It's New Year eve eve~!

Time for some reflections. ^_^


In 2006...

Now, the best part. Haha. New year resolution top 17 (for 16 - 17 years alive)

Be more diligent
Be tidier
Respect everyone who respects me
Learn to cherish everyone and everything around me
Love my family more

Practise piano more

Laugh more

I think I failed to accomplish most of the things listed above like spending less time in front of com, tv, spending less (I spent MORE!), being more positive, learning to love to live, and DEFINITELY NOT the tidier part. XD



In 2007...

This year really whizzed by.
Lots of things happened. Good, bad...

It was difficult to remember all the things that happened but I'm sure every incident has caused an impact on me (however small it might be).

The most significant thing that happened this year is probably entering Anderson JC.

Next year will be the last year we're together. I hope we'll be even closer. :) Our class has gone through so much... I hope next year will be year memorable to all of us in 2207. :D

This is the first year I spent in a different school from you girls (I'm too stupid). True enough, things have been weird at the beginning when my life in school doesn't consist of your names, and your life without mine. We can never know what each other are up to in school. And we definitely cannot share the same gossip anymore.

But,
that doesn't mean that my love for you girls have decreased. Not at all.
I'll continue to be there for you girls. Whenever you need me, just call my name and I'll be there.
I will never forget how you girls were there for me during the saddest time of my life.

It's like...
there are times when I wish to see you girls so much, it hurts.
You feel this emptiness in your heart because you know there are people missing in your life at that instant.

I want things between us to remain as they are forever.
I want us to be as close.

I really hope I can go there in future. Preferably with my friends OR my sister, who's fluent in Japanese.

Many things, I guess.

My life was screwed, unscrewed, screwed and unscrewed again.
(think screws and screwdrivers XD)

People left, re-entered, and then left again.


But there's no doubt that I understand more things now, as compared to the past.

Things that I hated became things that I love.

Well, something like that. ^_^





But, まあね。。。although I've understood some things, there are still tons more for me to understand.

And I must definitely learn to love myself more and become more optimistic.

Well, I bet anyone's Christmas will be more interesting than mine. haha.

But I enjoyed myself on Christmas EVE though. XD


Christmas Eve:

I was making nice little chocolates with sis! haha.

haha. Well, I realized that using the microwave oven is much more effective than cooking it slowly over fire. *winks at yeeyan and serene*

Anyway, after that, Mum came home from work and we started preparing the Christmas dinner.
Started off with the salad!

They look fresh, don't they? haha.
Well, I washed ALL of them and ATTEMPTED to peel the baby carrots.
I feel really proud of myself. To a small extent. -___-

Mum: You take so long just to peel a carrot. Oh, and are your fingers still present?

I love this woman.


Then everybody arrived and the food was ready. :D

(sorry for the blurry picture. my hand shook. ^^;;)

After the meal, we had wine (haha. It's really harmless, right? ^^;;)

HERE COMES THE MAIN HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT~~~!

Honestly, I've never tasted any wine like this.
it's SWEET. It's actually SWEET.

Alright. Call me ignorant or whatever.
But I was really amazed at the sweetness of the wine. :D

And well, the sweetness comes with a price, of course.

Lun (my sis's bf): It cost $***

Hint: it's a 3-digit number and it starts with a '2'

GOODNESS. I had to cherish every drop of it that's in my glass.

And I realized I can hold my liquor pretty well, considering the fact that I drank quite a bit that night. XD

Oh, and another highlight of the night...

It was a really pleasant surprise, cos we seriously thought there won't be any log cake this year. ^_^

So, well, I really enjoyed myself on Christmas eve. :D


Although we didn't have a huge party, over the top Christmas decorations and turkey etc etc, I still enjoyed myself. :)

It's the company that matters.

As long as I'm with the people I treasure the most, I don't mind eating instant noodles for Christmas dinner. :)



Christmas Day:

There's absolutely nothing worth mentioning.

haha. It's like this every year.
Christmas eve is always interesting, but the day itself will be no difference from any other ordinary holiday...


But then again, every day is different in some ways.
Once there are differences, there'll definitely be something worth mentioning. XD


haha hmm... let's see.
I had a good heart to heart with my sister, which is the rarest thing that can possibly happen between us.

And I really appreciate it.


Although she's obnoxious most of the time, self-centred (in a harmless way) *winks at Serene*, has a bloody bad temper, HATES losing etc etc (her list of bad traits can continue forever), she's still someone I really look up to, someone I love with all my heart, someone who has played a major part in my life.

Wait a sec. I think I've digressed too much.


I'm supposed to talk about Christmas! haha.


Yah. Christmas.

I was really happy to receive many heartwarming christmas messages from my friends. :)
thank you all very much! :D

oh, and

Have you watched a show called 'The Christmas Shoes'? Or ever read a novel with the same title?


It's a really touching show that I strongly recommend everyone to watch. (maybe on next year's christmas then. XD)


It's a show about love, hope and faith, the 3 main elements that make Christmas special. :)


While to some people, Christmas might just be about parties, presents, good food and fun, I beg to differ.
Maybe, it's supposed to convey a certain message to people.


