"The Read-Aloud Handbook" by Jim Trelease is a wonderful resource to have. It would also make a great baby shower gift along with some board books. He talks about why it is important to read to your kids and has some really interesting statistics about language and reading. I strongly believe that reading to your children daily is among the most important things you can do with them. Buy it today and share a love of reading forever! (I know, that was cheesy.)
