Ever Thine

Image
Thirteen years ago today we were married. We didn't know we would have six children. It still surprises us. Sometimes it's hard to separate the role of parent from spouse. The role of parent never stops. Or even slows down in our home. It has been a few years since Joe and I went out to dinner. Just the two of us. Our wedding bands are inscribed Ever Thine . I never take it off. Today I will need to remove it for a few hours as I head into surgery. I know it will be in safe hands, awaiting my finger. Until then, it will be on Joe's pinkie. Happy anniversary, Joe. Thank you for your generosity, love, kindness, compassion, sympathy, compliments, humor, and friendship. Ever thine.

Kirsten tagged me for this meme about a month ago. I had forgotten about it, but here it is: I received the above wonderful goodies before Christmas. Ruffled rickrack and bias tape from Making it Fun . Cadbury Popping Elves from Karyn . A handmade felt brooch from Beki . I have plans for the trims. We've eaten the elves. The brooch is on my jean jacket. Carter has been dying for a rock tumbler/polisher. The boy is obsessed with rocks. Santa brought him a rock tumbler. It. Is. The. Loudest. Thing. On. Earth. Ever . It sits on our front porch. It is so loud. And it has to run for nearly a month! A month !! Did I mention it is loud ? Obviously Santa did not know this about the rock tumbler. I found this vintage, rhinestone reindeer brooch at the Swap Shop . Free. I love it. It was after Christmas when I got it. I can't wait until next Christmas to wear it. It rocks. And all the rhinestones are intact. This is Sawyer in a tree in Gettysburg. He loved being in the tree. He was u

A Road Trip - Fabric Answers

We're on a road trip. To New Jersey. (We left yesterday because Joe has to teach a class this morning.) The kids are loving it. Another mini-getaway. ( Kathy , can you name that hotel?) I received a lot of questions in yesterday's post about my Japanese fabrics. I will try my best to answer them. The fairy tale/storybook fabrics came from Superbuzzy and Reprodepot . They sell out quickly so you need to check often and buy them as soon as you see them. The Wizard of Oz came from Superbuzzy. It looks like they are sold out now. It's a light-weight canvas and kind of pricey. I had a credit with them, so when I bought it, it didn't seem quite as expensive. (Do you like my rationalization??) I think Reprodepot carried it, too. They both have Jack and the Beanstalk, which is similar to the Wizard of Oz. The red fabric with the letters came from Superbuzzy, I think. Although both stores may have carried it at some point. The bird fabric is by Lecien and is called "My F

I {Heart} Fabric

Especially Japanese fabrics. And more specifically, Japanese fairy tale/storybook fabric. This is my collection thus far: These were bought over a period of time. Probably spanning a few months. I splurged. I couldn't resist them any longer. From the bottom: Snow White & Rose Red, The Three Bears, Golden Goose, Monkey in the Persimmon Tree, something with a wolf and a goat dressed in clothes (??), and Hansel & Gretel. I haven't cut them yet. I'm afraid to. What's new? And a few more prints, including the Wizard of Oz, one of my all-time favorite movies. I really {heart} fabric.
