This wall has actually taken us about 3 years to build. We went to the Bureau of Land Management to get a couple of permits to collect the slate. We then had to go down to the virgin river gorge in Hurricane to collect the slate from the cliff side. Then haul it home and stack it so it would stay as a wall.
It took us a while to level out the yard and a couple of loads of top soil. Which being from California, we didn't like the color of their red top soil here, it was strange.
The finished product! It took the whole neighborhood to help us install the sprinkler system and dig the trenches. Then it took us a few people to help lay 6 palettes of Sod in three hours! Thanks to all our friends and neighbors! Now we need to buy a lawn mower.

Looks good! I'll never forget the day we did our sprinklers/sod. It's a lot of work. We sometimes drive by our old house when we're in town to make sure the current residents haven't killed that precious grass. :)
