Firefly Walkabout Wallet (StudioKat)

This was the first time I have used a StudioKat pattern, and while it ended up looking nice, I don't really plan on making this one again any time soon! Mainly because it uses binding, which is my kryptonite. Also, it isn't a PDF file, so I can't easily print new pieces if I lose some of the pattern pieces!

My little Kaylee came out to make it all shiny! And a matching vax card holder

Cozy Trek Floral Blanket - Moon Beam Textiles

Really, this blanket probably could have shared in the last post, but this panel deserves the spotlight! The current round at Moon Beam Textiles is just full of awesome Trek!

I should have smoothed it out a little better...

Trek Floral Projects - Moon Beam Textiles

Sometimes I make lots of little things from the scraps of the promo fabric, and while they turn out adorable/awesome, they really don't NEED their own blog post.  Instead, you get a post with a mish mash of fun stuff! The Trek Floral round from Moon Beam Textiles is so pretty and makes great background blenders or focus fabrics!

I used this same embroidery for the last time this fabric ran, just left off the words and turned it into a purse!

First time I've stitched this one up tho, and I think I'm keeping it!

Live Long and Prosper Begonia Drawstring Backpack - Moon Beam Textile (Blue Calla)

I really do love how quick and versatile the Begonia backpack is - I can easily change the front to show off panels of different sizes! This panel is child sized (cotton spandex) and it's so amazing that I needed to show off as much of it as I could! The reboot round of Trek Floral from Moon Beam is so gorgeous, I think I love it even more than the original!

I'm trying to talk myself out of keeping this one, I really don't NEED it...

WIP Wednesday - Back to Strikes!

It has been a while since I had the time and opportunity to play with strike fabric, but I couldn't resist the awesome Trek fabric that is going to run this month at Moon Beam textile! It's a remix/reboot of a previous fabric and I honestly love it MORE! I want to stockpile the gorgeous blue tonal fabric, it is amazing for accents and background for embroidery, but the plaid and the colorful Comms one are pretty amazing too!

Not the best pictures of the color, but they are awesome in person!

Heroes H2O to Go Sling and Book Sleeve (Moon Beam Textiles)

I'm not sure if you noticed, but EVERYTHING is moving slower through the mail lately, including the awesome fabric from Moon Beam Textiles. I had to rush to make some examples and even with that, STILL barely made it by the end of the round! It closes today (unless we can beg for an extension!) so RUN to get your order in!

H2O and Book Sleeve, perfect for on-the-go!

Galifrey Annette (Swoon) and NCW Set (Moon Beam Textiles)

The Annette from Swoon (aff link) is so perfect for showing off my pretty fabrics, and is super stylish!  This fabric is probably one of my most favorite Doctor Who ones, beautiful colors and a fun design.

I am starting to love matching sets, they look so nice!

Leaf On The Wind Everyday Tote (Moon Beam Textiles)

This month I got two awesome vinyl rolls and a cunning panel from Moon Beam Textiles to show of the Comeback collection.  The rolls of vinyl can be ordered in either 12 or 18" widths, but the strike ones were not quite those measurements.  I had plans to make the tote bag with the fun panel and then do the accents and other side of the Everyday Tote (Bagstock designs) in the vinyl, but one of my rolls was just an inch too short for that.  My suggestion is to get the 18" if you are going to make purses so you have lots of options for directional and featured cuts.

The shine of the vinyl and the dark saturation of the panel were a challenge to photograph

WIP Thursday - Time to Try to Catch Up

I just have a few more orders to get through before I'm back on track, but that means I can totally take some time off to work on fun projects, right? I signed up for a 3 day craft show in December, so I need to start working on more inventory.  I still have a stockpile of lanterns to add fabric to, hooded towels to finish, mountains of felt and vinyl to turn into finger puppets, bookmarks, and keychains...plus half finished UFO purses I uncovered in my organization sprees.  I'm planning on taking a week off from the day job, so I'll either get a TON of stuff done, or I'll just chill and do stuff with the kids.  Either way, it's going to help me de-stress!

Bookmarks from the awesome vinyl on preorder now at Moon Beam Textiles!

