This will keep Ken busy!

There used to be a large Doug Fir in the middle of our lot. We never like taking trees out but this one was truly cutting our view from the deck in half. When we left last summer we asked our friend Dave, who has a portable mill, to cut it down for us. He did a great job and left this nice stack of lumber, which I'm sure will be put to good use.

We uncovered the pile today to let the air circulate so it won't get moldy.

The longer boards are 12' with the others 10' and 8' all being about 2" thick.

I love the smell of freshly cut lumber.

There will be a whole lot of 2 x 4s and more lumber for perhaps a wooden boat, a shed in back of the pole barn, and who knows what else it will come in handy for?

Life is good!

Hi JL... Love seeing what you are doing this summer in Oregon. I seem to remember a picture with those two boys playing their violins.

Thanks for the note about camp and how Kaleb looks like me :). My moms side of the family says that he has their chin!

Yesiree!! A shed! A boat! It will be fun to see what else! Nice to have your own tree to give you good lumber, especially when the tree blocks your view,
