common Sense

Most elected officials at the Capital and in the various State Houses feel that each time they are in session they must past new laws, I suppose the reasoning is to show their constitutes they have accomplished something, and thus earned their continuing support. This seems to be their thinking and it is fallacious. This idea goes across the political spectrum and those on the right are guilty as well as those on the left. The left however, is the greatest participator in this ritual at the various legislative sessions. A large number of our elected representatives are attorneys and attorneys have a way of complicating the obvious--its in the nature of the profession. Most people after having read a legal document find themselves scratching their head. The law-writers in an attempt to clarify often muddle the issue leaving the final interpretation in the hands of the courts and unelected judges. Law-makers are doing us a dis-service, by writing confusing laws, and by flooding us with new and often unneeded laws.

Attorney-legislators need to stand aside and let common sense prevail. No attorney, no legislator can write common sense into law and attempting to do so is foolish. Forces within the legislative system such as special interest will always have a part in writing even the simplest law, no matter now well intentioned the author. The pen and the quill simply cannot put some things to paper. Common sense can be applied, but common sense cannot be enacted into law without losing its true meaning.

This is a thorny issue, but I feel one worthy of debate and discussion. My simple common sense mind cannot grasp the complex issues involved here. Maybe an attorney could do a better job.

Death of Common Sense

An Obituary printed in the London Times -
Interesting and sadly rather true.