Dino Pocket Pal and Pouch (Lind's Handmade, Moon Beam Textiles)

I've had this cute little pattern for a while, but no chance to make it until I got the new vinyl from Moon Beam Textiles to try out.  The Pocket Pal from Lind's Handmade is actually pretty fast! I should pull out my scan n' cut to see if it cuts even faster, but really, you cut 5 pieces! Three are out of vinyl, one in the pocket fabric, and a piece of ribbon (or non-fray fabric like Oly fun).

A cute set!

Firefly Cord Minder Pouch (Moon Beam Textiles)

This was a request from a repeat customer, and it ended up being pretty fast and easy! The fabric is an awesome constellation Firefly inspired custom from Moon Beam Textiles.  It's not currently available for ordering, so I'm glad I stocked up on it!

The top hook can also be used to hang it from...something.

The Experiment Kelley Wallet - Moon Beam Textiles (Sew Modern Bags)

This is such a fun pattern, and so fast! The Kelley Wallet from Sew Modern Bags was a last minute sneak in project for my Moon Beam Textiles strike fabric.  I was able to whip one up in an afternoon, so I should probably sneak in a few extra to add to Etsy, right?

My new model

The Experiment Summit Sling Bag - Moon Beam Textiles(Cloudsplitter)

I have a soft spot for Stitch, it was one of the first movies my oldest was obsessed with! It's also been long enough that I don't twitch whenever I see it; I just get nostalgic for my 'baby' (she's in college now).  Also, Stitch is pretty awesome.  The latest fabric round from Moon Beam Textiles is a fun take on Experiment 626, with cute fabrics and epic panels!

I was super tempted to keep this for myself!

WIP Wednesday - No Time To Sleep!

Last week's projects ended up taking me much longer than I expected, so now I really need to bust through a bunch of orders and strikes! Sometimes I wonder if I'd be more productive if I got more sleep, but I haven't had time to test that theory...

I'm getting low on this fabric, and it's one of my most popular colors!

Phoenix zipper pull is pretty awesome...from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts!

One last Adventurer Project - NCW - Moon Beam Textiles (Emmaline Patterns)

I feel like I make too many of the NCW wallet to post every single one I finish, but this one DID turn out pretty nice... plus the fabric is currently open for preorder at Moon Beam Textiles, so you need to run and grab it!  The preorder closes March 31, so no time to waste!

I really love how the swing lock gives it an aged feel

Adventurer Gerbera Clutch - Moon Beam Textiles (Blue Calla)

I am totally loving the tiny scale of the latest round for Moon Beam Textiles! The Lord of the Rings inspired fabric is so beautiful anyway, but make it small, and it's PERFECT for little projects!

I don't need to keep this one, right?

Mask Panel Rainbow Phone Pouches - Moon Beam Textiles

Part of the newest preorder running this month at Moon Beam Textiles are these awesome mask panels! I wanted to see what else I could make with them, but they are pretty small...perfect for a fun phone pouch!

Pretend I cut the Galifrey panel centered...dangers of late night sewing!

Micro Adventure Projects - Moon Beam Textiles

I love to do my embroidery on a fancy background, just to give it that extra 'something' to make it stand out. The Micros and Naughty round from Moon Beam Textiles was so amazing that I had to save some pieces of my strike fabric for these epic embroideries!

These would be awesome in any home, Hobbit or otherwise!

Galaxy Dragon Sling (XOXO by Lauren) - Moon Beam Textiles

The newest preorder from Moon Beam Textiles is literally 'Out of this world'! I got to play with some of the gorgeous Solar System and the Zodiac constellations in the quilting cotton version.

The purple vinyl shimmers like stars, I promise!

Evil Queen Moonflower Tote (Blue Calla) -- Moonbeam Textiles

For my second strike project for the amazing Mean Girls round from Moonbeam Textiles, I chose to do a fun tote bag.  The Moonflower tote from Blue Calla is one I bought ages ago, and couldn't find the perfect fabric to use with it.  This was the first time doing this pattern, and it was actually much easier than I expected, even with the fancy circle cut outs!
