A night at the farm...

I took Lily and Owen to Wheeler Farm the other night for a little picnic. After our picnic, I wanted to try to get a couple of "nice" pictures of them. But, I was pretty much destined to fail miserably. My first mistake was taking the kids all by myself. It is tough to get a great picture when you have someone helping, so all alone it was almost impossible to keep them in one spot for more than two seconds. Then there was all the animals, the dirt, and the dozens of other photographers that were there that evening. There were distractions galore! We ended up having a really great time anyway. We checked out all of the animals. Owen almost fed one of his fingers to the chickens. Lily had a great time teaching him what noises all the animals made. We played "Pooh Sticks" on one of the bridges for almost an hour. And by the time we left, they were both so worn out that they were asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot. So, when I got home and uploaded all of them I was actually shocked that any of them turned out halfway decent. So, here's a couple of the "nice" shots...

But, here's a little peek of what most of them looked like...

Taking pictures of my own kiddos is so much more challenging for me! I made it a goal to do something like this once a week, so maybe with a little practice it will get a little easier!