I'm not a Christian, so I don't know much about Christmas. But I think that it's an occasion to bring people together. To strengthen bonds, to spread the love... :)


But of course, that should be done not just on Christmas! ^_^

Sometimes, we don't really need materialistic things to make us happy.


We might say 'If I had a Burberry perfume, I'd be SUPER HAPPY', 'If I had an apartment in XXX condo, I'd be contented', 'If I had an expensive wallet, I'd be happy'...


Maybe we'll be really happy about it.
But how long will this happiness last?

And this kind of happiness is EXPENSIVE! haha.
I definitely don't have the money to enjoy this kind of happiness.


So, then, what can bring us happiness?


Little, little, trivial things.

Like when you're walking on the street and a baby girl looks at you and smiles.
Like when you win a silly game of pool (online) *winks at Karen*
Like when you listen to a happy song.
Or when you dream a happy dream *winks at Ruzi and Wenshi ---> Jonas Salk*


For me, I was really happy when I received the comment from Remee. :)
Remee, that meant a lot to me. Really. :D

It's really great to be able to convey your feelings and thoughts to people.
and share your happiness and sadness with readers from all over the world.



That goes to say that, even when you feel lonely, as long as there are people out there who remember you and listen to you, no matter how few there are, you're not alone. :)


So for me, even if there's only one reader, I'll keep writing.
Even if there's only one person who's willing to talk to me, I'll listen.

I was so excited about today, I woke up at 8.04 thinking it was already 9.04. -___-

Will be celebrating christmas with my family (which includes my sis's bf)
Initially, my cousins were coming over.
But POOR POOR Yiliang had camp duty.

I couldn't stop teasing him. XDXD

So well, I've got many things to do this afternoon.
Will be preparing the Christmas eve dinner with my sister.
(I hope we won't burn down the kitchen ^_^;;)

Spent last night decorating the mini Christmas tree and the house.

I suck at decorating the tree. haha. And well, it's standing on top of my piano! haha.

Went shopping with sister yesterday at Causeway to get stuff for tonight's dinner and also to get some presents. ^_^

Her new song 'Untitled ~for her~' (in the Guilty album) has been put on repeat for the 17840000th time. haha.

Well, Ayu fans might already know that Ayu put in a lot of effort into this album, taking into account that someone very dear to her passed away during the production of this album.

I think that's the reason why this album is GOTHIC, DARK, SAD...


Dark = Love (in Jasmine's dictionary)


90% of the songs are either rock/rock ballad.


Jasmine's review of 'GUILTY':

1. Mirror ---> a really rock song. Gives me the feeling of something mysterious and dark.

2. (don't) leave me alone ---> I know the PV is strange, but it sounds good. Reminds me a lot of 'Game' or 'Inspire' sort of song. Love it.

3. Talkin' 2 myself ---> Do I even need to talk about how much I LOVE this song and PV?!?! Another dark and rock song.

4. Decision ---> LOVE. It's really rock.

5. GUILTY ---> The intro to the song (the eerie chiming of a bell) just took my breath away. another really really dark song.

6. fated ---> It's not bad. A pretty depressing ballad. But the PV is just....

7. Together When ---> A beautiful ballad. with bittersweet lyrics. :)

8. Marionette prelude ---> An AMAZING instrumental piece. Totally fits its title.

9. Marionette---> One of my favs in this album. Really gothic and dark. When I first listened to it, I was at a loss for words.

10. The Judgement Day ---> I LOVE THE INTRO SO MUCH! the church organ and all. but I was kinda disappointed when it turned into a chirpy little instrumental piece at the end. (but it was to link into the next HAPPY song)

11. Glitter ---> It's nice on its own. A really happy song. But, imo, it just doesn't fit into the album! Oh, and not to mention how .... the PV is.

12. MY ALL ---> Another happy song. Reminds me too much of 'Blue Bird' (the arrangement). But I like the lyrics. Really sweet.

13. reBIRTH ---> Beautiful. Reminds me of 'Everlasting Dream' and 'Neverending Dream' in her 'Rainbow' album. Really really beautiful.

14. Untitled ~for her~ ---> MY FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME. It's such an emotional/hopeful/sad ballad. I'm not sure why, but this song nearly made me cry.





Now, I understand what Ayu herself wrote in her blog, that when she listened to the album, the tears just couldn't stop.


It's an AWESOME AWESOME album.
Filled with such overpowering emotions...
This time round, she really managed to convey her message to all people out there who listen to her songs.
And this time round, I think she has really given her all.

=)

(Btw, The First Press Edition of GUILTY (CD+DVD) was sold out at CDJapan since what... last last week? Like WTH?! It's just preorder!!!)

Like, tons.

Although I keep saying things like 'If only I could return to the past', 'If only I've done this instead of that', they're only 'if only'.

The fact is that we can't change our past. Even what happened just a second ago can't be changed anymore.

What can be changed is the present, the future.

It looks nice from up here, but when you actually walk in the crowd, you feel like throwing yourself against the wall.

And I love my sis and dad for accompanying me to go get one, despite their crazy schedules. :D

Also, that's one thing off my Christmas wishlist. haha.
