February 10, 2011

I know... December is long passed. In my defense, I am really confused about the time of year. It is usually 70-78 degrees outside. How is one supposed to keep track of time with the weather playing tricks on my mind.
Our home owners association puts on a Winter Wonderland Christmas party at the beginning of December. I don't know how they got the snow but the kids enjoyed it.
Sadly, they knew it would be there only chance to go sledding this year.
Tyler's sister and her family had a vacation planned to Disneyland before we knew we were moving to California. We tagged along.
Landry does not like Splash Mountain. He is only smiling because he is happy the ride is over.
Landry has burrowed himself as close as he can to me in order to stay safe. I wish I could see his face in the picture. Kailey's reaction is pretty great.
We were lucky to find Santa at California Adventure.
Addie thought he looked a little young.

We really had a great time. It was so fun spending time at Disneyland with the Turpins. My niece Kailey had already been on Tower of Terror once and decided she was never doing it again. After a lot of persuasion, I convinced her to try it with me. I was pretty sure she was going to throw up waiting in line. This picture on the ride is one of my favorites.
They love to go on this ride with Dad because he makes them spin so fast.
Kolby is starting to pose for the ride pictures since he now knows when they are coming.
Kailey and Addie really enjoyed hanging out with each other.
Hopefully, they will come back so we can do it again!
We have a man made lake in the middle of our subdivision. At Christmas, the people who live around the lake decorate their houses. We took the Turpins out on the lake to look at all of the lights.
After so many days at Disneyland everyone was a little crazy.
Trying to keep Landry under control.
It was nice to have so many Christmas lights around to help us get in the Christmas spirit. The kids and I tried to take a lot of walks around the lake to see the lights while they were up.
Preparing for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Family Pictures Fall 2010

Special thanks to my wonderful friend Jen. Her determination ensures we have family pictures every year. That included this year when the moving van had just left the driveway, her carpet was not dry from the carpet cleaners removing Addie's puke and the big Halloween party was only a few hours away. Thank you for making me do this even when I don't want to. I am always glad we make it happen.

February 3, 2011

I am sorry to all who were affected by the great winter storm this week. However, I was thrilled it got Tyler out of his trip to Chicago. Five minutes before boarding the plane he found out the meeting was canceled.

The whole Egypt thing is awful.... really. It did work out great for me. Tyler's upcoming trip to Egypt was nixed.

Do you think anything will happen to prevent the Arizona trip? How about Australia in the Spring?

This morning, I inadvertently deleted my blog list. I was in extreme panic. Fortunately, I believe I was able to recover most of my list. Please be so kind as to glance to the right and check to see if your blog is on the list. If it is not there please send me a note with the blog address. Thank you, thank you.

October

The fall was beautiful. We enjoyed a lot of nice weather. It seems it was about six months ago. A lot has happened in the last couple of months.
Landry went on a grasshopper hunt as part of his preschool field trip.
He caught one. It was catch and release so he had to leave it at the Nature Center.
We had a great time meeting up with our friends at Chuck E. Cheese.
We went on a hike to enjoy the fall leaves. Aunt Stacey, Aunt Sara and cousins Evan and Trayson joined in on the fun.
Kolby and Addie had to explore the river bottom.
Evan seemed to really enjoy the hike.
The whole gang.
The sisters...
Addie loves snails and she always seems to find one. We are not sure how she can find these tiny creatures.
Landry got a little tired.
Kolby wanted a little extra adventure.
Landry had two teeth mangled by a pool ball. The dentist had to pull them out. He is just tall enough to put his chin over the pool table. One wild pool ball did a lot of damage.
We enjoyed a few Utah State football games. Kolby was in heaven.
The kids at the Utah State Homecoming parade.
As per tradition, we ate at Village Inn with Grandma and Grandpa after the parade.
Landry loved sitting between these two guys.
We had a fun Halloween party with cousins.
It was nice to spend time with everyone.
We celebrated Halloween in Cedar City in the middle of moving to California. It was a great weekend. The kids carved pumpkins with their friends. It turns out pumpkin carving works the best when the children are left with the men to carve and the women go shopping. Everyone was happier.
These girls were jumping for joy at the site of the pumpkins. They had some serious Halloween spirit.
Our friends in Cedar City were very kind and let us stay with them while we moved. Landry and his best friend made a bed on the floor and were snuggled in for the night before we even knew what happened. They slept like this for three nights.
All the kids ready for the big night.
Just my brood. I was thrilled that Kolby and Addie decided to wear the same costume two years in a row.
Landry was in character while wearing his Power Ranger costume.
Fueling up!
