Hello...

We got back in town yesterday from a camping trip. I'll have pictures (a lot) soon, but I've been busy spraying the bottoms of kids' shorts today with stain spray. Happy Wednesday!

Watson Family Truths (by Geoff Watson)

I have great worth, not because of my performance, or because I finish first, or because I have great skill, but because I'm loved completely by my Heavenly Father who knit me togther in my mom's womb and knows me inside and out. He loves me completely, even knowing all my failures, faults, and weaknesses, because He created me. The plans for my life are in His hands, and He will use every thing that happnes to me, good and bad, to draw me into relationship with Him. I can find rest and peace with Him.

Knowing these truths frees us to attempt things that we may fail at, love people that don't love us back, and pursue dreams that don't have marked paths. Our Father loves the journey as much as the destination, so we can live fully attentive to each step of our journey. Each step teaches us our Father is trustworthy to journey with us, even at the low places where we may not feel His presence. Growth in our lives happens as the Father changes us from the inside-out.

Then, if we do happen to perform well, finish first, or have great skill, we can live free to be all God created us to be.

We will live loved, and love.

Why 'The Unit?'

Why "The Unit?" "We are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of His body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we are not." --Romans 12:4-6 (The Message)...So, our little family of 7 is working as a UNIT, a small functioning body within God's bigger functioning body, the Body of Christ.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. I Thes. 4:12

"...Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished." II Chron. 28:20

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for , but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. Romans 8:26-27
